Where Words Meet Pictures: The Sixth Gun
Art exhibition and signing at The Rogues Gallery

January 14th at 7:00pm – Art Opening, refreshments will be served,
cocktail attire requested
January 15th at Noon – Signing and Discussion

Graphic novels are a combination of literature and art, so why
shouldn’t a graphic novel event be the same? Challengers Comics +
Conversation presents THE SIXTH GUN weekend: a Friday evening opening
with artist Brian Hurtt and writer Cullen Bunn, then a noon signing on
Saturday with both creators.

Published by Oni Press (Scott Pilgrim, Stumptown) THE SIXTH GUN is a
supernatural western that references the Civil War. During that time,
wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly
power. In time, the Sixth Gun, the most dangerous of the weapons,
vanished. When the gun surfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, dark
forces reawaken. Vile men thought long dead set their sights on
retrieving the gun and killing the girl. Only Drake Sinclair, a
gunfighter with a shadowy past, stands in their way.
Just as THE SIXTH GUN crosses genres, this unique event crosses
mediums, and celebrates not just the art or the writing, but the comic
as a whole.
About the Rogues Gallery
The Rogues Gallery opened in November of 2010 and is Chicago’s first
ever Comic Art Gallery. In addition to featuring comic book artists
from across the country, the Rogues Gallery is home to community
events such as art classes, book clubs, and children’s read-alongs.
The gallery has been featured in Time Out Chicago, Metromix, and the
Columbia Chronicle.

About Challengers Comics + Conversation
Named “Best Comic Shop” by the Chicago Reader (June 2010) and “Best
Comic Book Store” by Chicago Magazine (August 2009), Challengers
Comics + Conversation strives to prove that the best thing about being
in a comic book store is being in a comic book store. With a combined
38 years of comic retail experience, owners Patrick Brower and W. Dal
Bush endeavor to bring Chicago a full-service, technologically
interactive comic store that has the same level of wonder and
enjoyment as the comics they sell. And read. And talk about. And
champion.
