“World of Tanks: Roll Out!” Comic Book Issue #1 and Premium Tanks Release on August 31

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
World War II inspired story penned by legendary comic icon Garth Ennis advances to retailers
EMERYVILLE, Calif., (August 26, 2016) – Wargaming and Dark Horse Comics announced today that the highly anticipated first issue of the World of Tanks: Roll Out comic series will hit comic book stores and digital distribution on August 31st. The first ever comic book based on the “Wargaming Battle Universe” brings all of the thrills, tension and armored conflict World of Tanks players demand.  Inspired by Wargaming’s massively multiplayer online game World of Tanks, the hard-hitting story written by Garth Ennis (Preacher, War Stories, The Punisher), is a historically based war tale, skillfully illustrated by the renowned Carlos Ezquerra (Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog, War Stories Vol. 2). Each issue is wrapped in the epic cover art of Isaac Hannaford (HALO: Reach, The Punisher) and bursts with the explosive action found in the panels of World of Tanks: Roll Out.
The premier issue of armored combat debuts alongside the first in a series of in-game Premium Tank bundles based on the iconic, “hero” tanks of the comic book’s storyline. Now tankers can read the adventures of the valiant tanks in the comic book and continue the adventure by playing the ‘hero’ tanks in the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 4 versions of World of Tanks
Set during the epic tank battles of 1944, which proved to be pivotal on the outcome of the war, World of Tanks: Roll Out follows a crew of young British tankers as they push deeper into post D-Day Normandy toward a battalion of seasoned German armored units. Flanked and tracked by the Germans at almost every turn, the inexperienced British tankers traverse a battle scarred France while the danger around them escalates and the outcome of the war hangs in the balance.
“As we explored the idea of a World of Tanks comic book, the first priority was ensuring that we told an authentic and historically based tale of combat that was in line with Warming’s commitment to military authenticity,” stated Erik Whiteford, Wargaming’s Director of Marketing. “Having the leading writer in the war comic genre, Garth Ennis, and legendary illustrator, Carlos Ezquerra, as the creative team behind World of Tanks: Roll Out guaranteed the execution of a story in true Wargaming fashion; gritty and packed with realistic and pulse-pounding tank combat.”
As a part of the release of World of Tanks: Roll Out the World of Tanks premium shop for console will be offering limited time bundles featuring the British tanker’s Cromwell, known as “Snakebite." Pulled directly from the pages of the comic, the signature Tier VI British Cromwell light tank offers tankers the Snakebite Crew Skill, which improves overall accuracy. Nimble and highly maneuverable, this tank darts across the map trading armor for speed while still packing a powerful punch. Three individual Snakebite themed bundles will be available on August 31.
World of Tanks: Roll Out comic issue #1 will be available digitally at Dark Horse Digital and in comic book stores in North America, Australia, Western and Eastern Europe on August 31 followed by the release for four more issues of intense tank combat.

Dark Horse Wants You to Win at Life... By Cheating at Everything

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Dark Horse to Publish Mark Perez’s “How to Win at Life by Cheating at Everything”
MILWAUKIE, Ore., (August 25, 2016)—Dark Horse is proud to announce it is branching into the self-help book market with How to Win at Life by Cheating at Everything by Mark Perez (Accepted, Coach). Scott Shaw (The Flintstones, Captain Carrot) lends his Emmy Award–winning illustration skills to the Hollywood screenwriter’s debut illustrated prose book, a humorous how-to for burgeoning criminals.
The satirical novel follows the adventures of one of the most notorious con men in the United States. Jonathan Dough (an alias, of course) relates to Perez stories from his turbulent upbringing and entertaining adulthood. In addition to the personal tales, Dough also shows how to commit crimes and pull off successful cons. The result is an in-depth and fascinating explanation of the glorious world of grift, the science behind scams, and most importantly, how to be a successful criminal.
Mark Perez explained his decision to write an illustrated novel: “I think the bummer about being a screenwriter is you need to be totally cool with the fact that most movies don’t get made. Maybe that particular script you’ve been working on for a year, the one that’s made you crazy and almost ended your marriage, will probably only be read by about four or five people (people who read ten or more scripts a day). It’s a real bummer creatively. So, when the idea came along for writing a book, I was intrigued by the fact that maybe more than four or five people would actually be reading my words. There was a different motivation behind writing the novel, something I hadn’t felt in years: the guarantee of an audience.”
How to Win at Life by Cheating at Everything goes on sale March 8, 2017.

NEW YORK (August 25, 2016) – Long before Bigfoot was a household name, there was Yeti – the so-called abominable snowman and legendary towering creature believed to roam the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. For centuries, eyewitnesses have claimed run-ins with the infamous beast. But without conclusive evidence, the question remains: is the Yeti fact or folklore? In Travel Channel’s four-week special event, “Expedition Unknown: Hunt for the Yeti” beginning Wednesday, October 5 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, adventurer and explorer Josh Gates embarks on an epic and enthralling journey through Nepal and Bhutan, in search of the truth behind the legend. Is the abominable snowman out there? And if so, what is it?

“The Yeti story is especially personal to me, if it’s even possible to get personal with an elusive hairy monster!” says Gates, who also serves as an executive producer. “There have been so many firsthand accounts of the Yeti, and several years ago, I had my own encounter. I discovered an unusual set of footprints high in the Himalayas. It was an incredible and confounding find; we cast the print and donated it to the Yeti museum at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where it’s now on display. The experience has never left me, and now I’m heading back into the mountains to determine what exactly left those tracks.”

Relying on his wit, instinct, expert negotiation tactics and the latest stealth photo and video gadgets, Gates embarks on a high-altitude quest for evidence across the Himalayas. From the hidden caves of Nepal’s backcountry and the iconic slopes of Everest base camp to Bhutan’s mountainside monasteries and isolated forests, Gates joins renowned researchers, historians, mountaineers and local experts as he tracks Yeti sightings in hopes of finding the mysterious creature.

RICHARD DENT'S KICKSTARTER SENSATION MYOPIA LANDS AT
DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT THIS NOVEMBER!

August 25, 2016, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Following the unprecedented success of a Kickstarter campaign supported by the likes of George R.R. Martin, Margaret Atwood, Dean Koontz, and Jim Butcher, Richard Dent brings Myopia to Dynamite!

Based on Dent's award-winning story, Myopia merges speculative fiction and steampunk into a thrilling alternative reality. Armed with a special set of lenses that make him almost invisible inside the Central Lens Network, James Chase sets out on a mission to stop the new world order's violation of the Magnetic Energy Agreement. At first sold as a device to make life more convenient, the lens now works as a tool for the government to hide the devastation unleashed from excessive mining of the earth's core.

"I'm very excited to be working with Dynamite. Myopia is a passion project for me, and I couldn't have worked with a more talented illustrator," says author Richard Dent. "Patrick Berkenkotter is a perfectionist! His attention to detail and flawless renderings of human expression create the perfect balance between realism and fantasy, which was crucial in bringing the world of Myopia to life."

"I was blown away by Richard's concept for this story," says Dynamite CEO and Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "When we saw the enthusiastic response the project received from both fans and such incredible fiction writers, we knew we had the makings of a hit on our hands!"

Myopia Special #1 teams Richard Dent with artist Patrick Berkenkotter, who previously worked on both Vampirella and Dark Shadows for Dynamite, as well as multiple Marvel titles.

Richard Dent teaches Creative Writing in the National University MFA program and at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Dent's poems and short stories have been widely published, and Myopia (in screenplay form) was a finalist in the Francis Ford Coppala Screenwriting Competition and the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition.

Myopia Special #1 features a cover by Cezar Rezak, and will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' September 2016 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, corresponding to release in November.  Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of Myopia with their local comic book retailers. Myopia will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.

ARTIST ALEC MORGAN FOR BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: GODS AND MONSTERS

Return to Battlestar Galactica's
Reimagined 2004 Series In November!

August 23, 2016, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Hot on the heels of the release of the classic Battlestar Galactica series earlier this month, Dynamite announces the continuation of the Reimagined 2004 universe storyline with the release of Battlestar Galactica: Gods and Monsters this November! Karl Kesel and Alec Morgan team up for all new stories from the groundbreaking re-imagined series!

Baltar believes he was chosen by god- and now moves closer to being one himself when he constructs a living Cylon Centurion! Is it his greatest achievement or biggest mistake? Truly obedient or waiting for the perfect time to strike? Is it the protector of Sharon's unborn baby or its greatest threat? Will the Cylon's bloody history repeat itself?

"All the characters everyone loves are here - Sharon, Helo, Adama, Tigh, Roslin, D'anna, Apollo, and of course, Starbuck. And back on Caprica - Anders, Brother Cavil, and the rest of the Resistance fighters," says writer Karl Kesel. "Most importantly, we get to see Baltar go total 'mad scientist' and build a Cylon Centurion from battle-damaged parts."

"One of the great things about Battlestar Galactica is that you have two different universes to work with," says Dynamite CEO and Publisher Nick Barrucci. "We do our best to serve both audiences with comics featuring their favorite cast of characters, whether the classic crew and captain, or the newly imagined universe of recent years. What Karl and Alec have planned for this new series is so frakkin' cool, it's sure to win over every generation of fans!"

Karl Kesel is best know for decades of work with DC Comics, as well as having written multiple series for Marvel. Alec Morgan has worked for both Marvel and DC, most recently on covers for Aquaman and Midnighter.
