THE UNCLOTHED MAN IN THE 35TH CENTURY A.D.
Five -Episode Series will Premiere Exclusively on IFC.com in Conjunction with Fantagraphics Books Release in November 2009
THE UNCLOTHED MAN IN THE 35th CENTURY A.D., by DASH SHAW, will be promoted at the 2009 Book Expo America in New York City, May 29-31, with an appearance by the author on Friday, May 29, at 1:00PM at the Fantagraphics Booth and 4:00PM in the Autographing Area.
New York, NY – May 27, 2009 – IFC.com announced today that it will premiere an original animated web series based on graphic novelist and comic book artist Dash Shaw’s latest book The Unclothed Man in the 35th Century A.D., set for release mid-November, 2009 with the web series following. Shaw’s animation has been widely praised for its eclectic style, innovative design and emotional depth.
Each short episode of this five-part web series chronicles Rebel X-6, a man who works for a well-funded anti-droid organization. The fifth episode will provide behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the series. The premiere on IFC.com marks Dash Shaw’s first animated series and will be based on a story line he has developed for several years. Seattle’s Fantagraphics Books is set to publish a book by the same name and characters.
“Dash Shaw is a known entity in the comic book realm with a cult following. We’re excited to bring him, his art and his fans to IFC.com, a platform that recognizes and broadens the reach of up-and-coming, independent content makers,” said Craig Parks, vice president of digital media at IFC. “Shaw’s work on IFC.com will offer a fresh and completely unique take on the animation genre; the type of approach that defines our brand."
The series features an animated hero, Rebel X-6, and his quest to bring out change in the 35th century A.D.. Rebel X-6 works for an anti-droid organization that opposes the use of droids in all sectors of modern society. An artist guild that opposes the use of droids in art class hires Rebel X-6. They believe living people should model for life drawings. Rebel X-6’s assignment is to enter Art School 46 posing as “Model-Droid #343.” Model droids appear life-like but do not laugh, cry, swear or exhibit other human shortcomings. His mission is to subvert the school’s ban on drawings of real humans by tricking the students into drawing him.

We’re thrilled to bring this iconic show to BBC AMERICA, home of the best British sci-fi programming on television,” says President, BBC Worldwide America Garth Ancier.

19 February 2009 (Berkeley, CA) - MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS comes to an end this August as creator Mike Allred wraps up an entire series' worth of stories in a final blockbuster issue and his new album, THE GEAR: LEFT OF CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE, both featuring the return of characters from his highly praised hit RED ROCKET 7.
"MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS marks the end of an era, but definitely not the end of MADMAN at Image," Allred said. "MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS was a really fun time for me, Laura, Madman and friends. Working at Image gave us an unprecedented freedom with the book, allowing us to experiment like never before! I hope fans have enjoyed the trip thus far and will be back with us on the next leg once we get to it!"
MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS #17 wraps a nearly two year run for the series, the longest for Allred and MADMAN in terms of consecutive issues, seeing his beloved superhero series finish off stories in the making since its inception as well as experiment in ways it never has before. Allred's run produced some of the most acclaimed issues of his career, including his tribute to the entire history of comics wherein each panel featured a different style of a famous creator. The final issue will also tie in his RED ROCKET 7 series in continuity for the very first time, leading in to his second, long-awaited album, THE GEAR: LEFT OF CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE.
THE GEAR: LEFT CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE amps up the psychedelic space rock influences hinted at on the first album and features special guest musicians including The Dandy Warhol's Courtney Taylor-Taylor. Furthermore, August's release is a limited edition Direct Market exclusive released well in advance of the mainstream edition and will include tracks not available anywhere else, including iTunes. MADMAN will return in a different form at Image Comics to be announced at a later date.
MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS #17, a 32-page full color comic book for $3.50, will be in stores August 19th, 2009. THE GEAR: LEFT OF CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE, a full-length audio CD for $12.99 with a signed edition available for $24.99, will be in stores August 12th, 2009. The RED ROCKET 7 collection (paperback -JUL082187, hardcover - JUL082188), a 209-page full color paperback for $16.99 and hardcover for $49.99, is available now.

SOME ROOMATES ARE SCARIER THAN OTHERS
–The U.S. premiere of co-production, Being Human–
Mixing the mythic with the commonplace, the farcical with the horrific and the domestic with the epic, Being Human, a BBC AMERICA co-production, is a witty and extraordinary look into the lives of three twenty-somethings and their secret double-lives – as a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost. Russell Tovey (Doctor Who, The History Boys), Lenora Crichlow (Sugar Rush, Doctor Who) and Aidan Turner (The Clinic) star as housemates trying to live normal lives, despite their strange and dark secrets. Being Human premieres Saturday, July 25, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
George (Russell Tovey) and Mitchell (Aidan Turner) work in anonymous drudgery as hospital porters. They lead lives of quiet desperation under the burden of a terrible secret—Mitchell’s a vampire and George a werewolf. Deciding to start life afresh and leave behind the dark side, they move into a house, only to find that Annie, the ghost of a woman killed in mysterious circumstances, haunts it. As the monster threesome deals with the challenges of their new life together, they’re united in their desire to blend in with their human neighbors.
By all appearances, George is a mild-mannered and geeky guy - except for one night a month when he’s a flesh-hungry, predatory werewolf. Mitchell is good-looking, laid-back and, unlike George, has an easy confidence with the ladies. But he’s also suffering withdrawal from the blood he craves. Annie (Lenora Crichlow) is chatty, insecure and desperate for company and now that death has separated them, she longs for her fiancĂ©, who owns the house she haunts.
But with unwelcome intruders into their world, a threatened revolution from the vampire underworld and constant threats of exposure – on top of the day-to-day issues faced by young people – the only thing they may be able to rely on in their heightened world, is each other.
BBC AMERICA brings audiences a new generation of award-winning television featuring news with a uniquely global perspective, provocative dramas, razor-sharp comedies and life-changing makeovers. BBC AMERICA pushes the boundaries to deliver high quality, highly addictive and eminently watchable programming to viewers who demand more. BBC AMERICA is distributed by Discovery Networks. EPISODE SYNOPSES
*** SPOILER ALERT***
Episode one
As the series begins, the three friends seem to be having a somewhat normal life. Ghost Annie is buoyed by the fact she’s finally starting to be seen by ordinary people, rather than just by her housemates. Vampire Mitchell has sworn off blood, determined to kick the habit. Even the neurotic and anxious George is in relatively good spirits, putting his monthly transformation into a rampaging werewolf to the back of his mind. But it’s not long before their supernatural conditions catch up with them. The vampire world won’t leave Mitchell alone, and George, who considers the house a sanctuary from his affliction promptly tears his new home to shreds on the first full moon. Annie is heart-broken all over again when their landlord, her fiancĂ© Owen, pays a visit and reminds her of everything that she lost by dying.
Being Human premieres Saturday, July 25, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Episode two
George is shocked when he meets another werewolf, Tully (Dean Lennox Kelly, Shameless). Tully is the opposite of George—he’s perfectly content being a werewolf. He wants to teach George how to enjoy himself, but George just can’t accept what he’s become and is disgusted by Tully’s attitude. Unfortunately, Tully’s invited to stay at the house by Mitchell—a failed attempt on his part to embrace the world and be more human. Of course, he soon becomes the housemate from hell.
Episode two premieres Saturday, August 1, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Episode three
Annie meets another ghost, Gilbert, a Smiths fan who died in the mid-1980s. He loves being a ghost, and let’s Annie know she’s stuck in limbo because there is something unresolved about her death. Meanwhile, a nurse George works with is clearly interested in being more than friends, but he does not think, considering his situation, that he should be in a relationship. But as the full moon gets closer, and George’s animalistic tendencies take hold, he becomes more impulsive—and lusty.
Episode three premieres Saturday, August 8, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Episode four
Mitchell’s attempts to embrace humanity become even more intense when he befriends a 12-year-old boy, Bernie, and his divorced mom, Fleur, who live in the same street. The relationship reminds him of his own childhood, and what he’s become, and helps him to stay on the wagon. But things turn sour when Bernie is shocked to see a glimpse of Mitchell’s vampire existence. It’s not long before word gets around in the neighborhood, threatening to ruin the housemates’ desire for normality and acceptance. Meanwhile, Annie is traumatized by a shocking revelation about Owen. Her despair turns to anger when she learns Owen will be visiting the house to try and sort out the growing problems with the neighbors. Through her rage she discovers some powerful and uncontrollable skills. When confronted by Owen her fury develops into a lust for revenge.
Episode four premieres Saturday, August 15, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Episode five
The end of Mitchell’s friendship with Bernie has pushed him back towards the vampire fold.
He learns that the vampires are starting a mass conversion—they will only feed from people who want to be vampires themselves. But the truth is much darker than Mitchell could have ever dreamed. Meanwhile, George is trying to hide his identity from his now-girlfriend, and Annie is crumbling in her attempts to avenge Owen, who still has a firm hold on her emotions.
Episode five premieres Saturday, August 22, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Episode six
Vampire Mitchell is in the hospital following an almost-fatal attack on his doorstep. Mitchell does not want his friends involved in the inevitable showdown with his lethal attackers, but Annie bravely decides that she cannot just stand by without doing anything. But George is faced with a huge dilemma. Should he try to help Mitchell or should he flee and try to start a normal life with his girlfriend? He has to choose between his friend and his lover. He knows Mitchell will need all the help he can get, but the lure of a normal human life is so strong.
Episode six premieres Saturday, August 29, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.

IDW Announces New Star Trek® Series
Spock: Reflections
New four-issue miniseries begins in July
San Diego, CA (May 26, 2009) – Following the smash hit, Star Trek: Countdown, currently third on The New York Times Best Seller List, IDW is proud to announce its latest must-read Trek series, Spock: Reflections. The series sheds light on Spock’s life leading up to the new feature film, and offers key insights on this iconic character, as well as a startling revelation.
“The new movie offers so much new material for Star Trek fans that we knew we had to do more than just Countdown to help create as complete an experience as possible,” said Scott Dunbier, IDW’s Star Trek editor. “This series offers a candid and occasionally poignant look at Spock.”
In Spock: Reflections, writers Scott Tipton and David Tipton delve into the choices that led Spock to live on Romulus, where Countdown begins. Artist David Messina beautifully illustrates the flashbacks that shed light on Spock’s path. The four-issue miniseries will be available monthly, beginning in July.
“With a character as complex and well-known as Mr. Spock, there are the famous dramatic moments everyone remembers, and there’s still so much that lies undiscovered,” said Scott Tipton, the series’ co-writer. “In Reflections, we’re getting the opportunity here to take a look at some of the key moments between the famous moments, and really see what makes Spock’s character so – dare I say it – fascinating.”
Spock: Reflections is a licensed product of CBS Consumer Products.
Star Trek: Spock: Reflections #1 will be available in stores in July 2009.

Summer of Super Real
This summer the reality TV/comic book superhero mash-up, Super Real, returns to comic book shops with a new special issue series climax, and complete series graphic novel collection.
First appearing in November 2005, Super Real saw five issues released with raves from folks like Newsarama, Ain’t It Cool News, and Comics Buyer’s Guide, and featured guest creators including Jim Mahfood, and Josh Howard during it’s just over two year run. Now, this summer will see the release of both a new double-sized special issue, Super Real: Cast Change; the oversized series conclusion, and the 220 page graphic novel collection of the entire series; which includes the five previously released issues as well as the new special issue. For fans of the series, they can pick up the Super Real Cast Change special - a solid stand alone read that also happens to wrap up the book’s first storyline - via comic book shops and Haven Distribution (or directly from Super Real Graphics, both in print, and digitally). While new fans can pick up the complete 6 book run under one cover with the Super Real graphic novel - collecting the entire genetically enhanced, nipple twisting, lethal middle finger flipping, over-the-top mix of comic book fiction, pop culture, politics, and ultra-violence - via comic book shops and Diamond Distribution. Each book is listed in the respective May catalogs from the distributors.
In today’s ever changing independent comic book landscape, Super Real is a self published success story, that’s found critical favor, showcased independent talent, and told a unique and subversive story, from start to finish, all on comic shop racks… a feat that may not soon be repeated. Take a look at what the book has to offer today, either in the May Diamond Previews catalog, the May Haven Comics! Catalog, or at the book’s website, superrealgraphics.com, where you’ll find the complete first issue, previews from the graphic novel/individual issues, and much more.

Digital Comic Books NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE iPHONE AND ipod touch FROM WARNER BROS. DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION
“Terminator Salvation” Digital Graphic Novel Debuts; Fans Can Read the Prequel to One of the Most Anticipated Films on Their iPhone and iPod touch in Rich Detail
Burbank, Calif., May 21, 2009 – Warner Bros. Digital Distribution today announced the availability of the division’s first digital comic book “Terminator Salvation” for the iPhone and iPod touch. Published by IDW, written by Dara Naraghi (“Lifelike”) and art by Alan Robinson, this must-read multi-part graphic novel details a series of events that have transpired since Judgment Day and culminates with the story found in “Terminator Salvation” from Warner Bros. Pictures. The digital graphic novel is now available on the Apple App Store (www.itunes.com / http://tinyurl.com/ogv8n2) for $0.99 for each of five episodes or $3.99 for the full collection.
Created by leading app developer Genus, the “Terminator Salvation” prequel uses the powerful Kamikaze: Le Edition engine. This technology allows comic book images to be scaled down without loss of resolution or fidelity. It also provides comic book fans with the ability to easily flip through pages by shaking their wrist and zoom in and out by “pinching” the screen.
“We see digital comics as an exciting new growth category,” said Thomas Gewecke, president, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. “Consumers want to extend the print experience to their handheld media devices and the iPhone and iPod touch are ideal platforms for delivering rich, immersive, visual experiences. We expect the “Terminator Salvation” prequel to be the first of many digital comic releases over the coming year.”
The “Terminator Salvation” prequel, which includes a comic adaptation of the film’s opening scene, is the first of many digital comics that will be launched on the Apple App store from Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. Future series will include classic cartoons as well as well-known action titles.

For Immediate Release
FANTAGRAPHICS BOOKS ANNOUNCES THE ACQUISITION OF THIS SIDE OF JORDAN, A NOVEL BY MONTE SCHULZ
THIS SIDE OF JORDAN, by MONTE SCHULZ, will be unveiled at the 2009 Book Expo America in New York City, May 29-31, with an appearance by the author on Saturday, May 30, at 2:30PM in the Autographing Area.
SEATTLE, WA, MAY 20, 2009 --- This September, Fantagraphics Books is proud to publish This Side of Jordan, by Monte Schulz, only the second original prose novel (following 2007’s Laura Warholic by Alexander Theroux) in the company’s 33-year history.
This Side of Jordan is a tapestry of American life in the summer before the economic crash of 1929, and a quintessential novel of the rural Midwest offered unexpectedly as a crime thriller. Full of American landscapes and totems, images and notions, foibles and fables, beasts and the blessed, it follows the experiences of 19-year-old tubercular farm boy Alvin Pendergast. The novel begins with an ill-fated dance marathon and a chance encounter with a slick con artist and gangster named Chester Burke. Fearing relapse of his consumption and a return to the sanitarium that had already stolen a year of his life, Alvin imprudently follows Chester across the Mississippi River only to enter a vortex of criminal violence and deceit.
With Alvin in tow, Chester’s insouciant disregard for life serves him well during a series of bank robberies and senseless murders, the sociopathic gangster assuming the role of a dark angel on Judgment Day, cleansing the scrolls of those whose sad fortune draws them across his path. Too ill to flee, too morally weak to object, Alvin resigns himself to what seems like certain doom. Fortunately, Alvin finds another companion on the road, a lonely, eccentric, and grandiloquent dwarf named Rascal, whose own infirmity binds their destinies together. Eventually, the young farm boy must make a decision: stick with Chester, who will surely kill him at the slightest hint of betrayal, or muster the courage to stake his life on faith in Rascal’s clever plan to save them both.
Monte Schulz is the son of Charles M. Schulz, creator of Peanuts, and in This Side of Jordan one of his ambitions was to recreate the time of his mother’s and father’s Jazz Age childhood, when America was making the irresistible transition from rural to urban life.
“When I was in my early twenties, and Dad saw that I was developing an interest in writing, he showed me some of the beautiful passages of Thomas Wolfe and John Steinbeck, and lent me his copies of Complete Poems by Carl Sandburg and Edgar Lee Masters’ Spoon River Anthology, and Joan Didion’s Slouching Towards Bethlehem. He told me the writer’s gift is to be able to express for people certain ideas and emotions they cannot express for themselves,” says Schulz.
Told in the voice of a lost generation hurtling toward the Great Depression, This Side of Jordan evokes crowded Main Streets and tourist camps, miles of cornfields, rural churches and musty parlors, with the momentum of a freight train, but delivered in the seductive, rhythmic tradition of Southern lyricism reminiscent of Flannery O’Connor and Truman Capote.
Fantagraphics publisher Gary Groth said he was leery when Schulz asked him to read the novel “because, after all, how does the publisher of The Complete Peanuts reject a novel by Charles Schulz’s son?” After reading it, however, he was “bowled over by the beauty of the prose and Monte’s command over every aspect of the form. It isn’t hyperbolic to say that Monte is as good a writer as his father is a cartoonist. That’s why we wanted to publish it.”
This Side of Jordan is Schulz’s second novel. His first, Down by the River, was published by Viking in 1991. Library Journal raved that it compared to Stand by Me and Twin Peaks, and seemed "ready-made for Hollywood." He spent ten years writing Crossing Eden, from which This Side Of Jordan is drawn as the first of three interconnected novels; the second and third, Fields of Eden and The Big Town, will be published in 2010 and 2011. This Side of Jordan will be published as a jacketed hardcover this September by Fantagraphics Books, with a painted cover by noted cartoonist Al Columbia. Schulz will make his first public appearance promoting the novel at the 2009 Book Expo America, signing galleys on Saturday, May 30, at 2:30PM in the convention’s autographing area. A West Coast tour will follow in the Fall (dates and locations t.b.a.).
Schulz received his M.A. in American Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He lives in Northern California.
Fantagraphics Books ( www.fantagraphics.com ) has been the world’s leading publisher of comics and graphic novels since 1976, with titles including The Complete Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz. In 2007, the company launched its prose division, beginning with novels by Alexander Theroux (Laura Warholic) and Jules Feiffer (a reissue of the noted artist’s 1963 novel, Harry, the Rat with Women).

ZOMBIE TALES 2061
COMES BACK TO LIFE THIS JULY
ACADEMY AWARD-NOMINATED WRITER KIM KRIZAN'S
CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED
EPIC ZOMBIE SAGA
COLLECTED FOR THE FIRST TIME
May 19th, 2009 - Los Angeles, CA - The living dead walk among us! Zombies have taken over the planet! Humans only exist as novelty attractions… or worse. But today is the day of revolution and soon the tide will turn on undead supremacy! Enter the world of ZOMBIE TALES 2061. From Academy Award-nomintated writer Kim Krizan (BEFORE SUNRISE, BEFORE SUNSET) comes an epic saga ripped from the pages of the critically acclaimed ZOMBIE TALES anthology and collected in one volume for the first time!
Best known for writing the generation definining romance movies BEFORE SUNRISE and BEFORE SUNSET, Krizan jumped into the horror genre with both feet, delivering a unique new vision of the zombie apocalypse for Zombie Tales: The Series #1. Originally planned as just an 8 pager and slotted between stories from more seasoned horror vets Steve Niles and Joe R. Lansdale, critics and fans spotlighted Krizan's freshman horror venture and clamored for a sequel. Krizan immediately expanded her Zombie universe into a triptych, finally collected in one easy reading volume with ZOMBIE TALES 2061.
"When horror tastemaker RUE MORGUE MAGAZINE begs for a sequel, you know you have a hit on your hands," said Publisher Ross Richie. "I really don't think people have seen as an original take on Zombies since Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. That is how blown away I was by this book."
"It was great fun for me to write '2061' and it's an honor to have it collected," said ZOMBIE TALES writer Kim Krizan. "Though it seemed on the surface to be a light, fun project, it really gets to the heart of what I believe about our species. For me, zombie dominance is now!"
Outside garnering an Academy Award nomination for BEFORE SUNSET, Krizan also acted in the cult films SLACKER, DAZED AND CONFUSED and WAKING LIFE. Her turn as high school teacher Ginny Stroud in DAZED AND CONFUSED led her to speak the immortal lines "...this summer when you're being inundated with all this American bicentennial Fourth Of July brouhaha, don't forget what you're celebrating, and that's the fact that a bunch of slave-owning, aristocratic, white males didn't want to pay their taxes."
When asked about the rumor of a Zombified follow-up to the BEFORE SUNRISE franchise, Krizan had no comment.
ZOMBIE TALES 2061 features 24 pages of interior art by newcomer Jon Reed and a cover by Patrick McEvoy. SRP: $3.99, Diamond Order Code: MAY090726

David Wohl joins Radical as new Editor-In-Chief
May 18th, 2009, LOS ANGELES – In a bold new shift in direction, Radical Comics has brought on former Top Cow President and Editor-In-Chief David Wohl as their new Editor-In-Chief. Wohl replaces former Radical Editor-In-Chief Dave Elliott, who will continue at Radical in the new position of Special Projects Editor.
With over twenty years of experience in the industry, David Wohl was responsible for bringing numerous fan-favorite Top Cow titles to the shelves, co-creating and writing The Darkness, Aphrodite IX as well as the critically acclaimed Witchblade franchise, even serving as the producer of the Witchblade television series. “Ever since Radical burst on the scene, I was instantly impressed by their talent roster, the consistent high level of quality and their commitment to putting out great comics. When the opportunity arose to come onboard, I didn’t even need to give it a second thought. From top to bottom, Radical Publishing is the class of the industry, and I’m proud to be part of the team.” stated Wohl.
Wohl’s enthusiasm for joining the Radical family was echoed by the company’s President and Publisher Barry Levine. “David brings a wealth of experience in the industry to our relatively new company and everyone here is very excited to have him on board,” remarked Levine. “With our recent Gem Award for ‘Best New Publisher’ and a lineup of upcoming titles featuring the likes of Rick Remender, David Hine and Nick Simmons for the year, David is the guy to help take Radical to that next level.”
As Wohl helps to continue Radical’s success by assuming the responsibilities of Editor-In-Chief, former Radical Editor-In-Chief Dave Elliott will be taking on the new position of Radical’s Special Projects editor. This integral new position will have Elliott applying his vast publishing experience and love of comics to both finding and developing new projects for Radical while working closely with existing key talent on current projects such as Steve Niles’ follow-up to City of Dust and the second chapter of Sam Sarkar’s Caliber.
"With Radical growing in leaps and bounds, I just couldn't continue doing the job from New York any longer. We needed our man in Havana and I'm really happy it's David,” says Elliott. “My focus will be to continue to bring in the best talent out there while also allowing me to get back to my creative roots. I'll be co-writing CALIBER and the next PHILIP KHROME story with Sam Sarkar and Steve Niles. These are two worlds that I have gotten to know very well and am extremely happy to be allowed to further contribute to them."
About Radical Publishing
Radical Publishing is founded by Barry Levine (producer for Hercules, Caliber, Freedom Formula and executive producer for the in-development Rex Mundi movie for Warner Bros., written by Jim Uhls and starring Johnny Depp) and his protégé Jesse Berger (executive producer for Hercules, Caliber and Freedom Formula).
For their quality and excellence in 2008, retailers voted Radical Publishing the Gem Award for “Best New Publisher of the Year” from Diamond Comic Distributors. Radical brings the best writing, storytelling and fully painted cover and interior art to the global comic book market, from prominent international talents such as Yoshitaka Amano, John Bolton, Luis Royo, Jim Steranko, Steve Pugh, Warren Ellis, Arthur Suydam, Steve Niles, Jimmy Palmiotti, Flint Dille, Marko Djurdjevic, Ian Edginton, David Hine, Rick Remender, Joseph Kosinski, Nick Percival, Steve Moore, Sam Sarkar, Stjepan Sejic, Dave Wilkins, Tomm Coker, Clayton Crain, Bill Sienkiewicz, Nick Sagan, Clint Langley, Nick Simmons, Patrick Reilly, Weta Workshop, Zombie Studios and many more.
Radical Publishing currently has production deals with Universal Studios, Spyglass Entertainment, Peter Berg’s Film 44 and Radical Pictures for Hercules; Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil and Radical Pictures for Caliber; and New Regency, Bryan Singer’s Bad Hat Harry Productions and Radical Pictures for Freedom Formula.

WHITE HOUSE LEADERS OBAMA, BIDEN AND BO FEATURED IN COMIC BOOK SERIES
President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and First Dog Bo Obama will be the next subjects featured in comic books from Bluewater Productions.
President Obama and Vice President Biden will be the newest additions to the “Political Power” biographical series that showcases influential people in politics. Bo will star in his own comic book written for children.
“Political Power: Barack Obama” was painted by award-winning artist Azim Akberali and written by Chris Ward. The book will be available in August featuring two different covers. Barack Obama’s story inspired a nation, but you’ve never seen it told like this.
“Political Power: Joe Biden” was written by Wey-Yuih Loh and drawn by Jonathan Rector. The cover was drawn by Vinnie Tartamella. It will be released in September. “Political Power: Joe Biden” takes a close look at one of the toughest journeys in American politics, exploring his earlier years as a US senator and the emotional rollercoaster he faced in becoming America's youngest member of congress.
Also scheduled for release in September is “Puppy Power: Bo Obama,” written by Paul J. Salamoff and drawn by Emmy Award winning Disney and Warner Brothers artist Keith Tucker. In his book, Bo gives children an insider’s look at the White House. Readers will discover who is the real “top dog” in Washington. There will also be two covers for the “Puppy Power: Bo Obama” comic by “Female Force: Michelle Obama” artist Joshua Labello and Keith Tucker.
Popular demand for the first two comic books in Bluewater’s “Female Force” series, featuring Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin, sent both titles into a third printing. The latest installment, about Michelle Obama, also headed for a second printing.
The biographical comic series has drawn a firestorm of media attention in the past month, including features on “Live with Regis and Kelly,” CNN, MSNBC and Fox News, and in People magazine, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, USA Today and thousands of blogs and other media outlets.
Two more political biographies, featuring Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice, are in production and scheduled for release in the coming months.

CREATED HORROR.
FIND OUT HOW HORROR CREATED HIM.
THE SECRET BEHIND "POE" WILL BE REVEALED THIS JULY.
"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before."
- Edgar Allan Poe
May 18th, 2009 - Los Angeles, CA - Many know Edgar Allen Poe as not only the father of modern horror, but also the creator of the detective genre. But did you know he was a detective himself? Enter the world of new BOOM! Studios series POE and follow the famous author of darkness as he tracks a supernatural killer ravaging the streets of Baltimore!
Written by skilled newcomer J. Barton Mitchell, POE #1 features art by fan-favorite Dean Kotz and sports two variant covers by superstars Declan Shalvey -- artist on the Eagle award-winning HERO KILLERS -- and IRREDEEMABLE cover artist Jeffery Spokes!
"This is one of the most unique ideas I've seen cross my table" said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Mark Waid. "There's always so much about our classic writers we don't know, and examining their works and their history can reveal new information, but that's hardly any fun! POE is alternate history with a horror twist, and is perfect for fans of mysteries."
BOOM!'s new four issue mini-series reveals Poe's relationship with famous characters and stories from his body of work -- like The Raven, the Mask of the Red Death, and many more! Similar to the way SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE showed how William Shakespeare was inspired by his own life events to create some of his creative masterworks, POE takes Edgar Allen Poe on a supernatural adventure that proves to be the fodder for his life's greatest accomplishments in literature.
"Poe's Dupin predates Sherlock Holmes, who many attribute to be the first great detective," said POE writer J. Barton Mitchell. "But Holmes borrows from Poe's formula, a man trapped by a system of man and murder, and trying to rationalize his way out. I think POE gives us the perfect opportunity to look not only at our pulpy genres, but also take a look in the mirror."
"Whatever you are thinking, think again," Marketing and Sales Director Chip Mosher. "This book will grab you by the throat, shake you around and toss you across the room. It is that good. "
