You don't have to wait until July for a little Stampede Action
Calgary Expo brings My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic star Tara Strong to 2012 event.
(Calgary, AB) Adults and children alike will be excited to meet one of animations greatest talents, Tara Strong, this spring at the Calgary Expo.
 
Tara Strong is a Canadian voice actor of legendary proportions whose resume includes over 300 titles. She is best known as the voice of Twilight Sparkle in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls and Tara in Kim Possible.
 
Her talents have also been used as the English localizations of some of anime's greatest productions including Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and Sailor Moon. She was the 2004 winner of the Interactive Achievement Award for her role in Final Fantasy X-2 and was the announcer for the Kids Choice Awards in 2000.
 
“For over 25 years Tara has been a great talent in the voice acting world,” says Kandrix Foong, Event Director of the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. “Having her at our convention for the World Wish Day with the Make-A-Wish foundation will be very special for a lot of people.”
 
Family will be a major focus for The Calgary Expo with adults being able to bring in up to four children 12 and under for free. The convention will be celebrating The Make-A-Wish Foundation's World Wish Day on April 29, which will feature children's performers, a costume contest and programming developed specifically for families and children.

The Calgary Expo is a non-profit organization that showcases the incredible talent of comic creators, artists, actors, voice actors, musicians, writers and pop culture icons from all over the world. Founded in 2006, the convention has grown rapidly having hosted guests from every genre including William Shatner, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, voice actor Vic Mignogna and Bruce Timm an Emmy award winning Batman illustrator. The 2011 convention saw 30,000 attendees and is the 2nd largest convention of its kind in all of Canada.
Guests for the 2012 Calgary Expo currently include Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street), Amanda Tapping (Stargate: SG-1, Sanctuary), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, 24) and James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
