STUDIOS' HUMBLE BUNDLE CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT THE COMIC BOOK LEGAL DEFENSE
FUND ECLIPSES $225K WITH 24 HOURS LEFT TO PARTICIPATE
August 19, 2014 (Los Angeles, Calif.) – With just one day left in the campaign, BOOM! Studios is excited to report it has helped raise over $225,000 in the Humble BOOM! Bundle to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF),
a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of the First
Amendment rights of the comics art form. BOOM! Studios is a proud
corporate member of the CBLDF. Begun two weeks ago in partnership with Humble Bundle Books,
the initiative allows fans to pay what they want to download over 100
issues of DRM-free digital copies of select BOOM! titles.
“As
we enter the final 24 hours of the campaign, we want to tell those who
didn’t already know about this amazing deal for a great cause that they
have one last chance to get in on it,” said Filip Sablik, President of
Publishing and Marketing. “Not only do you get some of the
most innovative original and licensed content in the industry and get it
at whatever price you you want, you’re also helping support one of the
best non-profit organizations in comics.”
After
initially offering over 90 issues of a wide variety of comics when it
launched on August 6, BOOM! Studios added an additional tier of titles
on August 13 to help boost interest in the raise. Titles that were added
