FUTURESCAPE WITH JAMES WOODS REVEALS THE ADVANCES THAT WILL REDEFINE HUMANITY THIS NOVEMBER ON SCIENCE CHANNEL

--World Premiere Series Hosted by Award-Winning Actor James Woods Debuts Tuesday, November 19 at 10 PM ET/PT on Science Channel--

--SILVER SPRING, MD—What if you could read minds using a Bluetooth device, or have your own personal superhuman Iron Man-style suit?  How about curing cancer by inserting a “super chip” into the human body?  What was once considered science fiction is more of a reality than you may think.  A future that once existed solely in the human imagination is beginning to take shape.  Science Channel and celebrated actor James Woods take an unprecedented look at the next breakthroughs in science and technology with the world premiere of the new six-part series FUTURESCAPE WITH JAMES WOODS which debuts Tuesday, November 19 at 10 PM ET/PT.

"Science has fueled my imagination since I was in grade school. I had the benefit of an early education centered around the magic of understanding the universe through this magical process of thinking. My involvement in the creation of FUTURESCAPE is the fulfillment of a life long dream."  Says James Woods, host and executive producer of FUTURESCAPE.

"James' is smart, charming and brings a provocative edge to FUTURESCAPE.  When we learned about his passion for science and his academic background at M.I.T., we had to develop a project around him," said Debbie Adler Myers, General Manager and EVP of Science Channel.  We hope that viewers feel this series offers them some of the smartest entertainment on television.  With its combination of riveting storytelling, fascinating science and visuals straight out of a science fiction movie; FUTURESCAPE is poised to become the next signature franchise for Science Channel."

FUTURESCAPE is a new, six-part series from Science Channel unveiling the latest in incredible and mind-blowing discoveries. Academy Award Nominee James Woods is your guide as each episode explores a different event horizon that will potentially alter life as we know it. From telepathy, to colonizing space, achieving eternal youth and the integration of robots in our world, no topic is taboo and is given a deeper exploration through this series.

FUTURESCAPE speaks to the pioneering scientists across the country who are uncovering radical breakthroughs that already have fundamentally changed the way we think about the world.  The words "life" and "human" already have different meanings after decades of amazing advances. The ideas of deep space travel and telepathy are within our grasp. What were once powers at the hands of the gods -mind reading, creating life from scratch, travelling through space and time, and being immortal-have now fallen into the hands of man.

The technologies being developed in labs and universities have already planted the seeds of radical change to the human condition, but will we have the foresight to use those powers wisely? Or will we be the victims of technological arrogance? The future can be both incredible and incredibly frightening.

FUTURESCAPE WITH JAMES WOODS was produced and created by Science Channel and Karga 7 Productions. James Woods is the Host and Executive Producer of FUTURESCAPE.  For Karga 7 Productions Executive Producers include Kelly McPherson, Sarah Wetherbee and Emre Sahin.  The Co-Executive Producer is Chris Bray. Neil Laird and Bernadette McDaid are Executive Producers for SCIENCE supported by Katie Pyne as Associate Producer. McDaid is Vice President of Production for SCIENCE, and Deborah Alder Myers is General Manager and Executive Vice President for SCIENCE.
