COLD WAR ESPIONAGE THRILLER MAYDAY HITS PAPERBACK THIS MAY
Collecting issues #1-5
PORTLAND, OR, 03/30/2017 — Critically-acclaimed writer Alex de Campi (NO MERCY, Grindhouse), artist Tony Parker (This Damned Band), and colorist Blond (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?) will, appropriately, release a trade paperback collection of their blood-soaked thriller MAYDAY this May.

April 1971: the CIA is handed the espionage coup of the decade when a KGB general defects with a list of all Soviet intelligence assets in Asia, including spies within the US Army in Vietnam. All Jack Hudson has to do is get the defector and his microfilm from Hong Kong to California...and keep Palm Springs’ overzealous FBI office from turning everything into a freakshow. All Codename: Felix has to do is kill the defector and get the microfilm back to the USSR, by any means possible. Easy, right? Now throw in a beautiful woman, a fast car, and a whole lot of drugs—and watch it all crumble.

MAYDAY TP (ISBN: 978-1-5343-0157-3, Diamond code: MAR170811) hits comic book stores Wednesday, May 24th and bookstores Tuesday, May 30th. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, April 24th.

MAYDAY TP is available for preorder now via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, and Indigo.
Select praise for MAYDAY:

“MAYDAY is one hell of a fun read.” —Big Comic Page

“Sure to rock readers' socks off. The art and use of period music sets it apart, giving it a film-like flair reminiscent of movies such as Drive and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.” —ComicsVerse

“MAYDAY provides readers with a window into an era that still informs politics and diplomacy to this very day. The opening salvo is a beautifully crafted introduction to the period: subversive, paranoid, and surreal.” —Jason Wilkins, Broken Frontier

“What makes MAYDAY stand out from the pack of 20th century period pieces, not only in comics but in contemporary fiction in general, is that the creative team is able to construct a dark and foreboding reconstruction of the recent past through the intricacies of the medium itself: composition, color choices, and even the curated soundtrack—instead of resorting to the cheap tricks of gratuitous and exploitative violence.” —Comicosity

“Beautiful and barmy, this book is a pretty full-on leap into a very strange section of recent history.” —Multiversity Comics

IDW And Huch! Plan Global Release
The Spiel des Jahres Award-Winning Tower-Building Strategy Game Stacked with Medieval Charm
Torres, the Spiel des Jahres award-winning game, is coming back to North America. IDW Games has partnered with Huch! to bring the tower-building abstract game all the way across the ocean to your tabletop.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this amazing Eurogame to market,” says Jerry Bennington, VP of New Product Development, “and we are honored to represent such a prestigious title.”

Torres tells the compelling tale of a city in need of hope. Following a massive destruction, the King has entrusted his successors to rebuild the city, one castle at a time, to reclaim its prior majesty. That’s where you must act, as a prince in control of 6 knights, stacking castle pieces on top of one another to rebuild the city. Where you place your knights influences how many victory points you earn for the turn.

Torres presents beautifully on the table. With fully updated art and pieces, Torres comes with over 90 sculpted plastic castle pieces that stack on top of one another, 28 beautiful knight figures, 1 King figure, cards, and more. In terms of gameplay, it has the cut and crunch of a Eurogame, with the beauty and elegance of an abstract.

As thematic as it is strategic, this game will force you to make careful moves with your trusted knights, build towers to not only help you score in the short-term, but to set yourself up for your next consecutive turns. Torres provides players with the opportunity to strategize and think ahead for massive long-term pay-offs.

Reclaim the glory of this Spiel des Jahres winner. The cost to build this castle is $49.99. Releasing in August 2017.

DYNAMITE ANNOUNCES BIGGEST SERIES PROMOTION TO DATE,
OVERSHIPS THE SOVEREIGNS #0 FREE TO RETAILERS AND
DEEP DISCOUNTS THE SOVEREIGNS #1 (90% OFF) TO SUPPORT
RETAILERS WITH MINIMAL RISK AND MASSIVE OPPORTUNITY

March 28, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is proud to announce a bold promotional initiative in support of The Sovereigns, the new comic book series that presents an all-different take on the classic Gold Key characters Turok, Solar, Doctor Spektor, and Magnus.

Thankful for the support of retailers who invested in The Sovereigns #0 -- an introductory double-sized issue priced at only $1.00 retail and serving as the foundation of a new universe of comics, coming soon -- Dynamite wishes to help those retailers capitalize on this great launch and reach as many new readers as possible by shipping triple the quantity of The Sovereigns #0 to ordering retailers, with all additional copies absolutely free.

With more copies available at your store, Dynamite hopes that the incredible value of this product - 48 pages of superhero excitement for the low cost of $1.00 - attracts more readers at the outset and increases future customer purchases of the title. Or, with the free copies now available to comic shops, retailers might give the additional copies away to customers as samples (added to a regular customer's pull list, or a free sample with purchase, etc.). The end result: Dynamite hopes that more copies of The Sovereigns #0 will end up in the hands of consumers and lead to sales growth for each shop.

Furthermore, to augment Dynamite's efforts for The Sovereigns, the publisher is proud to announce that initial orders of The Sovereigns #1 (Diamond item codes MAR171617 through MAR171620) will be discounted by a whopping 90% if retailers match or exceed their orders on Red Sonja Vol. 4 #1 (NOV161420 - NOV161425), another title in Dynamite's continuing campaign to expand readership with introductory low pricing, one which has garnered huge success from the added awareness of the #0 issue.

"We greatly appreciate the time and hard work that retailers place in selling our line of comics, and wanted to come up with new opportunities for retailers to support us and capitalize. By mixing in value pricing, deep discounts, hot creators, and extra content, Dynamite's going all-out to launch The Sovereigns at low risk for comic shops and with the potential to grow readership and generate more revenue for retailers," says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher. "The folks here at Dynamite would like to express our gratitude to retailers for their continued support, and their unwavering efforts to keep the Direct Market strong and growing!"

Dynamite is very proud of the work that our creators put into The Sovereigns #0 -- creators who are well known in our industry and incredibly talented, including Ray Fawkes (Wolverines, Robin: Son of Batman) on the main Sovereigns through-line, plus Chuck Wendig (Star Wars: Aftermath), Aubrey Sitterson (G.I. Joe), Kyle Higgins (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and Johnny Desjardins (Vampirella Strikes). The publisher announced last week the expansion of The Sovereigns universe in the pages of the June's debuting Magnus, written by Kyle Higgins and illustrated by Jorge FornĂ©s (Amazing X-Men) and focusing on a legacy heroine picking up the mantle of Robot Fighter.

As a reminder, initial retailer orders for The Sovereigns #1 (item codes MAR171617 through MAR171620, plus incentive variants MAR171621 through MAR171625) are due to Diamond on Tuesday, March 28, at latest.

DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT FOLLOWS ITS
BESTSELLING ADAPTATION OF GEORGE R. R. MARTIN'S
A GAME OF THRONES WITH CLASH OF KINGS THIS JUNE!

Landry Q. Walker and Artist Mel Rubi Bring the Second Novel
in the A Song of Ice and Fire Series to Comics

March 21, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment has been bringing the beloved series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin to monthly comic books since 2011. Now, the continuation of A Game of Thrones returns after nearly two years with Dynamite's release of A Clash of Kings!

In A Clash of Kings, Arya has escaped from King's Landing with the help of Yoren, a brother of the Night's Watch, but the road to the Wall brings its own dangers. Meanwhile, Sansa attends a tournament on the sadistic King Joffrey's name-day, and Bran, in Winterfell, suffers from strange dreams of wolves...

"George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones is one of the greatest works of modern fiction, having hooked millions of fans around the world through the novels, television series, and our comic book adaptations," says Dynamite Entertainment CEO and Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "We are creating great comics with George, Anne, and everyone involved on his prose team, and are excited to welcome Landry Q. Walker and our very own Mel Rubi, whose work graced Red Sonja for years, as the new creative team. We are honored to be a part of one of the most exciting franchises of our time, and continue to bring the best talent to adapting these masterpieces of fantasy."

Landry Q. Walker (Batman: The Brave and the Bold) and Mel Rubi (Red Sonja, X-Men) are working in conjunction with George R.R. Martin's creative team to adapt one of the author's most beloved novels.

"As a long time fan of the books, I'm very excited to have the opportunity to get to play a bit in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire," says Landry Q. Walker. "Taking something I have enjoyed so immensely and tackling the challenge of adapting that into the beautiful and complex language of sequential art is a dream job. For readers, I believe this comic will create an opportunity to see A Clash of Kings retold in a manner that adheres to the original visions of George R. R. Martin, while exploring what his story looks like through his eyes. We're working hard to create a faithful visual adaptation of the novel that uses the strength of the medium of comics to it's fullest capacity, and I cannot wait for readers to see what we have done."

George R.R. Martin's A Clash of Kings #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' April 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in June. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. A Clash of Kings will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.

"WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE MOUSE OF TOMORROW?"
MIGHTY MOUSE RETURNS TO COMICS THIS JUNE

Creative Team Welcomes Legendary Cover Artists
Alex Ross and Neal Adams

March 21, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Terrytoons' animated superhero Mighty Mouse has delighted fans the world over since his first appearance in 1942. Now, Dynamite Entertainment announces his triumphant return to comic books for the first time in nearly 30 years, with a series written by Sholly Fisch, illustrated by Igor Lima, and featuring variant cover artwork for the first issue by industry legends Alex Ross and Neal Adams.

Imagine that the world's greatest hero has been exiled to another dimension -- an alien world, where not even the laws of physics work the way they should. The only person who even believes the hero exists is a young kid whom no one will listen to. And yet, the hero -- who just happens to be a cartoon mouse -- remains the shining light that this drab, cynical world needs to restore its color and life. Here comes Mighty Mouse to save the day in his most unexpected adventure yet... right here, in the real world!

This summer, Dynamite will celebrate the character's 75th anniversary with a brand new comic book series for a whole new generation of fans. Mighty Mouse was first conceived in 1942 as a parody of another cape and cowl hero introduced a few years earlier, and went on to star in countless animated films for the better part of the next 20 years, finding a new life on Saturday mornings in the 1960's.

"One of my favorite things about writing comics is getting the chance to play with characters I've loved all my life," says writer Solly Fisch. "And what's not to love about Mighty Mouse? Not only is he funny, but of all the super heroes you can name, there aren't many who dedicate themselves quite so literally to fighting for the (ahem) little guy. When I was a kid, my sister and I used to get up early to watch Mighty Mouse cartoons on TV and, in those prehistoric pre-DVR, pre-streaming days, we'd tide ourselves over between shows by listening to our Mighty Mouse record (yes, on vinyl. I said it was prehistoric.) Decades later, I fell in love with the character all over again, thanks to Ralph Bakshi's brilliantly insane Mighty Mouse TV series. Now, I get to contribute yet another unique spin on Mighty Mouse, as we bring him rocketing out of Mouseville and into the real world... and couldn't we all really use someone to come save the day? It's all pretty cool, and I'm having enormous fun with the series. Hopefully, everyone else will, too! Oh, and did I mention that I can still sing the entire Mighty Mouse theme song by heart? Don't get me started!"

"Mighty Mouse is one of the greatest standout creations in the history of animation," says Dynamite CEO and Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "Mighty Mouse was a huge part of my childhood, and has been an influence for many characters since, most famously Osamu Tezuka' Astro Boy. It's hard to believe a character so ready-made for comics has been gone from the medium for almost 30 years. I'm thrilled that Dynamite will introduce this American icon to a whole new generation of fans!"

Under license by CBS Consumer Products, Mighty Mouse #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' April 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in June. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. Mighty Mouse will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.
