Virginie Ledoyen Gives Parisian Stamp of Approval to “THE LAST BEAT “ joining lead Shawn Andrews in the BOHEMIA GROUP FEATURE FILM

Producing Team Bohemia Group Amps Up Pre-Production on Highly Anticipated Feature “The Last Beat”

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (November 29, 2010) – Writer and Director Robert Saitzyk (“Godspeed”) dives deeply into the torrid world of rock and roll to craft the realm that is the last days of rock star Jay Douglas in the film “The Last Beat.” Leading the cast in this powerful drama as the famous and tortured Douglas is Shawn Andrews, whose screen credits include the award winning “Fix” opposite Olivia Wilde, “Dazed and Confused” and “City of Ghosts,” and now attached is the César nominated French actress Virginie Ledoyen, who has been seen in films such as “Tout ce qui brille”, “The Army of Crime” and of course Danny Boyle's “The Beach.” Ledoyen will play Clémence, a French Countess involved in a turbulent love triangle between Jay Douglas and his self-professed "soul mate" -- the earthy, but fiery Valerie Eason.

“The Last Beat” explores the life of a world weary self exiled rock star searching for a more artistic existence as a poet and writer in Paris, with the hope of erasing his tarnished former stardom. The film’s rich storyline will be accompanied by a completely original soundtrack redolent with the influences of the early 70’s ranging from Rock n Roll to French Pop. “The Last Beat” will offer audiences a refreshing view of the turbulent end of the 60's and early 70’s along with an insightful perspective into the melancholy lifestyle and unerring clarity of a rock star and poet coming to terms with his own end.

“We’re thrilled to have Virginie Ledoyen opposite Shawn Andrews as Clémence, creating such an electrifying screen duo,” states Susan Ferris of Bohemia Group.

Saitzyk who is an award winning director with his films “Godspeed” and “After the Flood” recently teamed up with Los Angeles based management and production entity Bohemia Group, who’s specialties are global film and music endeavors. Bohemia principals Susan Ferris and Alison Buck will produce alongside helmer Saitzyk, and in addition they will also take on the duties of music supervisor and casting director respectively. Production is set to commence in late spring 2011 and will be shot primarily on location in Paris, France.

In Anderson’s epic series, it’s 1999 when a spectacular explosion at a lunar nuclear waste dump sends the moon out of Earth’s orbit, propelling the men and women of Moonbase Alpha on a treacherous journey across the universe. Left with no way home, the Moonbase residents, led by Landau (“Entourage,” Ed Wood) and Bain (“CSI,” “Mission: Impossible”), are forced to embark upon the greatest adventure of their lives, encountering bizarre life forms and strange phenomena as they struggle to survive among the awe-inspiring wonders of deepest space. And, although, their ultimate journey only lasted two seasons and, in a New York Times review (1975), noted author Issac Asimov thought it implausible that so large a lunar base would exist by 1999, SPACE: 1999 captured and enraptured the minds and souls of a sci-fi hungry generation.

With its progressive plotlines, outstanding cast and long list of celebrated guest stars, as well as astonishing special effects from Oscar® winner Brian Johnson (Alien, The Empire Strikes Back), SPACE: 1999 has secured its place as one of the most thought-provoking series of the 20th century -- and beyond. Image Comics' 27 #1 sells out at the distribution level

Berkeley, CA - 3 December 2010 - Will Garland may not survive to see his 28th birthday, but he can go knowing that he's a star if the sellout of the first issue of Image Comics and Shadowline's 27 is any indication!

Because of high demand, 27 #1 is already sold out at the distribution level, so Image Comics is taking the book back to press. The second printing of 27 #1 will be in stores January 5, 2011, the same day as the second issue.

27 is a four-issue series is written by Charles Soule (Strongman) and drawn by Renzo Podesta (Hard Drive, Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom) with covers by W. Scott Forbes (FORGETLESS). The book comes in the larger Golden Age format.

SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON – December 2, 2010 – SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced they have signed Chris Hemsworth to voice the title role and Tom Hiddleston to voice Loki in the upcoming action adventure Thor™: God of Thunder. Both actors’ likenesses will also be used in the game, which is based on the legendary franchise from Marvel Entertainment, and marks Thor’s first standalone appearance in a video game.

“Bringing in Chris and Tom to star in Thor: God of Thunder gives us AAA talent that will create a truly cinematic interactive experience,” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA of America. “Mighty Thor and the trickster Loki will face off with real emotion while giving fans visual and vocal continuity between the video game and film adaptations of the Marvel franchise.”

Thor: God of Thunder will take players through an original, epic-scale third-person action adventure for which Matt Fraction, the Eisner Award-winning writer and lead Thor comic book author, served as story consultant. In the game, Thor battles through the numerous worlds of Norse mythology to save Asgard. Thor: God of Thunder is scheduled for release spring 2011 on all major video game platforms.

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth played George Kirk in the 2009 Star Trek film before portraying the title role in Marvel Studios’ Thor film and SEGA’s upcoming game, and he will pick up the hammer once more in 2012 for Marvel Studios’ The Avengers. He has also appeared in a variety of TV roles and in films such as A Perfect Getaway, Ca$h and more.

In addition to voicing the role of Loki in Thor: God of Thunder, he plays Loki in the upcoming Thor film adaptation from Marvel Studios and in 2011 will also star in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and Steven Spielberg's War Horse.

A NEW ERA OF PRIMEVAL BEGINS NEW YEAR’S DAY

Hit sci-fi series to premiere in the U.S. same day as the UK

New Year’s Day marks a new beginning for acclaimed sci-fi series Primeval, when it premieres in the U.S. on BBC AMERICA, the same day as its UK broadcast. Returning to screens thanks to a unique international collaboration, including new co-producer BBC AMERICA, the series delivers ambitious adventures and opens the franchise to new audiences. From the creators of Walking With Dinosaurs and Survivors, Primeval sees the arrival of new faces and headquarters, along with the surprise return of some notable guest stars from earlier seasons. Primeval premieres Saturday, January 1, 9:00pm ET/PT.

When rips in time called anomalies started opening across the UK, dangerous creatures from the past and future began appearing in the most unexpected places, endangering lives and putting the whole of humanity at risk. A crack team of specialists were appointed by the government to deal with these “creature incursions.” This job has proven deadly for multiple team members and threats continue to escalate.

Ciarán McMenamin (Jericho, Demons), Alexander Siddig (Clash of the Titans, 24, Syriana, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and young Irish actress Ruth Kearney join the team at the Anomaly Research Center (ARC) after the government loses faith in Home Office official Lester’s (Ben Miller) ability to run such a dangerous and expensive operation on his own. The anomaly operation is now a public/private partnership, part-owned by the government, and partly by charismatic scientist Philip Burton (Siddig).

With Connor (Andrew-Lee Potts, Alice), Abby (Hannah Spearritt) and Danny (Jason Flemyng, X-Men: First Class, Snatch) trapped in the past at the end of season three, the ARC has found new recruits to take their place: Matt (McMenamin), the new field leader, who’s more than just an ex-soldier. He’s a zoologist, with an uncanny ability to understand animals. A private man, Matt carefully guards the secrets of his past and the real reason he joined the team. Unconventional Jess (Kearney) now runs operations from the ARC Control Centre. She is highly efficient and her work ethic is second to none, though she is human enough to nurse an unrequited crush on Captain Becker (Ben Mansfield).

The new season picks up approximately one year after the last season ended - Abby and Connor finally escape from the Cretaceous period, only to be followed by a giant Spinosaurus, the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs. A new ARC team springs into action, leaving Abby and Connor’s place within the team in jeopardy while their former leader Danny is still missing.

Perry Simon, General Manager, Channels, commented: “Primeval has always had a passionate following on BBC AMERICA. Our audiences loved the series so much that we simply had to save the show from extinction. New Year’s Day marks a new era not only for Primeval but for BBC AMERICA with a line up of fantastic Saturday night drama that will take us up to the summer and beyond. 2011 will bring BBC AMERICA viewers face-to-face with prehistoric monsters, clones and aliens, ghosts and the odd Timelord or two!”

Primeval returns to BBC AMERICA for two new seasons in 2011, thanks to an innovative deal between Impossible Pictures Limited (IPL), BBC Worldwide (BBCW) and ITV. Original co-production partners ITV, ProSieben and BBC Worldwide return to co-fund the new series, with BBC Worldwide becoming the majority funding partner. BBC AMERICA, is a full co-production credit for the first time and UKTV is a first-time investor.

Along with Primeval’s premiere over the holidays, there will be two Doctor Who U.S. premieres on Christmas Day. Doctor Who Prom, a live concert featuring stars Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill as hosts, airs Saturday, December 25, 1:00pm ET/PT and this year’s special, Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol with guest star Harry Potter’s Michael Gambon, airs that night at 9:00pm ET/PT.

NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART
Image Comics explains enigmatic teaser campaign

Berkeley, CA - 1 December 2010 - It's been hard to miss the teaser campaign that Image Comics has been running throughout the month of November. Were the images from one book? Several new series? At long last, Image is coming clean about those dirty little teasers...

In March 2011, Image is unleashing an all-new series written by showman Joe Casey (OFFICER DOWNE, GØDLAND) and drawn with dynamic intensity by Mike Huddleston (The Coffin). The name of this surreal homage to uber violence? BUTCHER BAKER, THE RIGHTEOUS MAKER.

"This one ain't for the faint of heart," declares Casey. "BUTCHER BAKER is a sleazy, mature readers superhero book about a semi-retired 'patriotic' superhero who gets the call for one last adventure. It's everything you want a superhero comicbook to be. It's simultaneously iconic and subversive and a whole lot of fun."

"I don't think I've ever had this much fun working on a book before," says Huddleston. "Joe has created a ridiculously ultra-violent and over-sexed world unlike anything anyone has read before. It's intense!"

Casey adds, "I feel like this series is a creative pinnacle for both of us. I know I'm pushing the envelope in unusual ways with this one, and Huddleston's art is as good as it gets."

"Joe's at his best when he's pushing against the walls of convention," offers Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson. "If you've read his work on Automatic Kafka, Wildcats 3.0 and GØDLAND, you're well aware of just how adept he is at stretching standard superhero tropes into something else, so believe me when I tell you the best is yet to come. All those teasers? Mere slivers of the gem Joe and Mike have been crafting these past few months. If this book doesn't rock your socks off, then you're dead inside."

BUTCHER BAKER was the preeminent All-American superhero. A long time ago. Now, he's getting laid... a lot. One last mission could return him to glory... IF he doesn't screw it up.

BUTCHER BAKER, THE RIGHTEOUS MAKER #1, a 32-page full-color comic book for $2.99, is available for order in the January issue of Diamond's Previews and hits stores in all its epically violent glory on March 30, 2011.

Image Comics is a comic book and graphic novel publisher founded in 1992 by a collective of best-selling artists. Image has since gone on to become one of the largest comics publishers in the United States. Image currently has five partners: Robert Kirkman, Erik Larsen, Todd McFarlane, Marc Silvestri and Jim Valentino. It consists of five major houses: Todd McFarlane Productions, Top Cow Productions, Shadowline, Skybound and Image Central. Image publishes comics and graphic novels in nearly every genre, sub-genre, and style imaginable. It offers science fiction, romance, horror, crime fiction, historical fiction, humor and more by the finest artists and writers working in the medium today. Second Annual Fund-raising Drive against Human Trafficking

Comic Creators Participate in National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

(December 1, 2010, Columbus OH) Comics Creators Alliance announced today the launch of their second annual fund-raising drive to raise funds to fight against Human Trafficking. Last year's drive raised a staggering ten thousand dollars and had over eighty seven artists working together on a special image just for the event. This year they hope to top not only proceeds, but the number of artists working on the project. In the spirit of upping the odds, this year's drive will include a print version of the piece available for purchase as well as the digital download. Artists have until the end of the year to contact the creator of this project, Lora Innes, at comicscreatoralliance@gmail.com to contribute artwork. The donation drive starts on National Human Trafficking Awareness Day which is January 11, 2011 and ends January 24, 2011. The official website for the drive is http://comicalliance.weebly.com/.

Comic artists currently participating are Adam Withers & Comfort Love (The Uniques), Crystal Yates (EarthSong), Lora Innes (The Dreamer), Billy Tucci (Shi), Scott Sava (Dreamland Chronicles) and Alan Evans (Rival Angels). As artists join the cause you can follow participants by visiting http://comicalliance.weebly.com/the-people.html. 100% of donations are being split between Love 146 (www.love146.org) and Grace Haven House (www.gracehavenhouse.org). To learn more about what you can do to end human trafficking visit http://comicalliance.weebly.com/links.html.

Innes organized the endeavor after being particularly moved at a seminar on the issue. Innes states “There are currently 27 million enslaved people worldwide- more than double the number of enslaved Africans during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. UNICEF estimates that 1.2 million children every year are sold into slavery, most of it sexual. The US Department of Justice estimates 16,000 victims of human trafficking are brought into the United States every year. With this many people being affected I just couldn’t sit there and not do something.”

Canadians Successful in quest to Kill Shakespeare with Release of Graphic Novel Adventure

Toronto, Canada: After a very successful initial run in comics, the creators of the Kill Shakespeare series are happy to announce the release of the first graphic novel, Kill Shakespeare Vol. 1: A Sea of Troubles. Conceived and written by Canadian-based creators Conor McCreery and Anthony Del Col, illustrated by Andy Belanger, and published by IDW Publishing (30 Days of Night, Transformers, True Blood), the graphic novel collects the first six issues of the sold-out twelve-issue series, offering a dark take on Shakespeare and his work, while pitting his greatest heroes against his most menacing villains.

The graphic novel was recently selected by the New York Times for their Holiday Gift Guide, declaring it, “gripping, violent and dark fun”, and nominated for the 2011 YALSA Good Graphic Novels for Teens list. It has received profiles on NPR, CBC Radio 3, Wired.com, The Globe and Mail and Publisher’s Weekly. The series was the subject of some controversy in April when Shakespearean scholar (and girlfriend of Frank Miller) Kimberly Cox posted a long rant against the series, but artists such as John Layman (Chew), Michael Hirst (The Tudors) and Des McAnuff (The Stratford Shakespeare Festival, Jersey Boys) have praised the series.

The Kill Shakespeare graphic novel, which offers an edgy interpretation of Shakespeare’s most famous characters, brings Hamlet, Juliet, Othello, Richard III, Lady Macbeth, Puck and others together for an epic adventure. In the book, readers encounter a banished Hamlet, who embarks on a quest to resurrect his dead father. But to do so, he must kill a reclusive wizard named… William Shakespeare! The graphic novel features a foreword by award-winning cartoonist Darwyn Cooke (New Frontiers, The Hunter, The Outfit), as well as a brand new five-page story that further explores the mythology of the Kill Shakespeare world.

IDW Publishing is also releasing today (November 30th) the first two issues of the series – which were sold out throughout North America and Europe - digitally through iTunes, to allow readers to sample the series before purchasing the book.

More information about the series can be found at www.killshakespeare.com. The graphic novel is available at all major comic and book stores.
