BLUEFIN ANNOUNCES FORTHCOMING RELEASE OF NEW SPIDER-MAN SAMURAI MEISHO MANGA REALIZATION FIGURE

Distinctive Collectible Figure Incorporates Japanese Samurai Aesthetic For New Release Of Legendary Superhero Web Crawler

Irvine, CA, May 9, 2016 – Bluefin, the leading North American distributor of toys, collectibles, and hobby merchandise from Japan, proudly announces the newest addition to the hit Meisho Realization figure series from Tamashii Nations as the company reimagines famous superheroes starting with the release of the Samurai Spider-Man later this year.

Scheduled to debut to retailers in late-Summer/Fall, the highly detailed, 7-inch figure pays homage to the Samurai aesthetic and artfully takes Spidey back to feudal-era Japan, casting him in distinctive, web-like black and crimson warrior armor. The figure is exquisitely constructed with hybrid materials and features up to 15 points of articulation to create endless posing possibilities. Meisho Manga Realization Spider-Man will carry an MSRP of $91.99 from authorized Bluefin retailers nationwide and also from a variety of leading online outlets. Preorders are available now.

Meisho Manga Realization Samurai Spiderman
Height: Approx. 7 inches; MSRP: $91.99
Leave it to top sculptor and designer Takayuki Takeya to take Spider-Man back to Feudal Japan in full, web-like Samurai warrior armor. True to the feudal spirit, Samurai Spider-Man’s ninja kaginawa-style grappling web hook is crafted as chain-like firing mechanism. Like the preceding Meisho Movie Realization products before it, Samurai Spider-Man is crafted with semi-soft materials that allow for superior articulations and dynamic posing. Set includes interchangeable hands (x3), Japanese katana set, and kaginawa web hook set (left and right wrist parts).

Collectors also can enjoy several notable figures from the Tamashii Nations Meisho Movie Realization Star Wars product line – available now from Bluefin – that include the “Ronin” Boba Fett, “Ashigaru” Stormtrooper, and the Samurai General “Taisho” Darth Vader and Samurai General “Daisho” Darth Vader. Each is clad in a unique set of armor and comes with an array of weapons and other accessories. Additional new figures will be announced in coming months. IDW Entertainment To Bring Locke & Key To Television
Creator Joe Hill To Write The Pilot

San Diego, CA (May 9th, 2016) – IDW Entertainment (“IDWE”) announced today that the award-winning, fan-favorite property Locke & Key is being developed as a television series. Author/creator
Joe Hill will be writing the pilot and serving as an executive producer.

Locke & Key has garnered both awards and acclaim during its five-year run. Following the titular Locke family as they encounter magic beyond belief and evils beyond redemption, Locke & Key quickly won over readers and has since become a staple in introducing new readers to the medium. With the series adapted in dozens of languages across the globe, and more than a million copies sold worldwide, Locke & Key is an obvious choice to make the transition to the screen.

New York Times bestselling author, Joe Hill, has continually captivated readers through his gripping novels and award-winning comic series. Bursting onto the scene with his debut collection of short stories 20th Century Ghosts, Hill has continued to thrill audiences with the novels, Heart-Shaped Box, N0S4A2, and Horns, adapted into a feature-length film in 2013, starring Daniel Radcliffe. His forthcoming novel The Fireman debuts later this month. In addition to Locke & Key, his comic series The Cape, Thumbprint, Wraith, and the upcoming series Tales From The Darkside, have all been published by IDW.

"I love this story,” said Hill. “The seven years I spent working on Locke & Key was the happiest creative experience of my life and there still isn't a day when I don't think about those characters and miss visiting with them. The six books of the series are very like six seasons of a cable TV series and so it feels only natural to bring that world to the little screen and to see if we can't scare the pants off viewers everywhere."

Ted Adams and David Ozer from IDW Entertainment, and David Alpert and Rick Jacobs from Circle of Confusion (The Walking Dead) will serve as executive producers along with Joe.

“Having Joe at the helm of the pilot ensures that the series will hold true to the brand that fans around the world have come to love. Locke & Key is a true global franchise”, said David Ozer, President of IDW Entertainment.

IDW Entertainment is developing Locke & Key as a straight to series and will maintain worldwide rights to the project.

RENATO JONES: THE ONE% STRIKES AGAIN
Issue #1 is fast-tracked to a second printing

“Nobody else makes comic books quite like Kaare Andrews.” —Nerdist
Critically-acclaimed writer/artist/director Kaare Kyle Andrews (Spider-Man: Reign, Iron Fist: The Living Weapon) has taken the comics industry by storm with his next-level action thriller RENATO JONES: THE ONE%. In order to keep up with customer demand, Image Comics is pleased to announce that RENATO JONES: THE ONE% #1 is being rushed to a second printing.

In RENATO JONES: THE ONE %, society’s upper one percent own more than half the world’s wealth. They’ve crashed economies, bought governments, and have amassed more power than any other group in history. And they still don’t have enough. With this kind of power how can anyone make them pay? WHO will make them pay? Enter Renato Jones, a mysterious vigilante, out to even the score. And when he enters the fray THE SUPER-RICH ARE SUPER F***ED.

RENATO JONES: THE ONE% #1 remains available for purchase across all digital platforms, including the Image Comics website (imagecomics.com), the official Image Comics iOS app, Comixology’s website (comixology.com), iOS, Android, and Google Play.

RENATO JONES: THE ONE% #1, 2nd printing (Diamond Code MAR169020) will arrive in stores on Wednesday, June 1st. The Final Order Cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, May 9th.

RENATO JONES: THE ONE% #2 (Diamond Code APR160770) will hit stores on Wednesday, June 8th. The final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, May 16th.
Select praise for RENATO JONES: THE ONE%:
"A sort of hallucinatory rage pop 'Punisher from Occupy.' It's gorgeous and also demented." —Warren Ellis

“A true showcase for what one creator can accomplish when they script, draw, ink and color their own book.” —IGN

“If Kaare Andrews is drawing a comic book, we will be reading that comic book. We’re sticking with this series, because nobody in modern comics lays out a page like Andrews. Nobody else brings the energy and life he delivers on every page. Nobody else makes comic books quite like Kaare Andrews, and that’s the way we like it.” —Nerdist

“I can comfortably say Renato Jones: The One% has ticked most of the boxes it needs to in all of its thirty-five pages. Tech that makes its wearer superhumanly strong? Check. Gold Lamborghinis? Check. Orgies and stupendously rich, entitled douche-bags? Check. A protagonist who’s quietly dangerous and effortlessly cool at the same time? Check. This is the exact thing you’d get if you could somehow convert a flipped, sticky-from-champagne middle finger into a comic book.” —Bleeding Cool

Some imaginary friends never go away . . .

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MILWAUKIE, OR— New York Times best-selling novelist Chuck Palahniuk and acclaimed artist Cameron Stewart have collaborated for one of the most highly anticipated literary events of 2016: the return of Tyler Durden. The first rule of Fight Club 2 might be not to talk about it, but Fight Club 2 is generating international headlines and will introduce a new generation of readers to Project Mayhem.
The critically acclaimed ten-issue comic series concluded last month, and the hardcover collection hits bookshelves on June 15. As announced last week, Palahniuk will also appear on a 10-city book tour to support the release of his graphic novel.
Ten years after starting Project Mayhem, Sebastian lives a mundane life. A kid, a wife. Pills to keep his destiny at bay. But it won’t last long; the wife has seen to that. He’s back where he started, but this go-round he’s got more at stake than his own life. The time has arrived . . .
An oversized, slipcased hardcover limited edition will be released in October. It features a tip-in plate signed by Chuck Palahniuk, ninety pages of bonus content, and a striking new cover by legendary artist David Mack.
