Live the Dream with Jesse Reklaw
Cartoonist Jesse Reklaw turns the dreams of strangers into insightful, humorous, and clever four-panel comic strips in The Night of Your Life. This stunning hardcover collects over five years of Reklaw’s comic strip, Slow Wave, which appears in alternative newsweeklies all over the country.
Sometimes playful, sometimes thought provoking, but always entertaining, The Night of Your Life is a testament to the ability of comics to illuminate the corridors of the imagination with wit, sincerity, and delight.
We are excited to announce the Night of Your Life East Coast book tour. Jesse will be hitting up six states along the East Coast in nine days doing signings, readings, and lectures.
“This is the largest book tour I've been on – fifteen different events in nine states,” admits Reklaw. “In some newsweeklies my comic strip has been running for over ten years. I've followed the dream lives of people who've grown up, gotten married, had kids, etc. So it'll be fascinating to meet these people in real life. I'm also really happy with the book; some of these comics I drew years ago, but I still get a chuckle out of them.”

ReelArt Studios: Prince Valiant Statue
Distributed by Dark Horse
In one of the all-time triumphs of comic art, the finest draftsman ever to hold a pen,
Hal Foster, was inspired to begin a saga set in the days of King Arthur, Prince Valiant. Beginning in 1937, when it first appeared as a full tabloid page in the nation’s newspapers, this meticulously crafted ongoing adventure has continued to run weekly, winning worldwide acclaim for its detailed realism and heroic scope.
At the heart of the story is a nordic prince who comes to Camelot, and befriends Merlin, Arthur, and his fellow knights. Armed with the magical “singing sword,” he sets forth on a neverending adventure that has thrilled generations of readers.
Harold (“Hal”) Foster is considered one of the most important artists in the history of comic strips. His rendering showcases a realistic attention to detail and dynamic anatomy which stands as the benchmark by which all such work is measured. Recognized with numerous awards over his career, Foster passed away in 1982. While subsequent artists continuing the story have also been very skilled, including the current illustrator Gary Gianni, it is Foster’s unique graphic style that defines Prince Valiant.
When collectible-statue producer ReelArt Studios acquired the rights to make a Prince Valiant statue, they felt it was vital to capture the Hal Foster essence as a three-dimensional piece. They selected the noted sculptors of Florida’s Joy and Tom Studios to re-create one of Foster’s most iconic panels in 1/8 scale.
Dark Horse President Mike Richardson, who is also a major Hal Foster fan and collector, upon reviewing the prototype, remarked, “Wow! They picked a tough assignment and really nailed it. This is one of the best Prince Valiant items ever, and that is coming from a tough critic who owns almost everything that’s ever been done.”
Depicting Prince Valiant in full gallop waving an unsheathed sword aside a lunging charger, the sculptors picked just the right moment to “freeze” into reality, creating an animated feeling that conveys an illusion of movement and drama. The oversize statue measures nearly 12² in height, stretching 15² deep and 10 ¾” wide. Strictly limited to only five hundred hand-numbered, prepainted statues, Prince Valiant is scheduled for release in December 2008.
ReelArt Studios is a producer of top quality resin statues and busts, specializing in movie, pulp, and comic-book characters. Dark Horse Comics, the nation’s third largest comic-book and graphic novel publisher, produces and distributes a collectible merchandise program under its Dark Horse Deluxe imprint.

Bluewater Inks Comic Book Deal with William Shatner
Bellingham, WA- Bluewater Productions proudly announces a part-
nership with iconic actor and bestselling author William Shatner.
The Washington based comic book company has contracted to do
four titles with Shatner based on his popular science fiction novels.
Bluewater’s “William Shatner Presents” franchise will include
Shatner’s The TekWar Chronicles, Quest for Tomorrow, Man O’
War, and an exclusive new title that Shatner will create specifically-
ly for the publisher.
The comics will showcase storylines that will be continuations of the
established plots featured in the fast-paced, sci-fi action-adventure
books as opposed to direct adaptations of the titles. Shatner will be
the creative force in the venture and will be working directly with
Bluewater’s writers and artists, along with writer/producer Craig
Nevius (The Fantastic Four, Black Scorpion), to develop the concept
and look of the comics.
Shatner said: “Working with Bluewater is a great opportunity to
bring these novels to a whole new audience.”
Bluewater’s publisher Darren G. Davis comments on the collaboration:
“Mr. Shatner is a savvy businessman and a creative mastermind.
We’re honored to be partnering with him and are confident our ef-
forts will create comic books both his fans and ours will embrace.”
Science fiction fans all over the world are familiar with Shatner’s
TekWar novels. The books showcase a hard-boiled private eye
story set in the 22nd century. The plot revolves around an ex-
policeman protagonist whose quest is to track down a missing
scientist whose invention could win the war against the insidious
computerized drug known as "Tek." The novels were initially
adapted by Marvel Comics in the 1990’s, and subsequently
developed into an television series which ran from 1994-1996
for The Sci-Fi Channel in which Shatner co-starred, produced
and directed.
Shatner has cultivated a career that has spanned over 50 years
as a actor, director, producer, screenwriter, recording artist,
and author. Before his iconic portrayal of Captain Kirk in the
long-running Star Trek franchise, science fiction fans embraced
the actor for guest starring in two classic episodes of The Twi-
light Zone. Currently, Shatner stars in ABC’s critically acclaimed
legal drama Boston Legal for which he has won two Emmys and
a Golden Globe Award. He was also recently inducted into the
Television Hall of Fame and remains one of pop culture’s most
recognizable figures.
Bluewater will launch all four of the “William Shatner Presents”
titles during the first quarter of 2009. The “TekWar Chronicles”
will be an on going series while the three additional titles will
be crafted into a mini-series.

Geoff Johns Announced As Writer For Upcoming
DC Universe™ Online Video Game
Acclaimed DC Comics Writer To Script DCUO Back Story
AUSTIN, Texas - Sept. 15, 2008 - Geoff Johns, the renowned writer behind popular DC Comics such as Green Lantern, Action Comics and Justice Society of America, has been brought on to write the saga of the DC Universe™ Online (DCUO) massively multiplayer action game from Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) in a first-ever collaboration with legendary comic artist Jim Lee, the company announced today.
DCUO for the PLAYSTATION® 3 computer entertainment system and the PC is currently in development by SOE in collaboration with DC Comics and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
"Having a writer of Geoff's caliber brings even more authenticity to the DC Universe Online, and should provide fans with an exciting new medium for his storytelling skills," said John Blakely, SOE-Austin's VP of Development. "Together with Jim Lee, who is our executive creative director for the game, we are tapping into the very best talent from the comic book industry."
Johns, 35, was born in Detroit and studied media arts, screenwriting, film production and theory at Michigan State University. After moving to Los Angeles, he worked as an intern and later an assistant for film director Richard Donner, whose credits include Superman: The Movie, Lethal Weapon 4 and Conspiracy Theory.
Johns began writing comics starting with 1999's Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E., which he created for DC Comics. Comic writing eventually became his full-time career with notable works including The Flash, Teen Titans, 52, Action Comics, and Infinite Crisis.
"Taking comic books into the online space presents an exciting and unique opportunity for me as a writer," said Johns. "I'm looking forward to creating a thrilling story that explains why the DC Universe has suddenly been populated with millions of new heroes and villains in a way that will engage players."
"We've brainstormed about the DC Universe many times but this will be our first time working together on something of this magnitude," added Jim Lee. "This really shows the level of commitment everyone on this project has to capturing the DC Universe in an authentic, compelling way."
DCUO offers a dramatic online setting where players can enter the DC Universe and battle alongside or against their favorite DC Comics heroes and villains including such icons as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker, as well as many other fan favorites such as Green Lantern, The Flash, Catwoman and Martian Manhunter. Nemo Debuts Book in All-Ages Capt'n Eli Series at Baltimore Comic-Con
Limited edition MEGO-style action figure unveiled
Baltimore, Maryland - September 16, 2008 - The second book in Nemo Publishing's new all-ages graphic novel series The Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli will make its debut at Baltimore Comic-Con on Sept, 27. Written and illustrated by Maine artist Jay Piscopo, this is the story of a boy with extraordinary scientific abilities and mysterious ties to the sea. In the few months since Volume 1 was released in June, Capt'n Eli has created excitement among fans, retailers, librarians, educators, and comics professionals and has received numerous reviews. In his cover story, Cliff Biggers of Comic Shop News called this book "a rarity in today's marketplace: an all-ages series that is truly all ages." Newsarama's Jeff Marsick wrote "this is simply a terrific and fun book" and Penny Kenny gave a Four Bullet ranking in Comics Bulletin.
In Baltimore, Nemo Publishing will also unveil limited edition prototypes of the new 8-inch MEGO-style Commander X action figure. These prototypes are all signed by Piscopo, prototype artist Dana Shaw, and manufacturer Paul Clarke. Known as "Dr. Mego," Clarke is a well known MEGO enthusiast and president of EMCE Toys which debuted MEGO reproductions of Star Trek and Planet of the Apes figures. The commercial release of this Commander X action figure will not occur until late November so this is a unique opportunity for convention-goers! This is the first Capt'n Eli character to be offered as an action figure and others are in the works.
Look for Nemo Publishing in Booth 1610 where Jay will offer free convention sketches and the crew will hand out limited edition Undersea Adventures of Capt'n Eli Collectible Card Games, cool Seasearcher tattoos, postcards, and Commander X posters. The last available collectible pins in the first series will be offered on Saturday. These are in limited quantity and will go quickly!
Convention-goers will also have the chance to be in Capt'n Eli's next video by taking the Commander X Challenge! Two new collectible pins will be offered for the first time exclusively to Baltimore Comic-Con fans who participate in the Commander X Challenge. Quotes:
"Here's the amazing thing about Capt'n Eli -- it's like an old-time comic book. Classic, but not retro -- and it works. This well-told tale with its cast of interesting and provoking characters is indeed an epic." ~ Herb Trimpe, Legendary Comics Illustrator
"Jay Piscopo has taken the best elements of classic adventure fiction, pulp sci-fi, and Silver Age comics, stirred them together and come up with something fresh and fun...This book is a winner." ~ Penny Kenny, Comics Bulletin
"...drawn in a combination of 3-D graphics and comic book-style penciling, with vibrant colors that practically leap off the page. Jay Piscopo has done a magnificent job of creating an adventure tale that never takes itself too seriously and never allows itself to become kitschy and cute."
~ Jeff Marsick, Newsarama
"If comics readers don't take Capt'n Eli to heart, they're just too jaded!" ~ Roy Thomas, Renowned Marvel Comics Editor and Writer

Optimum Wound Comics launches Danijel Zezelj’s new webcomic, King of Nekropolis. Print edition of the graphic novel will follow, hitting comic shops on November 26th, 2008.
Vancouver, BC September 15, 2008 – Optimum Wound Comics announces today the launch of King of Nekropolis, a new online comic and forthcoming graphic novel. King was written and illustrated by acclaimed comics creator Danijel Zezelj (Stray Dogs, Loveless, DMZ & Hellblazer). King has previously only seen print in Italy, published by Hazard Edizioni in late 2007.
King will be Optimum Wound’s second release following on the heels of Zezelj’s dark graphic novella, Rex, released back in May. Rex was an earlier work from 1995 repackaged and translated for an English audience. King of Nekropolis is brand new material. The graphic novel is 96 pages, b&w and will be released on November 26th, 2008. It will be distributed by Diamond Comics and sold online through Amazon and Heavy Ink.
King launched has started running as a webcomic on the Webcomics Nation network. It will update on Mon, Wed and Fridays. The online comic will continue for the next eight months.
The webcomic is located at:

Jason Thibault, Publisher and co-owner of Optimum Wound comments: “We are more than excited to be releasing more work by Danijel. It’s been a dream come true working with one of the finest storytellers in the comics medium. Most of the North American comic book audience has only seen Danijel’s work through his commercial work for DC/Vertigo and Marvel. We’re hoping to change that by exposing new readers to his more personal works from his rather extensive back catalog.”
A brief synopsis of King:
Ras Casal is a private detective, haunted by demons and old memories, addicted to drugs and on the verge of complete madness. Casal is hired by Professor Noah to find an old colleague, Theobald Hall, a brilliant computer scientist who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The hunt to find Theobald begins as does a long and terrible descent into personal hells for Ras. His journey into the heart of Nekropolis becomes his last chance at redemption.
The book can now be pre-ordered from local comic stores.

Harvey Awards Dinner Tickets Available!
Brian Michael Bendis to be Keynote Speaker!
Dinner Gift Bag Contents Announced!
BALTIMORE, MD (September 11, 2008) - The Harvey Awards dinner and presentation ceremony, featuring Emcee Kyle Baker and Keynote speaker Brian Michael Bendis, will be held on Saturday, September 27th, at the Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards. Tickets are now available for the event, which will begin at 7:00pm with a cocktail hour, to be followed by dinner and the awards ceremony at 8:00pm .
The Harveys, named after the legendary MAD founding editor and master storyteller Harvey Kurtzman, recognize outstanding achievements in over 20 categories. They are the only industry awards both nominated and selected by the full body of comic book professionals. The Harveys are also very excited to announce Brian Michael Bendis as the keynote speaker for this year's awards ceremony. Brian is one of the most prolific and successful writers working in mainstream comics today. For well over six years, Brian's titles have consistently charted in the top five best sellers on the nationwide comic sales rankings. Brian is one of the premiere architects of Marvel Comics' Ultimate Universe, a line of comics created specifically for the new generation of comics readers. Since it's best-selling launch, he has written every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man to date, and has also written Ultimate Fantastic Four, Ultimate X-men, Ultimate Marvel Team-Up, and Ultimate Six. In addition to scripting the action in the Ultimate Universe, Brian is also responsible for the writing duties on titles such as Secret Invasion, New Avengers, and Mighty Avengers. His creator-owned title, Powers (with series co-creator and artist Mike Oeming), has brought acclaim and accolades as well.
Brian has been nominated for 4 Harvey Awards, for his work on Powers, Daredevil, and New Avengers. He has also won five prestigious Eisner awards, including 'Best Writer of the year' two years in a row.
He is creator of the Jinx line of crime comics published by Image Comics. This line has spawned the graphic novels Goldfish, Fire, Jinx, Torso (with Marc Andreyko), and Total Sell Out.
"We are thrilled to be hosting the Harvey Awards again this year, " said Marc Nathan, promoter of the Baltimore Comic-Con. "Award shows are all about having a moment that you will remember. Last year, Kyle Baker was a great MC, Rich Koslowski danced onto stage to present an award, James Jean gave us all a little bit too much information as he won an award, Erik Larsen made us laugh with a single line read, and we were able to see industry legend Joe Kubert honored by HERO Initiative. These are the moments that stood out to me. With Brian added to the event as our keynote speaker, I can't wait to see what happens this year. We hope as many fans as possible will join us."
Guests for dinner and the awards ceremony will enjoy a full banquet-style dinner of filet mignon and Baltimore-style crabcake. For the third year, we are pleased to have Kyle Baker to act as our Master of Ceremonies for the evening. In addition, the 3rd Annual Hero Initiative Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented.
Continuing the very successful promotion from last year, a gift bag will be available to all dinner guests. The first 200 attendees will receive The MAD Archives vol. 1 from DC Comics, Diary of a Wimpy Kid from Amulet Books, an imprint of Harry N. Abrams, Inc., Beowulf Trade Paperback, based on the screenplay by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary from IDW, Creator Chronicles Preview DVD Featuring Michael Golden from Woodcrest Productions and Eva Ink, Stephen King's Dark Tower : The Gunslinger Born, courtesy of Cards, Comics, and Collectibles & The Baltimore Comic-Con, a Toon Tumbler drinking glass from Popfun merchandising, and an exclusive Harvey Awards keychain from LaserMach.

The American Revolution and the Founding Fathers come to rich life in the popular animated series, Libertys Kids . Written under the supervision of Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian Jack Rakove, this acclaimed and educational entry is being released to take advantage of heightened political and historical interest during the upcoming election cycle.
Vibrantly depicting key events from the annals of American history as seen through the eyes of three kids who work in Benjamin Franklins print shop, LIBERTYS KIDS: THE COMPLETE SERIES offers rich animation and engaging storytelling, not to mention an incredible, star-spangled voice cast featuring Walter Cronkite (Benjamin Franklin), Annette Bening (Abigail Adams), Warren Buffet (James Madison), Billy Crystal (John Adams), Michael Douglas (Patrick Henry), Whoopi Goldberg (Deborah Samson), Dustin Hoffman (Benedict Arnold), Liam Neeson (John Paul Jones), Maria Shriver (Peggy Shippen), Ben Stiller (Thomas Jefferson), Arnold Schwarzenegger (Baron von Steuben), Sylvester Stallone (Paul Revere), Michael York (Admiral Lord Howe) and General Norman Schwarzkopf (George Rogers Clark), among others. Music sensation Aaron Carter lends his voice as Joseph Plumb Martin and performs the theme song.
Featuring all 40 action-packed episodes and a wealth of bonus content, including behind-the-scenes footage in a 6-DVD Collectors Set, LIBERTYS KIDS: THE COMPLETE SERIES tells the stories that make up the fabric of American history and the ideals on which our country was built -- patriotism, freedom and democracy and that we all face today.

PETER JACKSONS WETA WORKSHOP!
In the 9th-Century English kingdom of Kippernium, adolescent girls are typically raised to be Ladies-in-Waiting. But Jane isnt exactly the kingdoms typical 12-year old girl. No, she has much higher aspirations -- life as a brave knight! So, when Jane rescues Prince Cuthbert from a not-so-ferocious dragon, shes granted special permission to begin training as a knights apprentice with the gentle, wisecracking dragon by her side. And thus begins the fun-filled, flammable and memorable tales of the fair maiden, Jane Turnkey, and her best-friend, Dragon. And, on August 19, Shout! Factory catapults JANE AND THE DRAGON: A DRAGONS TALE onto DVD for the very first time in a single disc release featuring the first five episodes from this groundbreaking animated series adapted from Martin Bayntons popular childrens books. Priced to add to every family home entertainment library at $14.99srp, the DVD also features a cornucopia of extras fit for a king!
As seen on NBC, ION, Telemundo and qubo, JANE AND THE DRAGON translates the wonderful stories and whimsical illustrations of Bayntons books into an astonishing world of 3D computer-generated animation, using the latest in motion-capture technology and the award-winning talents of Weta Workshop (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong). And whether Jane and Dragon are searching the world for other elusive dragons, playing bandyball and rock, parchment and sword or getting into trouble throughout the kingdom, this series featuring lovable characters, engaging storylines, and wit reminiscent of the Shrek series may capture the attention of the entire family.

JOE HILL’S SMASH-HIT LOCKE & KEY SERIES COLLECTED IN HARDCOVER EDITION; NEW SERIES ON THE WAY
(San Diego, CA; September 11, 2008) – When novelist Joe Hill created his first-ever comic book series, Locke & Key, it took fans by surprise. The New York Times best-selling novelist had never created a new series expressly for comics before. But the book arrived to critical acclaim and to sold-out numbers. Further, it was optioned by Dimension Films. Now fans have a chance to experience the first storyline, Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft, in a deluxe hardcover edition.
Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft, featuring the stunning art of Gabriel Rodriguez (Clive Barker’s The Great and Secret Show), is being released on October 1 in a hardback edition that features the first six-issue storyline, a complete cover gallery, conceptual sketches by Rodriguez, and an all-new introduction from best-selling mystery novelist Robert Crais (Chasing Darkness)
Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft tells of the Locke family, who relocate after an unspeakable tragedy to Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them... and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all...
The Locke & Key story continues next year as well. Hill and Rodriguez pick up where this story leaves off with the next story in the ongoing saga, January’s Locke & Key: Head Games #1.
About creator Joe Hill, who has received the Bram Stoker Award for Best Fiction Collection and Best First Novel, the British Fantasy Award for Best Collection and Best Short Story, and the Sydney J. Bounds Best Newcomer Award, critics were unanimous in the praise:
“In a year of auspicious comics debuts, Joe Hill turned in one of the few comics that truly came from a different place. Written with skill that makes me jealous, courage that makes me smile, and honesty and brutality that makes me want to see what comes next. Okay, I'm officially a fan." – Eisner-winning writer Ed Brubaker
"Locke & Key is a breath of fresh air in the comic book industry. A modern suspense thriller meets something more wondrous and magical.” -- IGN.com
"Hill seems a natural at visual storytelling, not just managing a fabulous flow but also using the very tricks allowed by comics to enhance his overall plot." -- BrokenFrontier.com
"Solid pacing and plot twists, combined with Rodriguez’s clean lines and detail pencils make Locke & Key a lock for best horror book of the week.” -- Wizard Magazine
"Stands apart from the rest of the cookie-cutter comics on display these days." -- Detroit Metro Times
"The team of Hill and Rodriguez is top-notch." -- G4-TV
Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft, a 152-page, $24.99 hardcover, will be available on October 1. Diamond order code JUL08 4052.

IDW’S G.I. JOE LAUNCHES IN JANUARY 2009
WITH THREE-TIERED BATTLE PLAN;
OCTOBER’S G.I. JOE #0 TO REVEAL THREE NEW SERIES
(San Diego, CA; September 08, 2008) – When IDW Publishing announced they had reached a deal with Hasbro to plan a re-launch of the G.I. JOE comic book franchise, they kept their mission plans secret. But now, with the impending release of the kick-off issue, October’s specially priced G.I. JOE #0, it’s time to discuss the plans in detail.
G.I. JOE #0, a $1.00, 24-page comic being released next month, will debut three new series launching in early ’09. The issue contains three stand-alone five-page stories unique to the #0 issue, as well as character sketches and commentary from artist Robert Atkins, previews of upcoming covers, and interviews with the new G.I. JOE creators. The issue features two regular covers, one from Dave Dorman and one from JonBoy Meyers, as well as two special incentive covers from Atkins and a wraparound image by Ben Templesmith.
As to the content of the stories themselves, well, so far, the only news announced to fans has been the return of acclaimed G.I. JOE writer, Larry Hama and the addition of artist Atkins. While Hama is indeed back in the fold, he’s returning as part of a larger action team that will present these three initial comic book series in which G.I. JOE and COBRA are fully revitalized and re-established for a new generation of fans.
The first title to come storming out of the gate in January will be the singularly titled G.I.JOE, written by Chuck Dixon and featuring art by Atkins. This title moves ahead in the timeline from Hama’s series and looks at the fledging G.I. JOE organization as it explores an all-new threat, a shadowy organization that is first introduced to the team in a #0 issue story. Dave Johnson (100 Bullets) will provide covers for the series, as will Atkins. The first issue features a special wraparound variant cover by superstar artist Gabriele Dell’Otto (Secret War).
Larry Hama will be heading up G.I. JOE: ORIGINS, a series that re-envisions the G.I. JOE team for a new generation. Hama will be putting his great strength of blending strong characterization and action storytelling, honed over decades of writing these characters, to effective use in looking at the formations of the G.I. JOE organization and just who the characters on the team really are. Hama will be joined on this series by artist/colorist Tom Feister (Ex Machina). Each issue will come with two regular covers, one by Andrea Di Vito and one by Feister himself. The series launches in February.
Finally, launching in March will be the third round of this initial salvo: G.I. JOE: COBRA, a four-part miniseries written by Christos Gage and Mike Costa, with art by Antonio Fuso, and covers by Howard Chaykin (American Flagg) and Fuso. This series provides a unique look at the new status quo for the primary threat in the G.I. JOE universe. The series views the sinister COBRA organization from a ground-floor view as a familiar G.I. JOE team member seeks to infiltrate Cobra and learn their inner workings.
In addition to these titles, IDW will be launching comics that lead into next summer’s G.I. JOE live-action major motion picture from Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, as well as deluxe reprints of past fan-favorite tales. Details for both these projects will be released soon.
G.I. Joe #0 (item code AUG08 4120, a 24-page, $1 issue, will be available in October. G.I. Joe #1 launches in January 2009; G.I. Joe: Origins #1 debuts in February 2009; and G.I. Joe: Cobra #1 premieres in March 2009.

Greetings:
Matt Maxwell, author of the Strangeways books here. Just wanted to
send off a quick note to let you all know that I've made an official
announcement regarding the second Strangeways book. Strangeways: The
Thirsty is well underway now, and should begin an online serialization
(of one form or another) in the fall sometime, preceding a publication
of the print version in the middle of next year.
Strangeways: The Thirsty is written by myself, with art by Gervasio
and Jok (who did the artwork for "Lone", which was included in Murder
Moon). Luis Guaragna will return as well, providing art for a story
called "Red Hands," which in all likelihood will not get an online
publication. Steve Lieber has signed on to do the cover again.
Head over to the Strangeways weblog to check out the announcement:
http://www.highway-62.com/strangeways
And while you're there, you can check out the animated preview on
YouTube, as well as the first three pages of artwork (not yet
lettered, but the script is provided for folks who want a look behind
the scenes.)
I'll be sure to inform you all of further developments.
Thanks!

A MAMMOTH ON THE FREEWAY AND THE TEAM’S MOST TERRIFYING THREAT YET
-BBC AMERICA’s hit sci-fi series, Primeval, continues with massive adventures-
BBC AMERICA’s new thriller, Primeval, from the creator of Walking With Dinosaurs, is already a monster hit and the raptors haven’t even arrived yet. Since unexplained anomalies began ripping holes in the fabric of time, Professor Nick Cutter (Douglas Henshall) and his team have been facing off against savage creatures of the past in modern day. But now mankind faces its deadliest threat - a creature that’s never before walked the earth. Just as dangerous is the traitor in their midst and the lethal trap set for Cutter and his team. Who is the spy and what does his wife Helen’s (Juliet Aubrey) re-appearance have to do with it?
Primeval Season one finale airs Saturday, September 13, 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and Season two premieres Saturday, September 20, 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The adventure continues with anomalies appearing more frequently than ever as raptors rampage a shopping mall, a sabre-tooth tiger attacks a theme park and a mammoth stops traffic on a London freeway. So far, Cutter’s team has managed to come out unscathed, but when battling creatures from another time, how long can that last?
In the season one finale, at the original anomaly site, Special Forces discover an iron fence in ruins with no trace of what caused the damage. Meanwhile, at Abby’s (Hannah Spearritt) zoo, lions have gone missing, leaving behind only a small pool of blood and a large hole in the roof of the cage.
With danger looming, things are just as unsettling at government headquarters, where Claudia (Lucy Brown) is attempting to reassure Lester (Ben Miller) of Cutter’s capabilities. In the lab, the blood analysis taken from the lion pen turns out to be part bat and it’s baffling Connor (Andrew-Lee Potts) and the scientists - until Helen appears to reveal that this isn’t a prehistoric predator, it’s a ferocious beast from the future.
Tracking this highly intelligent animal, the most terrifying adversary yet, pushes the team to its limits. The battle takes Cutter through an anomaly, but he returns to find the world the same except for one difference - a team member no longer exists. Has Cutter’s actions in the past altered the present? Or has he in fact returned to the wrong present? Everyone appears oblivious to Cutter’s concerns. Just as he is coming to terms with the loss, he makes a shocking discovery when a new recruit arrives called Jenny Lewis…
