DYNAMITE AND ELECTRIC ENTERTAINMENT PARTNER
TO BRING TNT'S THE LIBRARIANS TO COMICS!

Hit Television Series to Continue in Canonical Comic Book Series in Late 2017!

March 21, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment, the leading publisher of licensed comic books, announces today an exclusive partnership with Electric Entertainment to develop the hit television series The Librarians into an all-new series of comics and graphic novels!

Based on TNT's hit movie franchise of the same name, The Librarians centers on an ancient organization hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library, dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around. Rebecca Romijn (X-Men), Christian Kane (TNT's Leverage, Angel), Lindy Booth (Dawn of the Dead, The Philanthropist) and John Harlan Kim (Neighbors, The Pacific) star in the series as the newest protectors of the world's mystical treasures, with Emmy® winner John Larroquette (Night Court, Deception) as their reluctant caretaker. Noah Wyle, who originated the role of Flynn Carsen, one of the longest-surviving librarians in the mythology created in TNT's hit movie trilogy, has recurred throughout the series and continues to serve as an executive producer.

The Librarians first aired on TNT and burst onto the scene with a chart-topping launch in 2014. It went on to finish the year as the #2 new series on basic cable. The show's success has prompted TNT to order an additional 12 new episodes for the fourth season, which is slated to launch later this year.

"I was hooked on this exciting series from the first TNT movie," says Dynamite CEO and Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "Noah Wyle's character recalls everything I loved about Indiana Jones, and the cast of the series is phenomenal. The cast dynamics and premise are perfect for comic books, and I am thrilled that Dynamite Entertainment will have the opportunity to expand on this rich world in a series certain to reward longtime fans and newcomers alike!"

"We couldn't be happier to partner with the artists and storytellers at Dynamite Entertainment on this series of comic books for The Librarians. This is a perfect way for our fans to follow their favorite characters as they explore new and exciting stories," says Electric Entertainment CEO Dean Devlin.

Look for further news on the release date and creative team in the coming months, with the fourth season of the hit series to premiere later this year!

GAIL SIMONE AND CAT STAGGS LAUNCH
ALL-NEW SERIES CROSSWIND THIS JUNE

Goodfellas meets Freaky Friday in this mind-bending new ongoing series

“Great, kinetic, mind-warping work.”
—Ian Rankin, bestselling author of the Inspector Rebus novels

PORTLAND, OR, 03/21/2017 — Image Comics is thrilled to announce CROSSWIND, the brand-new ongoing thriller from fan-favorites Gail Simone (Red Sonja, Secret Six) and Cat Staggs (Wonder Woman ‘77, Smallville Season 11), arriving in stores this June.

A slick and ruthless Chicago hitman.

A smart but downtrodden Seattle housewife.

When an inexplicable event strikes these two random strangers, their bodies, souls, and lives are switched—to potentially deadly effect.

“This is possibly the most thrilling project of my career, and Cat Staggs brought her best stomping boots to the game; she's absolutely killing it,” said Simone. “There's nothing else quite like it. It smells of gunpowder, nitro, and one-hour hotel rooms. It's wrong and messed up, and we hope people love it as much as we do.”

“I am thrilled to be working with the incomparable Gail Simone in a genre that is close to my heart,” said Staggs. “The challenge of bringing these characters to life and developing their world has made this project something I’m proud of. Readers are in for a wild ride.”

CROSSWIND #1 (Diamond code: APR170674) hits comic book stores Wednesday, June 21st. Final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, May 29th.

Early praise for CROSSWIND:

“CROSSWIND will sneak up on you from behind and knock you sideways. Gail Simone is at her absolute sharpest, and Cat Staggs’s art is daring and sexy. Freakin’ impressive is what it is…!” —Cully Hamner (RED, The Question)

“Cat Staggs's art will grab you by the throat and kick you in the teeth. This is one creepy ride.” —Joe Harris (ROCKSTARS, X-Files)

“Freaky Friday—yes! But dark and twisted and such great art and page composition. And glints of humour. This is great, kinetic, mind-warping work. Art reminded me of Chaykin’s The Shadow meets Bill Sienkiewicz. I love this.” —Ian Rankin (Inspector Rebus novels)

DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES THE NEXT CHAPTER IN
JIM BUTCHER'S THE DRESDEN FILES SERIES: DOG MEN!

Dynamite Bestselling Comic and Graphic Novel Series Continues!

March 20, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files saga continues in this original and in-continuity comic book series, featuring a never-before-told story set immediately following the bestselling novel White Night and graphic novel Down Town! The Dresden Files: Dog Men brings together the comics team of Jim Butcher, co-writer Mark Powers, and artist Diego Galindo.

Harry Dresden is a man on the edge - and that is something that can be dangerous to friend and foe alike. He's been drafted by a senior member of the White Council of Wizards to investigate a series of murders in rural Mississippi. As always, there's more afoot than is immediately apparent. The question is, will Harry's state of mind keep him from seeing it, and will his actions lead him into direct conflict with the wizard who's depending on his help?

"This is a fun project, because we get to play with a Dresden that is much closer to the character as he exists in the most recent books," says Jim Butcher. "We get to see both Mouse and Molly in action, to show Marcone demonstrating why he's the Baron of Chicago, and to pit Dresden against an archetypical foe of the Wardens of the White Council, a power-maddened warlock. We get to go on an adventure in Undertown, the Stygian labyrinth beneath Chicago, and in general have all the monsters, adventure, and uneasy alliances that are what the readers of The Dresden Files have come to expect from the stories. I love the way the story came out, and I look forward to creating more comic books with Dynamite!"

"What I'm most excited about with Dog Men is the opportunity to pit Harry against foes he's never faced before, fight alongside an ally he's never fought with before, and operate in a role that is less the master and something closer to apprentice. More than anything else, I'm jazzed to be collaborating on a story where we'll see Harry in a very different state of mind than we're accustomed to, as the tragedies and anguish of his recent adventures are beginning to take their toll on him," says co-writer Mark Powers. "Working on these original stories is always a pleasure; the world Jim has built is so rich and diverse, I think we could play in it forever. There's always some corner we can expand upon, and characters that we may have seen briefly in one or more of the novels that we can give more of a spotlight to. That's very true of this series in particular."

"Our ongoing partnership with author Jim Butcher on The Dresden Files has grown into one of the cornerstones of Dynamite's publishing line. Each series has been beloved by his fiction audience and comics fans alike," says Dynamite CEO and Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "We are certain that Dog Men will be no exception, and we are honored to continue to grow the comic book and graphic novel library of The Dresden Files!"

Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files: Dog Men #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' April 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in June. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. The Dresden Files: Dog Men #1 will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.

DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT WILL PUBLISH FABIAN RANGEL JR.
AND JAVIER CABA'S KICKSTARTER SENSATION: BLOOD BROTHERS!

The Highly Anticipated, Supernatural Pulp Miniseries Launches in June

March 20, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment continues to bring some of the best and freshest comic book projects originating at Kickstarter to print with the news that Blood Brothers, the supernatural pulp sensation by Fabian Rangel Jr. and Javier Caba, will be serialized beginning this coming June!

Diego and Gabriel Soliz are two unusual brothers just trying to do their job in an even more unusual hometown. What's their job? They're detectives in a city populated by creatures from mythology and fantasy. When an Aztec skull is stolen from the museum, the Blood Brothers are assigned to the case! Blood Brothers is a pulp-influenced supernatural tale with elements of fantasy, taking place in a world where the border between reality and mythology has been broken.

Writer Fabian Rangel, Jr. says, "Blood Brothers is the story of two Hermanos de Sangre: Diego, a hard boiled detective who can communicate with ghosts, and Gabriel, a luchador whose skin glows in the dark when monsters are about to attack. Artist Javi Caba is doing tremendous character design work in the comic, creating a feast for the eyes. I had been wanting to return to the supernatural pulp genre, and Javi loves drawing fantasy stuff, so I figured why not put them together? This series is for fans of Ray Harryhausen movies, comics like Powers, Hellboy, and Top Ten. I couldn't be more excited to be bringing Blood Brothers to Dynamite, the home of so many awesome pulp characters. They're the perfect home for this series. After a successful Kickstarter last year, I'm very glad we're getting an opportunity to reach even more readers through the Direct Market."

"Blood Brothers is the comic that I'd like to read. Since the beginning I was absorbed by the story and it was so easy to imagine this astonishing universe, full of monsters and cool characters," says artist Javier Caba. "I love drawing all of them, because I can dip into all my pop background -- old-fashioned movies, novels, and EC Comics -- as well as let myself flow and create them from nothing."

"Fabian and Javier's supernatural detective series is another perfect addition to Dynamite's growing line of crime comics, with an incredibly original take on the genre," says Dynamite CEO and Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "The story is fun, and the art perfectly illustrates a colorful world of the supernatural and fantasy unlike anything else on shelves right now."

Blood Brothers will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' April 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in June. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of Blood Brothers with their local comic book retailers. Blood Brothers will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.

KILL THE MINOTAUR, AN ALL-NEW TALE OF HEROISM AND HORROR, HITS STORES THIS JUNE
New series reinvents the iconic monster from Greek myth

Famed video game and film writers Chris Pasetto (Sanitarium, co-writer of feature film Air) and Christian Cantamessa (Red Dead Redemption, co-writer and director of Air) team up with comics artist Lukas Ketner (WITCH DOCTOR) for the all-new series KILL THE MINOTAUR, coming this June from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment.

Athens lost the war to Crete. Now, they must pay tribute to King Minos by sacrificing their best citizens to his unearthly labyrinth and the terror within. Conspirators believe Theseus can be the hero they so desperately need to end the mad king’s bloody reign...but no one in this world has ever encountered anything like the savage minotaur.

“Growing up in Italy, I was fascinated with mythology and its archetypal stories,” said Cantamessa. “Our goal is to continue a time-honored tradition of storytelling and to offer a novel take for a modern audience.”

“I'm honored that Image and Skybound have included KILL THE MINOTAUR in their lineup,” said Pasetto. “It's been amazing working with Christian to create this fresh take on a classic myth, and Lukas has done an outstanding job bringing our world and characters to life with his art.”

“The story of Theseus and the Minotaur was my favorite Greek myth as a kid, and Christian Cantamessa and Chris Pasetto have really run with that classic and twisted it into something shocking and fun,” said Ketner. “The series has been an absolute joy to draw, and it's an honor to have my artwork treated to Jean-Francois Beaulieu's coloring expertise.”

KILL THE MINOTAUR #1 (Diamond code: APR170711) hits comic book stores Wednesday, June 14th. Final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, May 22nd.

NEW ASH VS. THE ARMY OF DARKNESS COMIC BOOK SERIES
CELEBRATES THE CULT HORROR FILM'S 25TH ANNIVERSARY
WITH A SPECTACULAR 99-CENT INTRODUCTORY #0 ISSUE

Co-Writers Chad Bowers and Chris Sims (of Marvel's X-Men '92) Join Artist Mauro Vargas for the Next Spine-Chilling Chapter of the Chosen One, Ash Williams!

March 20, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is proud to launch Ash Vs. The Army of Darkness, an all-new series in the popular comic book franchise based on the 1992 cult favorite film, with a #0 issue at the introductory retail price of only $0.99. This great value, billed as "S-Mart Special Pricing" as a in-joke to hardcore AOD enthusiasts, will welcome new fans as the perfect comic book "impulse buy". The opening chapter in the latest Army of Darkness epic comes courtesy of the red-hot writing team of Chad Bowers and Chris Sims (X-Men '92, Swordquest), along with artist Mauro Vargas (Crossed: Badlands).

For 25 years, Ash Williams has been waging a war in film and comics against the Army of Darkness. Now, Dynamite Entertainment is proud to present the next thrilling chapter, kicking off in this special prelude! Ash may be the Chosen One, but that doesn't mean he can hold down a steady job at S-Mart. When he's scrambling for employment, will he find himself once again thrown into battle against the Deadites? Here's a hint: The book ain't called Ash: The Guy With A Regular Job Who Doesn't Battle Against The Forces of Evil.

"Army of Darkness, and really Sam Raimi's entire filmography, is such a major influence on how we approach storytelling," says co-writer Chad Bowers. "Being turned loose inside that sandbox and having a chance to add to the AOD mythology feels like something we've been working toward for years, and hopefully it reads that way, too. And I dare anybody to tell me Ash Williams isn't the toughest ass-kicker in horror! What he lacks in brains, he more than makes up for by having a chainsaw for a hand. That'll get you a long way in this world!"

"I saw Army of Darkness when I was nine, and I've literally described it as a life-changing experience. It might've been the most influential movie I've ever watched -- in terms of the stories that I like and how much I love smartass everyman heroes that stumble into having to do the right thing -- and almost everything I've written has had a variation on that idea kicking around in it," says co-writer Chris Sims. "One of our big goals whenever we sit down to write a new story is to keep things moving fast enough that nobody has a chance to get bored, and with Ash, escalating those situations was so much fun."

"Chad and Chris bring such vibrant life to their scripts; they translate their own enthusiasm so incredibly to the work, and they are Army of Darkness fans through and through. Teaming them with Mauro Vargas, an exceptional rising star (especially in the realm of hardcore horror), will ensure that longtime fans and curious newcomers are more than satisfied!" says Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment. "Celebrating AOD's anniversary with a 99-cent introductory-priced #0 issue is a great way for our retail partners to welcome as many customers as possible to the world of Ash Vs. The Army of Darkness with minimal risk. Put copies on your store shelves and watch as impulse buys ensue -- Ash is back, and we couldn't be happier!"

The 99-cent debut issue of Ash Vs. The Army of Darkness features a cover by superstar artist Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine & The X-Men). Five variant editions are available as retailer incentives for comic shops that support the launch issue with stocking thresholds. These variant editions include three "Sneak Peek" editions by Reilly Brown (Deadpool & Cable), series artist Mauro Vargas (Crossed: Badlands), and Pasquale Qualano (Doctor Who); a "Blood Red" Line Art cover edition by the aforementioned Nick Bradshaw; and a J. Scott Campbell "13th Anniversary Flashback" cover edition, re-presenting the very first Army of Darkness comic book cover when Dynamite launched its flagship title in 2004.

Army of Darkness is a 1992 fantasy/comedy film with strong horror elements starring Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice), the third installment in a trilogy featuring reluctant hero Ash Williams. Directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man), the film saw its tough-as-nails, wise-cracking protagonist transported from the modern era to the Dark Ages in his continuing war against demonic evil. Army of Darkness generated a dedicated fan following for its premise and lead actor. Since 2004, Dynamite Entertainment has been the proud home to Army of Darkness comic books.

Ash Vs. The Army of Darkness will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' April 2017 Previews catalog, the premiere source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in June. Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies with their local comic book retailers. Ash Vs. The Army of Darkness will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.

DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT AND GWAR UNLEASH ORGASMAGEDDON!
The First New Comic Book Series from the
Bloodied Barbarians in Twenty Years!

March 20, 2017, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Following up on an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign late last year, GWAR will bring the blasphemous, blood-soaked series that fans demanded to print in June, courtesy of Dynamite Entertainment!

GWAR has released an official video announcing the Dynamite partnership, which can be viewed here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIXNUdUfVf8

From the depths of outer space to the frozen wasteland of Antarctica, punk rock and heavy metal's most shocking band of intergalactic blood-spewing alien monsters has returned to kill everything and respect nothing in the pages of GWAR: Orgasmageddon! Banished to the past by the cold and calculating Mr. Perfect, the heroes of GWAR trample through time like a deranged Bill & Ted on bath salts. Antics ensue as they stomp and smash and shape human history to what we accept as our current reality. Co-written by GWAR themselves and Matt Miner (Toe Tag Riot, Critical Hit), and featuring art by Jonathan Brandon Sawyer (Welcome Back, Critical Hit), GWAR: Orgasmageddon is a love letter to comics, grindhouse movies, and heavy metal, sure to appeal both to the most die-hard fan and the comics fanboy/fangirl intrigued by the prospect of social awareness drowned in geysers of blood and alien goo.

"It's awesome to have a comic coming out! We had some in the 90's, but it's about time we got back into the comic book world," says Matt Maguire, better known in the band lineup as Sawborg Destructo. "When Matt Miner and I first talked, everything clicked and I knew we were going to do a cool project. It was really cool to see all the support from the fans who pledged money to Kickstarter. We knew people wanted to see more GWAR comics, so it was great to reach our goal. We can't wait to show all of the amazing work that is being generated for this comic! With Dynamite in our corner, it's gonna be a big book!"

Regarding what GWAR fans will love most about the series, Maguire adds, "The blood... maybe the story... but mostly the blood. Oh, did we mention that Slymenstra Hymen is gonna be in it? And oh yeah -- blood!"

"I always wanted to be the guy to help bring GWAR to modern-day comics," says writer Matt Miner. "Most people when they get into comics want to do Batman or Spider-Man or write the next great Punisher story, but I really, really wanted to write my favorite scumdogs of the universe... the all-mighty GWAR! (Although working on that other stuff would be cool, too). At 16 years old, I fell in love with this band of alien monster rockstars and their tongue-in-cheek style of blood-soaked and irreverent social commentary, so when I started making comics a few years ago, I just felt the calling: I MUST MAKE GWAR COMICS! Taking the book to Kickstarter was a great first step for us because we got a ton of amazing press and lots of love and support from fans. It's sure to be the greatest -- or, at least, the bloodiest and funniest -- comic book series of 2017!"

Regarding the concept and audience for the new series, Miner says, "People who love fun comics are gonna dig this crazy story that dives into the past and shows how GWAR not only created humans, but shaped our history to what we now know as our actual modern day reality. GWAR fans are going to love that all the creators on the book are fans -- every single one, from me and artist Jonathan Brandon Sawyer, all the way to every single variant cover artist -- and GWAR themselves are contributing art and co-writing the book, to boot. This isn't a case of us getting the license and then running with it; we collaborate very closely with the band and are in almost constant contact during the creation. Fans of comics with a deeper meaning may have to dig through the blood, the guts, and the sometimes off-color jokes, but they're gonna find what they're looking for; GWAR has always been a mirror held up to the worst aspects of humanity, so that social satire and consciousness is there, although it may be splattered with politician brains and alien bile. You do not need to be a GWAR fan to have a ton of fun with this comic!"

"Anyone who is familiar with GWAR's theatrical performances, and over their thirty-year history will agree that this band is perfectly suited to the comic book page," says Dynamite CEO and publisher, Nick Barrucci. "It seems only fitting that these masters of gore find their published home alongside the comic book adventures of the original shock rockers, KISS!"

GWAR: Orgasmageddon #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' April 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in June.  Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of GWAR with their local comic book retailers. GWAR: Orgasmageddon will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.

IDW Publishing to release Lynn Johnston’s ‘For Better or For Worse’ in Complete Library Editions this October
San Diego, CA (March 20, 2017) – Welcome back, Elly, John, and the entire Patterson family as IDW Publishing and the Library of American Comics proudly announce For Better or For Worse: The Complete Library by Lynn Johnston. These definitive hardcover editions will collect the entire series in nine volumes, three books per decade of the strip.

For Better or For Worse is one of the most beloved comic strips of all time, with a devoted audience of more than 220 million. These new collections are being produced with Lynn Johnston’s cooperation and are being edited by Dean Mullaney, Kurtis Findlay, and Lorraine Turner.

Since For Better or For Worse debuted in 1979, the world was able to watch the Patterson family grow up in real time—and to many readers, they feel like family!

“The strip reflects the experience that we readers shared,” says co-editor Lorraine Turner. “Life is like a tide that ebbs and flows—raising children, caring for aging parents, and accepting the aches and pains of getting older. Lynn Johnston allowed us to witness—and sometimes laugh at—a part of ourselves through the eyes of her characters.”

Book One, coming October 2017, collects all the daily and color Sunday strips from the strip’s debut in September 1979 through the end of 1982. The book will feature a new cover panel by Lynn Johnston, and occasional context notes and comments. For Better or For Worse: The Complete Library reprints the strips in chronological order, allowing us to enjoy it as it originally unfolded!

Lynn Johnston was born in Ontario, Canada. She is the first woman to receive the Reuben Award for Cartoonist of the Year from the National Cartoonists Society. She has also received the Order of Canada. Lynn began For Better or For Worse in 1979. She told the saga of the Pattersons for 29 years, until August of 2008, when she retired from the daily production of new strips and storylines.

BOOM! STUDIOS REVEALS FOC VARIANT

COVER AND RETAILER INCENTIVES

FOR GRASS KINGS #2

Matt Kindt and Tyler Jenkins' Grass Kings Collection Schedule for 2018

Grass Kings #2 FOC Cover by Tyler Jenkins

Los Angeles, Calif. (March 17, 2017) – BOOM! Studios is pleased to announce the addition of a brand-new variant cover for GRASS KINGS #2 just in time for Final Order Cutoff (FOC). Grass Kings, the all-new original comic book series from writer Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT) and artist Tyler Jenkins (Peter Panzerfaust), debuted March 8th and the oversized, first issue sold out the day of release at the distributor level.

In order to give retail partners further opportunity to capitalize on the heat generated by the debut, BOOM! Studios is offering a variant, open-to-order cover by interior artist Tyler Jenkins for Grass Kings #2 ahead of FOC on March 20. The issue will hit comic book shops on April 12. To further encourage retailers to take a position on what Multiversity Comics called “one of the best books of the year,” retailers who meet the minimum order requirement for the variant will receive three Grass Kings crown enamel pins shipping with issue #3. Additionally, retailers who maintain their orders on issue #1 for issue #2 will be eligible for returnability and be listed in issue #3 as the “Kings of Retail.”

Furthermore, to support the single-issue sales of a series IGN described as “the kind of slow burn book that requires a bit of faith on the part of the reader, but with creators like these, we're betting they'll deliver,” BOOM! Studios is proud to announce the first collection of Grass Kings will not be released until February 2018. The collection will include the first five issues of Grass Kings in an oversized, premium hardcover similar to the publisher’s treatment of Grant Morrison and Dan Mora’s Klaus. The collection will carry a suggested retail price of $29.99.

“We’ve been absolutely floored by the support we’ve seen for Grass Kings,” says Filip Sablik, President of Publishing & Marketing, BOOM! Studios. “When the first issue’s orders came in over 50% higher than Matt’s most recent original series, we knew our retail partners were supporting us in a big way. This is a powerful, slow burn story and we wanted to encourage fans to buy in on the singles rather than waiting for the collection.”

Grass Kings is a rural mystery centered around the tragic lives of three brothers who rule a trailer park kingdom that's a beacon for the hopeless, the lost, and the desperate poor seeking a promised land. But will one brother's decision to take in an enigmatic young woman destroy everything the Grass Kings have built?

Grass Kings is the most recent release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to ambitious original series such as Victor LaValle’s Destroyer by Victor LaValle and Dietrich Smith; Godshaper by Simon Spurrier and Jonas Goonface; The Unsound by Cullen Bunn and Jack T. Cole; Klaus by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora; and Irredeemable by Mark Waid and Peter Krause.

The cover joins the previously announced covers by Jenkins and Matt Kindt:

CLUELESS RETURNS IN AN ALL-NEW

COMIC BOOK FROM BOOM! STUDIOS

The Next Adventure of Cher and Her Friends Debuts in Summer 2017

Los Angeles, Calif. (March 16, 2017) – BOOM! Studios is proud to announce CLUELESS is back, in an all-new comic book follow-up to the hit film inspired by Jane Austen’s novel Emma. Starring Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Paul Rudd, and Brittany Murphy, the 1995 Paramount Pictures’ film defined a generation. This August, the writing duo of actress, filmmaker, and author Amber Benson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Witches of Echo Park, Death’s Daughter) and author Sarah Kuhn (Heroine Complex, Barbie), along with artist Siobhan Keenan (Adventure Time), reunite your favorite girls from Beverly Hills for a story continuing one of Entertainment Weekly’s “new classics” of film.

It’s senior year at Bronson Alcott High School, and Cher, Dionne, and Tai find themselves in a bit of an existential crisis: Where are they meant to go, and what are they meant to DO after high school? Luckily they have all year—and each other’s help—to figure it out!

“I was 17 when I auditioned for Clueless and, sadly, didn't get a part,” recalls Benson. “But I remember reading the script—tentatively titled As If—and thinking: If they do this right, they are going to kick some serious butt. So I wasn't shocked when Clueless turned out to be a pop-culture phenomenon. All these years later, I am tickled that I finally get to be a part of its continuing legacy, and that I get to collaborate with two people I respect greatly: my co-writer Sarah Kuhn and our editor Shannon Watters.”

“Clueless is one of my favorite movies of all time—I love [director] Amy Heckerling's whip-smart use of language, her clever take on Austen, and the strong bonds she created between vibrant, awesome female characters,” added Kuhn. “And I love that Cher Horowitz is a heroine who takes on every obstacle she faces with a unique combination of ingenuity, positivity, and the ability to pull off yellow tartan like nobody else. Getting to write these characters is both a total dream come true and an incredible challenge and I hope we’re doing Cher, Dionne, and Tai justice—we’re certainly having a ton of fun.”
Clueless is the latest release from BOOM! Studios’ critically acclaimed BOOM! Box imprint, home to popular original series such as Lumberjanes by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Brooke A. Allen, and Noelle Stevenson; Giant Days by John Allison, Lissa Treiman, and Max Sarin; The Backstagers by James Tynion IV and Rian Sygh; SLAM! by Pamela Ribon and Veronica Fish; and Goldie Vance by Hope Larson and Brittney Williams.
“Clueless is one of the sunniest, kindest, and smartest films out there, and one of my favorites,” says Shannon Watters, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “I’m so excited that we’ll be telling new stories within this world at BOOM! Box.”
Clueless features a cover illustrated by Natacha Bustos (Lumberjanes/Gotham Academy).
