These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by communication difficulties, social and behavioral challenges, as well as repetitive behaviors. An estimated 1 in 88 children in the U.S. is on the autism spectrum – a 78 percent increase in six years that is only partly explained by improved diagnosis.

IT'S A TRIPLE SELL-OUT FOR IMAGE COMICS

Second printings for BLACKACRE #1, I LOVE TROUBLE #1, GREAT PACIFIC #2

BLACKACRE #1, I LOVE TROUBLE #1, and GREAT PACIFIC #2 won't hit stands until December 5, but all copies at the distributor are spoken for. Kel Symon's and Mark Robinson's I LOVE TROUBLE is a fun and introspective take on super powers.

GREAT PACIFIC, a hit with retailers, readers, and reviewers alike, is the story of a privileged young man who decides to make a difference in the world — by proclaiming the Great Pacific Garbage Patch a sovereign nation! GREAT PACIFIC #2, in addition to selling out early, has a coveted Phantom Variant cover that will be sold in limited quantities in select stores.

FIGHTING YOUR INNER DEMONS IN REPOSSESSED

Exorcism is a blue-collar job in new Image Comics mini-series

A plague of demons getting you down? Has a loved one started gibbering in the inscrutable language of Hell? Not to worry—there are people trained to cast out those spirits! In January 2013, Image Comics will introduce you to the Dee Agency and three of its tough-as-demon-claws agents in REPOSSESSED, a raucous new mini-series by JM Ringuet (TRANSHUMAN).

No-nonsense Joe, swaggering Clay, and whip-smart Martha are the best repo team at Dee Agency. Their demon-vanquishing gear consists of big guns, bigger grimoires, and a good supply of silver bullets and saints' teeth—and they know how to use them! (Though Clay does tend to be heavy on the bombastic combat talk). They'll need all of their skills to complete a seemingly easy mission to repossess a rich girl who has run away to Las Vegas—because this is one case of something that happens in Vegas not staying in Vegas.

REPOSSESSED is a supernatural action-fest, with the wryness of Hellboy and the badass attitude of classic Grindhouse films—exactly what Ringuet wanted to create.

"What I wanted to do was to create a packed fun action thrill-ride, something that would feel like barreling down a highway in a muscle car with loud rock music blasting from the radio and a bunch of friends laughing in the backseat," said Ringuet, who both writes and illustrates REPOSSESSED. "I wanted to make it explosive, surprising, funny, with something new on every page."

The first issue of this Dodge Charger (with a sweet flame paint job) of a comic is due in stores on January 9. Pre-order it at your local comics store from the November issue of Previews now, and save yourself the race down the interstate to snag the last issue on the shelves!

LOS ANGELES - December 3, 2012 - Rod Stewart has just announced plans to launch his eagerly anticipated "Live the Life" tour in North America this Spring. Stewart will be joined by legendary artist, Steve Winwood for an unstoppable evening of hits from two of rock music's most seminal artists.  The "Live the Life" tour is set to kick-off in Chicago on April 10 and play ten arenas throughout North America including dates in New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Atlanta, Detroit and Greensboro, NC.

Tickets for the tour go on sale beginning Saturday, December 8th.   For all concerts except Greensboro, NC, fans can purchase tickets via aeglive.com; for Greensboro, tickets can be purchased through livenation.com.

Rod Stewart confirmed the tour during an interview on Live! With Kelly and Michael saying, "I'm thrilled to be touring with Steve Winwood.  He is truly part of the rock and roll's enduring tapestry."

The announcement of the "Live the Life" tour caps-off one of the most successful and critically-acclaimed 12 months of Stewart's career - most recently with the release of his first holiday album, Merry Christmas, Baby, which scored him his 16th Top 10 album on the Billboard 200 and includes the #1 AC hit single "Let It Snow." Coinciding with the album release this fall, Stewart became a New York Times bestselling author with the release of his critically heralded first memoir, ROD: The Autobiography and in September returned to his sold-out residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace  - adding concerts through February 2013.  Stewart's year began on a high note with his second induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside the Faces, followed by his reuniting with Stevie Nicks to reprise their chart-topping tour. Earlier in the month he also revealed that he's nearly completed work on his first original rock studio album in almost 20 years.

Joining Stewart for the tour is special guest, Steve Winwood, a fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famer who was a key member of seminal groups The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, supergroup Blind Faith and Go.  Throughout his extraordinary five decade career, Winwood has won two Grammy Awards and was hailed #33 on the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time by Rolling Stone Magazine in 2008 for his hits such as "Gimme Some Lovin," "Dear Mr Fantasy," "Can't Find My Way Home," and "Higher Love."

ROBERT PATTINSON STARS IN DAVID CRONENBERG'S TOUR DE FORCE BASED ON DON DELILLO'S PROPHETIC NOVEL, ARRIVING ON BLU-RAY
AND DVD ON JANUARY 1 FROM ENTERTAINMENT ONE

COSMOPOLIS

C0-Starring Oscar® Winner Juliette Binoche, Nominees Paul Giamatti and Samantha Morton and Jay Baruchel, the Release is Loaded with Extras Including a "Citizens of Cosmopolis" Featurette, Audio Commentary with David Cronenberg and Interviews with the Cast and Crew[1]

From director David Cronenberg (A History of Violence, Dead Ringers, Eastern Promises) and based on the prophetic novel by Don DeLillo, comes COSMOPOLIS, a contemporary thriller that turns into a wild, hypnotic odyssey through our new millennium's obsessions with power, money, control, information, technology, violence, sex, mortality, revolution, destruction and ultimately, redemption. Available on New Year's Day 2013, Entertainment One presents this acclaimed 2012 U.S. theatrical release on Blu-ray and DVD, packed with extras including a "Citizens of Cosmopolis" featurette, audio commentary with director Cronenberg and interviews with the cast and crew.

Unfolding in a single cataclysmic day, the story follows Eric Packer (Robert Pattinson, Water For Elephants, The Twilight Saga) - a 28-year old financial whiz kid and billionaire asset manager - as he heads out in his tricked-out stretch limo to get a haircut from his father's old barber, while remotely wagering his company's massive fortune on a bet against the Chinese Yuan. Packer's luxe trip across the city quickly becomes dizzyingly hellish as he encounters explosive city riots, a parade of provocative visitors, and is thrust into a myriad of intimate encounters. Having started the day with everything, believing he is the future, Packer's perfectly ordered, doubt-free world is about to implode.

Joining Pattinson in the all-star international cast are Academy Award®-winner Juliette Binoche (Chocolat, The English Patient, Dan in Real Life), Academy Award®-nominees Paul Giamatti (The Ides of March, Sideways, "John Adams") and Samantha Morton (The Messenger, In America), Sarah Gadon (A Dangerous Method), Cesar-winner Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), Kevin Durand (Real Steel), and Jay Baruchel (The Trotsky).

The creative team includes many of Cronenberg's long-time collaborators, including Director of Photography Peter Suschitzky (A History of Violence), Production Designer Arv Greywal (Lars and the Real Girl), Costume Designer Denise Cronenberg (Eastern Promises), and Composer Howard Shore (The Lord of The Rings trilogy), who wrote original music for COSMOPOLIS in collaboration with Metric and K'Naan. COSMOPOLIS is a Canada-France co-production by Paulo Branco (Mysteries of Lisbon)
through Alfama Films Production (Paris) and Martin Katz (Hotel Rwanda) of Prospero
Pictures (Toronto).

IDW and 2000 AD Take DREDD Back to YEAR ONE!
The Legendary Lawman’s Early Days to Be Chronicled in Upcoming Miniseries!
December 3, 2012 San Diego, CA (December 3, 2012) – Though Judge Joseph Dredd’s exploits have changed the post-apocalyptic sprawl of Mega-City One forever, there was a Mega-City One before Dredd ever hopped aboard a Lawmaster. In March 2013’s JUDGE DREDD: YEAR ONE, Eagle Award-winning 2000 AD Editor-in-Chief Matt Smith takes up arms with Dredd veterans Simon Coleby on interiors and Greg Staples on covers to deliver the thrilling exploits of a younger Judge Dredd!

One would be hard pressed to call the young Dredd “fresh-faced” or “eager,” but there is certainly a learning curve to policing Mega-City One’s vast and vicious criminal element. This thrilling period of Dredd’s career was previously explored by Smith in Judge Dredd: Year One – City Fathers, the hit e-novella published by 2000 AD earlier this year, but was immediately recognized as an avenue perfectly suited for a different story told through a comic-book miniseries.

“Dredd's a notoriously difficult character to get the voice right—and it becomes even more of a challenge when you're writing him as an eighteen year old, fresh out of the Academy,” said Matt Smith. “But it's been great fun charting his early cases, feeding into the stories the elements that will go on to make him Mega-City's most feared lawman. And it's terrific to have Simon Coleby on board, a superb artist and well experienced in portraying the madness of the future metropolis.”

In “The Long, Hard Road,” Smith and Coleby tell a tale where “all the young juves, carry the news,” only in this case, that news is that juves across sector start manifesting psychic abilities. Dredd must team up for the first time with Psi-Division to combat the spreading chaos. But just what is causing the psi-outbreaks as it crosses the dimensions—and what does it have in store for Mega-City One?

By taking to the comics page and telling a new tale from Dredd’s early years on the force, IDW and 2000 AD are thrilled to be bringing fans a Dredd story the likes of which they’ve never seen; not to mention a rare look at the kind of harrowing futuristic criminal saga that built Dredd’s signature grimace. Like the old saying goes, “You can’t strike fear into the deranged heart of a criminal underbelly without breaking a few legs.”
“Matt Smith has been doing a masterful job of steering Judge Dredd’s exploits for years, and his e-novella showed he was equally adept at serving as chronicler as well as editor,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief. “And the story Matt’s telling in this miniseries is a very different tale of Dredd’s first year than his prose story, but both combine to add relevant details and backstory to the character of Judge Dredd.”

In addition to the stellar team of Mega City One veterans on the book, dedicated Dredd fans will also find variant covers by Cerebus mastermind Dave Sim and Dredd co-creator Carlos Ezquerra in the offing! Fans are urged to appear at their nearest comic shop for judgment, lest they face eternity in the iso-cubes!

JUDGE DREDD: YEAR ONE #1 (FC, 32 pages, $3.99). In stores 3/27/13

About Red Bull Crashed Ice – Ice Cross Downhill World Championship
Take some of the best and toughest ice-hockey players in the world, place them in a sizzling atmosphere with stunning surroundings, and build a downhill race track with tons of steel and a huge cooling system with thousands of square meters / feet of frozen water, and a Red Bull Crashed Ice “arena” is made. Since the first ever race in 2001, Red Bull Crashed Ice has become the most breathtaking winter sports events in the world. Ice Cross Downhill aces hurtle down courses up to 500 meters / 1600 feet in length in groups of four, shoulder to shoulder, as skaters fight it out for victory. The whole race is held on a steep downhill track dotted with chicanes, jumps and rollers. Pushing, sliding, sprinting and wrangling are all on the menu as the athletes race down the course, but the rules are, in fact, very simple: first to the bottom wins.

If science is the new rock 'n' roll (and it is), then NOWHERE MEN #1 has done its part to usher in the new cool by selling out at the distribution level the same day as its release, November 28. The issue will receive a second printing, to be in stores on January 9.
The premiere of the new sci-fi pop-art mash-up by Image Publisher Eric Stephenson, artist Nate Bellegarde, and colorist Jordie Bellaire, NOWHERE MEN was already being roundly praised on the day of its release. iFanboy called it "a complete experience that's unlike anything else on the stands," and it was the Pick of the Week at Multiversity Comics. IGN said, "Nowhere Men is going somewhere, and it seems to be a trip worth taking. At Crave Online, a review proclaimed that "Stephenson's concept is rock solid, and it forms an instant connection with the reader" and Mediocrity is the New Genius said, "Stephenson has given us just enough story here to make us crave more." Read Comic Books gives the issue a perfect "10," saying "Image seems to have another winner on its hands."
A riveting story of scientific hubris, stand-out art, and slick pop-art design by Fonografiks makes NOWHERE MEN #1 the complete package—and the all-new cover of issue #1's second printing is just as striking as the original cover. NOWHERE MEN #2 , which carries the tantalizing—if foreboding—tagline "There are fates worse than death," will be in stores on December 19

NOWHERE MEN is also available digitally on the Image Comics app.

CHEW #30 GETS DEVOURED

Issue sold out, to be reprinted in January collection

CHEW #30, which closes out the "Space Cakes" story arc, sold out at the distributor level on the same day of its release, November 28. Fans of the series, by John Layman and Rob Guillory, should rush to their local comic book stores to pick up issue #30, which will be reprinted only in CHEW VOLUME SIX: SPACE CAKES, the trade paperback out on December 19, and volume three of the CHEW: THE OMNIVORE EDITION, out in March.

CHEW #30 is a milestone issue, the halfway point in a planned 60-issue run of the popular dramedy about a family with a very special relationship with food. (It is in development as a television series with Showtime.) Comic Book Resources, noting the series' layered storytelling, says of the issue in a four-star review: "You'll read it once for the roller coaster ride, and then immediately read it a second time in a different light, knowing the impact the issue's outcome places on the earlier events."

The second half of the series begins with CHEW #31 — and a funeral. It will be in stores on January 23. Readers should get their pre-orders in now to be sure they get a copy of what is sure to be another fast-selling issue.

CHEW is also available digitally on comiXology, Graphic.ly, and ComicsPlus.
