Newest Original Anime Series With Action Packed Psychic War Between Seven Kings Launches On Leading U.S. Anime Streaming Site The Same Day It Debuts In Japan

VIZ Media takes fans to an alternative world of – K - in the North American debut of the new anime series on, the company’s own website for free anime, as well as on the free, ad-supported Hulu service and the Hulu Plus subscription service (

K will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles, and debuts in North America the same day it launches in Japan. Episode 1 is now available, and new installments of the 13-episode series will debut every Thursday.

K is set in a world where history has taken a slightly different course from the one we’re familiar with and follows the story of a young boy whose life is caught in a psychic war between seven kings. Yashiro Isana, also known as Shiro, is wanted for a crime he has no recollection of committing. He finds himself being hunted by the groups Homura, led by Mikoto Suoh, “The Red King,” and Scepter 4, led by Reisi Munakata, “The Blue King.” While on the run, another young man named Kuroh Yatogami helps him. Will this fated encounter change Shiro’s life forever?

bring charity event to LBCHC all weekend
November 3-4, 2012

LONG BEACH, CA (October 5, 2012)Long Beach Comic & Horror Con is proud to host Stephen Stanton (Grand Moff Tarkin), Rick Fitts (Star Trek: The Next Generation) and local Star Trek and Star Wars fan clubs for a unique fundraiser, “Shoot-A-Trooper/Shoot-A-Trekker.” This fan-interactive event will support the “Verd’ika Fund” or Little Warrior Fund, founded by the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club to donate holiday gifts to local children who would otherwise go without due to illness, poverty, or family emergency.

Led by Stanton and Fitts, the “Shoot-A-Trooper/Shoot-A-Trekker” event will also be supported by local fan clubs, including the Southern California Garrison (501st Legion), Clan Murraan (Mandalorian Mercs), and the USS Navras (Star Fleet).

The “Shoot-A-Trooper/Shoot-A-Trekker” event will invite fans of all ages to make a donation  toward Charity and shoot ‘Nerf Darts’ at their favorite science fiction characters from  Star Wars, Star Trek and more.

“We are very excited to host Stephen, Rick, and our local Star Trek and Star Wars fan clubs, and especially to support this great cause,”said Phil Lawrence, co-founder and sales director for LBCHC. “The ‘Shoot-A-Trooper/Shoot-A-Trekker’ fundraiser will be lots of fun for everyone, and even more so knowing that they are supporting local children.”

The “Verd’ika Fund” was founded by members of the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club in 2007, uniting MMCC chapters (known as Clans) with children in their local communities who would not receive holiday presents due to illness, poverty, or family emergency

O'Barr Returns to Comics with a New
CROW Series!

The Spirit of Vengeance Goes on a Time-Traveling Journey This December
[The Crow Skinning the Wolves Cover]San Diego, CA (October 4, 2012) – IDW Publishing is thrilled to announce that The Crow’s original creator, James O’Barr will be launching a brand-new story featuring the vengeful avian guide, THE CROW: SKINNING THE WOLVES, a three-issue miniseries set to debut this December. Fans of O’Barr’s dark signature style will be delighted to see him backed by co-artist Jim Terry with a story woven of the same supernatural mystique that made The Crow a favorite of fans worldwide.

“I’ve been wanting to see a new Crow project from James O’Barr for a lot longer than we’ve had the Crow license,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief, “and what James has lined up for Skinning the Wolves and beyond is definitely delivering on those expectations.”

Set in a European concentration camp in 1945, Skinning the Wolves investigates a world where the dark harbinger of vengeance is dispatched in response to one of history’s greatest atrocities and the ultimate evil that perpetrated it.

"This is a story I've had planned for ages; 20 years maybe. It’s a tough tightrope to walk, using a concentration camp as a setting for a story, but I took care in not exploiting the situation for entertainment purposes. I did layouts and a rough story outline, but got sidetracked with the increasing popularity of the original film and graphic novel of The Crow and never found the time to finish it,” said O’Barr. “I met Jim Terry a few years ago and was really truly impressed with his Eisneresque style and thought it would be perfect for him. He’s gone above and beyond my expectations and I'm very proud of him and this book."

“I couldn't have asked for a better story to work on, and it has been thrilling to see it develop into what I feel will be a truly special book,” said Terry. “There are many, many titles on the stands these days, but I believe SKINNING THE WOLVES will be different from them all--not from a place of hubris, but from genuine excitement over what it's become.”

Full of the dark, challenging questions and ideas that have propelled The Crow to international acclaim, Skinning the Wolves is sure to be a gritty spectacle; one not to be missed by any comics fans, macabre justice enthusiasts, or those in between. 

Veteran producer Edward R. Pressman, producer of the 1994 smash hit film The Crow, together with Relativity Media and Dimension Films, is at work on a reinvention of the original film, which explores its own unique storyline separate from the comic book, with F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) attached to direct from a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow and Marc Klein. Pressman licensed the comic book rights to IDW. The deal was brokered by Dan Kletzky of Entertainment Licensing Associates.

Resolution Independent Handling Worldwide Sales at AFM on Pic from Director Nikolai Pigarev

Leeds – October 4, 2012Meteletsa: Winter of the Dead, the first Russian language zombie film from writer/director/producer Nikolai Pigarev, will world premiere on November 3, 2012 at the 26th Leeds International Film Festival in the Fanomenon section. Melbourne-based producer/distributor Resolution Indepdendent is handling worldwide sales at AFM.  The action adventure film is co-written by Pigarev and Mikhail Borzenkov, and executive produced by Resolution’s Pete Ford alongside Wayne Duband. 

Meteletsa: Winter of the Dead, the directorial debut from Nikolai Pigarev, follows the story of a not-so-intrepid Moscow reporter who finds himself battling an army of undead zombies during a freak snowstorm on the hottest day in Russian history. Now all he has to do is get the girl, stop himself from being shot by her father and stay away of the sharp end of the mad Russian Orthodox Priest’s axe, while still making his deadline!

Co-writer Mikhail Borzenkov stars alongside Tatyana Zhevnova, Alekandr Abramovich, Sergey Shirochin, Dmitriy Kozhuro, and Yuliya Yudintseva.
