San Francisco, CaliforniaMay 1, 2011
Immedium, Inc. proudly announces the publication of the new children’s picture book Billie the Unicorn. Created by the professional animator Brianne Drouhard.

Illustrated with an animator’s traditional tools of colored markers and pencils, this story will captivate adventure-seeking kids and adults who admire contemporary art. Chris Battle, a designer for The Powerpuff Girls, summed up readers’ reactions, "More stunning work from Brianne Drouhard, aka The Best Kept Secret in Animation."
Billie the Unicorn is a classic fairy tale that appeals to a 21st century ecologically-minded reader. Glen Murakami, a producer of Cartoon Network’s Superman, Batman, and Justice League, complimented his colleague, “Brianne is an amazing talent. A mixture of influences combined into something new and wholly original!"

"If you like pretty twinkly magic, unthinkable depths of lavish colors, organic farming, and horses with horns, boy are you in for a treat! The brilliantly talented marker wielding creator of this universe, Brianne Drouhard, has wrought forth a world of such intense charm and adorableness, that even the coldest hearted football jock will not be able to resist the call to be immersed in this lush and wondrous world."
– Derrick J. Wyatt, art director, Transformers: Animated TV series

A versatile artist who has created engaging casts of characters for many popular animated television series, Brianne Drouhard’s world of Billie the Unicorn will enchant a new generation of fantasy loving children and their parents. "Brianne's world of super-cute characters and beyond beautiful landscapes sends me on a visual sugar high with every page I turn,” said Sam Register, EVP Warner Bros Animation.

The young unicorn Billie seeks adventure! She leaves her cornfield for the forest where her friendly cousins Rhubarb and Smudge show her how to grow delightful flowers by the magic of sheer will. After some practice, Billie graduates from learning how to sprout corn stalks to cornflowers. However, the legend of a Queen’s castle which holds the world’s grandest garden lures her away! But will Billie discover that friendship matters the most?

"It’s not often that something makes you go 'aaaaawww,' 'cooooool,' and 'ha ha ha ha ha' all at the same time. The world seriously needs more of the cute/awesome/funny work of Brianne Drouhard!"
-Lauren Faust, "Creative Steward, Executive Producer" on the new "My Little Pony" animated series.
