Happy Halloween DDP Followers,

This is the first in a series of monthly emails I will be sending out in an effort to keep you up to speed on the on the great projects launching from Devil's Due Publishing. Not only will it save a few press releases each month, it will give you the chance to get the quick advance scoop on everything going on right now now in a simple, condensed package. I hope you will check out the incredible artwork enclosed and take advantage of interview opportunities with our creative teams.

In October, DDP is kicking off no less than 5 new series, with Josh Blaylock's new punk/action mini Mercy Sparx, Halloween: The First Death of Laurie Strode, Batman artist Roger Robinson's Echoes of the Damned, Rick Remender's The Corps!, and "Die Hard" writer Steven E. de Souza and Todd Livingston's Sheena: Dark Rising. And we're not stopping there, November will see an all new Chucky series from writer Jason M. Burns ("A Dummy's Guide to Danger"), and in December, DDP will present a brand new mega-series Dawn of the Dread Force from an all-star team of former "Transformers" artists with visuals you will have to see to believe. Enjoy the news rundown, and I hope you'll all be interested in hearing more.

Best regards,

Brian W

I. New HACK/SLASH & HALLOWEEN MAN webcomic premiers
Check out HalloweenMan.com today, where the first ever Hack/Slash and Halloween Man crossover is taking place in a story you can only find online! Halloween Man creator Drew Edwards joins artist David Baldeon in a raucous tale you'll have to click over to right now to believe! You can access the comic directly by going to http://tinyurl.com/webcomic.

II. HACK/SLASH distributes 2 issues outside of Diamond
2008 has been the most successful year yet for DDP's creator-owned series Hack/Slash. With sales up steadily this year, a sold out Hack/Slash Omnibus vol 1, and the Hack/Slash film still moving ahead at Rogue Pictures, it's risen to become a DDP mainstay. Due to a trademark dispute between the Re-Animator filmmakers and a new company called Re-Animator LLC, however, Diamond has refused to distribute Hack/Slash #'s 16-17 containing the final two parts of "Hack/Slash Meets the Re-Animator." As a consequence, DDP is being forced to distribute both issues independently to retailers. Order can only be made through the DDP website or by going to http://tinyurl.com/hackslash. Click here to read the official press release for more information.

III. DRAFTED concludes first volume!
Mark Powers' blistering space epic has taken its hero, Gabriel Contreras, and a group of everyday humans into a war they never knew they were a part of. November's Drafted #12 will conclude the first act of this fan-favorite sci-fi story, and when readers see what happens, you'll find out why this is going to be the buzz book people are talking about until the story resumes in 2009.

IV. HACK/SLASH up for Spike TV Scream Award Saturday
It's still not too late for Hack/Slash fans to vote as the Spike TV Scream Awards nominee nears the fated awards night this Saturday. Nominated in the category of "Best Comic Book" on a shortlist with Astonishing X-Men, Umbrella Academy, and Walking Dead. Fans can vote by going to: http://tinyurl.com/votehack
