Occupy Festival to Be Held May 12-13
In Chicago's Union Park
Call for Artists, Musicians, Sponsors and Vendors

CHICAGO—March 13, 2012-- The first ever Occupy Festival will take place this spring at Union Park. The focus of the event is to highlight the struggle of social and economic inequality through artistic performance. The event’s organizers are looking for interested artists, musicians, sponsors and vendors to be part of a great opportunity for a worthy cause.
This two-day green event, permitted by the City of Chicago and Chicago Park District, is being presented by SolidClarity in conjunction with Occupy Chicago. It's produced by Special Events Management.
The festival features two stages where organizers expect more than 25 top international, national and local musicians to perform. It will also feature a third area set aside for special musical guests and visual performing artists who stop by to show their support and share their passion for the cause.
Union Park is located at Ashland and Lake Street on Chicago's near-west side. Fest hours are 2:00-10:00 p.m. both days; Gates open at 2pm, Music starts at 3pm. Admission is $35 for one day; $55 for a two-day pass. VIP packages will also be available. Tickets can be purchased in advance (and more information obtained) at www.occupyfestival.com. Tickets can also be purchased on-site. General inquiries: 773.800.1070.
"What makes this festival unique is that it embodies the spirit of the people with a united cause which affects everyone and gives people a chance to share ideas and express themselves in a positive way. It all happens within a safe environment through art and music, the true universal languages that break down barriers and allow freedom and inspiration to flourish. The festival will also act as a fundraiser for the Occupy Movement by donating 50 percent of net profits to Occupy Chicago, who officially endorses and supports the festival," says Graham Czach, event organizer.
Adds Czach: "Beyond the spectacular musical and visual entertainment line-up, the public will be offered the opportunity to interact and learn about socially responsible companies & organizations that support our workers and communities and that operate with a sense of higher purpose when engaging with the natural world."
Companies and organizations interested in developing a great supporting synergistic relationship are encouraged to contact festival organizers.
Additionally, the event will feature outstanding local food and beverage vendors who’ll look to share the passion they have for their crafts with the people gathering in the Chicago community during the time of this very distinctive festival. Artists and vendors of all varieties looking to share their passion for their craft should contact event organizers, as space is limited.
There will also be a children's area for this family-friendly affair and many fun activities for attendees to enjoy. These include bags tournaments, group yoga instruction and much more.
"The leaders of the world will be gathering in Chicago for the NATO Summit later in May along with an expected influx of roughly 2,000 media members and countless individuals from all over the world. It is important for us as the people and organizations of this great city and nation to come together in a peaceful way to express our desire and intent for new economic initiatives which support a greener future for the world, and a better economic reality for members of the world's workforce," says event organizer David Krzesinski.
