Amanda Tapping Joins Phoenix Comicon 2013



Phoenix Comicon is proud to announce Amanda Tapping will be attending Comicon 2013. Born in England, raised in Canada and dubbed the Grand Empress of Sci-fi by her legion of loyal fans, Amanda is one of the most recognized actors working in television today.

Tapping played Samantha Crater on the long running Sci-fi series Startgate SG-1. She later reprised the roll on the spinoff Stargate Atlantis.  More recently Tapping worked on the SyFy channels series Sanctuary. Where she not only starred in the series but acted as the show’s executive producer. She also appeared in several episodes of The CW's show SuperNatural. This year she played lead roles in the films "Taken Back","Random Acts of Romance" and "Space Milkshake".

Behind the camera Amanda has been Executive Producer on "Sanctuary "and directed episodes of "Stargate SG-1" and "Sanctuary".  She is currently directing episodes of "Primeval New World" and Arctic Air," and a music video for Ta'Kaiya Blaney.

Phoenix Comicon is the signature pop culture experience of the southwest. Comicon is presenting guests and programming for hobbyists by attracting the top segments of the comics, anime, sci-fi, film, tv, and gaming industries. Entering its eleventh year, Phoenix Comicon is expected to draw over 40,000 attendees to its May 23-26, 2013 convention held at the Phoenix Convention Center and Hyatt Regency in Downtown Phoenix.
