HADRIAN’S WALL
A MURDER MYSTERY OUT OF THIS WORLD

The creative team behind C.O.W.L. launches another hit series
Image Comics is pleased to announce that Kyle Higgins, Alec Siegel, and Rod Reis, the creators behind the bestselling C.O.W.L. series, have launched another hit series in HADRIAN’S WALL. Issue #1 is being sent back to print in order to keep up with increased customer demand.

When an astronaut on HADRIAN’S WALL is murdered, pill-popping detective Simon Moore is dispatched to investigate the ship’s crew… including his own ex-wife. But if Simon's not careful, what he finds could make the interstellar Cold War go red hot.

In HADRIAN’S WALL, readers are invited to enjoy a gripping, locked room murder mystery where the secrets of everyone involved are as dark as the space that surrounds them.

HADRIAN’S WALL #1, 2nd printing (Diamond Code AUG168738) and HADRIAN’S WALL #2 (Diamond Code AUG160631) will be available on Wednesday, October 19th. The final order cutoff for retailers is Monday, September 26th.

Select praise for HADRIAN’S WALL:
“[Rod Reis is] an expert storyteller, deftly unfolding this murder mystery with skill and precision. Troy Peteri’s lettering is on point, too, which helps in a talking-head sort of story like this. The panels never feel overburdened by the text. All in all, Hadrian’s Wall #1 is a finely crafted introduction… Look, murder in space with a noir feel? What else do you need from a comic book, right? Especially when it’s done this damn well.” —Nerdist

“A love letter to Blade Runner, Outland and Aliens.” —IGN

“A visual epic unlike anything in recent memory.” —Comics Beat

“Loved it. Like a killer not-yet-made Fincher movie.” —Charles Soule

"A clever riff on the genre, especially for noir fans looking for something different." —UPROXX

“Reis’ gorgeous sequential work falls on the same spectrum as Phil Noto, Fiona Staples and Nic Klein, lending a sense of pulpy atmosphere to Higgins & Siegel’s script.” —Paste Magazine

“An addictive combination of relentless plotting and dreamy Blade Runner style." —Hope Larson

SAGA LYING CAT LOCAL COMIC SHOP DAY STATUE ANNOUNCED
Image Comics/Skybound is pleased to reveal an exclusive SAGA statue of the fan-favorite character Lying Cat in celebration of this year’s Local Comic Shop Day.

This exquisitely detailed, limited edition, black-and-white Lying Cat will be an eight inch resin statue, hand numbered, and limited to 300 pieces worldwide.

The LCSD Lying Cat statue (Diamond Code AUG168737) will be available on Saturday, November 19th at participating comic book retailers. The final order cutoff deadline is Monday, September 26th.

About Local Comic Shop Day:
Local Comic Shop Day® will be held on November 19, 2016 this year.

For 2016, the date has been changed to the Saturday before Small Business Saturday. “We polled participating retailers if they preferred to have Local Comic Shop Day® on November 19th or November 26th,” said ComicsPRO President Peter Dolan (Main Street Comics, Middletown NY). “By a margin of 73% to 27%, our retailers wanted to change the date to the earlier Saturday so it would have a distinct identity separate from Small Business Saturday.”

Local Comic Shop Day® is the only Comic Book Industry event created and run by retailers for retailers. “Last year nearly 400 storefronts participated in Local Comic Shop Day®,” said ComicsPRO Executive Director Marco Davanzo (Alakazam Comics, Irvine CA). “Each and every one of these retailers has a voice in how we grow the day—that’s why we polled them and will continue to ask their opinions as we go forward.”

Blanc-Biehn Productions' The Girl Takes Home Top Award at 2016 Burbank Film Festival

(LOS ANGELES, CA / September 22, 2016) – Independent film company Blanc-Biehn Productions' horror film The Girl earned a win for Best Feature Film in the Sci-Fi-Fantasy- Horror-Thriller category at the 2016 Burbank Film Festival in Burbank, California.

The tense sci-fi thriller stars Michael Biehn, and is directed by his Blanc-Biehn Productions (and real-life)  partner Jennifer Blanc-Biehn. The Festival triumph bodes well for the film's domestic release in January 2017.

"Michael and I are obviously so proud of this movie," said Blanc-Biehn of The Girl, released in the UK under the title Psychopath. "As a director, it's gratifying enough to see your work realized on the big screen; to win an award too… there are no words."

The Girl - written by Bradley and Kevin Marcus, executive produced and based on a screenplay by Lony Ruhman - also stars Tia Carrere (pictured, attached), Evie Louise Thompson, Tristan DeVan, Lorraine Ziff, Hallie Jordan and Nick Nicholson. The movie explores the kidnapping of a teen (Thompson), her rescue by the kidnapper's young boy (DeVan) and the sadistic horrors that await them both.

"Evie and Tristan were so riveting in conveying the horror at the heart of The Girl, Tia Carrere brought a mother's quiet misery to life and Michael… well, Michael always delivers an amazing performance," said Blanc-Biehn.

ODY-C REACHES NEW HEIGHTS
The first 12 issues, plus extras, collected in an oversized hardcover

From the creative team of writer Matt Fraction (CASANOVA, SEX CRIMINALS) and artist Christian Ward (INFINITE VACATION, OLYMPUS) comes an oversized hardcover edition of their ongoing sci-fi epic ODY-C this November.

ODY-C, modeled after Homer's Odyssey, is a psychedelic, gender-broke science-fiction epic that tells the story of three legendary warrior-queens, Odyssia, Ene, and Gamem, returning home after a centuries-long battle. Told in verse with a visual sensibility that redefines the very possibilities of the comics medium, this gloriously oversized hardcover also includes exclusive bonus materials: essays by classicist Dani Colman, teaching aids, and a massive 10-page fold-out previously only available in the sold-out first issue.

ODY-C: CYCLE ONE HC (ISBN: 978-1-63215-927-4) hits comic book stores Wednesday, November 23rd and bookstores Tuesday, November 29th, and will be available for $49.99. It can be ordered by retailers with Diamond code: SEP160787 and is available for preorder on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, and Indigo.

PRAISE FOR ODY-C:

BATGIRL TEAM REUNITES FOR FIRST CREATOR-OWNED SERIES—MOTOR CRUSH
Start your engines for the highly anticipated new series
New York Times bestselling creative team Brenden Fletcher, Cameron Stewart, and Babs Tarr (Batgirl of Burnside) reunite for their first creator-owned project together, MOTOR CRUSH, coming from Image Comics this December.

In MOTOR CRUSH #1 readers meet Domino Swift. By day, Domino competes for fame and fortune in a worldwide motorcycle racing league. By night, she cracks heads of rival gangs in brutal bike wars to gain possession of a rare, valuable contraband: an engine-boosting “machine narcotic” known as Crush. But the origins—and ultimate purpose—of this mysterious substance are unknown, and could put her on a collision course with danger...

"Something magic happens when Cameron, Babs and I make comics together,” said Fletcher. “We felt it when working on Batgirl and it's there on every neon-soaked page of Motor Crush. We're so fortunate to be able to continue this journey together as colleagues and friends. Motor Crush is the culmination of everything we've been working toward."

Stewart added: "Motor Crush showcases our team at full throttle, working the way we want to produce a comic that's unlike anything you've seen from us before!"

“Hold on tight,” warned Tarr. “It's gonna be one wild ride!!"

Fans of Fletcher, Stewart, and Tarr’s revamped and refreshed version of the Doc Martens-wearing and realistic butt-kicking Batgirl will enjoy MOTOR CRUSH’s biker-chick heroine Domino Swift. MOTOR CRUSH takes readers on a thrilling ride that will satisfy fans’ edgy, rebel-studded attitudes with high-octane story and breathtaking art that will leave competition in the dust.

MOTOR CRUSH #1 Cover A by Tarr (Diamond Code OCT160552) and Cover B by Stewart (Diamond Code OCT160553) hit stores on Wednesday, December 7th. The final order cutoff for comics retailers is Monday, November 14th.
