COLLEEN DORAN TO ADAPT NEIL GAIMAN’S “TROLL BRIDGE”

DECEMBER 22, 2015, MILWAUKIE, OR—As announced last week, Dark Horse Books is pleased to offer Troll Bridge, a beautiful graphic novel adaptation of a tale from the mind of master storyteller Neil Gaiman (Sandman), illustrated by artist Colleen Doran (Sandman, Orbiter).
Based on a story originally published in Gaiman’s Smoke and Mirrors: Short Fictions and Illusions, Troll Bridge is a tragic coming-of-age fantasy masterpiece. The artwork of the inimitable Colleen Doran makes this book a gorgeous new addition to your Gaiman library.
“She showed me an unusual style that isn’t like classic comics. Her pencils are wonderful, layered full-color drawings. They’re subversive, more like children’s book illustrations from 50 years ago,” said Neil Gaiman in an exclusive interview with Publishers Weekly.
Troll Bridge tells the story of Jack, a young boy whose world was full of ghosts and ghouls, one of which—a ravenous and hideous troll—would haunt him long into manhood. As the beast sups upon a lifetime of Jack’s fear and regret, Jack must find the courage within himself to face the fiend once and for all.

WOLF TEARS INTO NEW STORY ARC
Featuring artist Ricardo Lopez Ortiz

Bestselling writer Ales Kot (ZERO, THE SURFACE) and artist Ricardo Lopez Ortiz (ZERO) will launch a new story arc in their ongoing mythical noir series WOLF this January.
Previously in WOLF, Antoine Wolfe got us rolling on the road to hell and back when he and the teenaged maybe-Antichrist Anita kicked off what might just be the Apocalypse.
In WOLF #5, Anita and Wolfe try to pick up the pieces—five years later.
"WOLF #5 begins 4 years after the events of the first collection, and everything in the comic reflects that—down to the creative team. While Matt Taylor is still in charge of all the collected edition covers together with our designer, Tom Muller, the monthly artist torch has been passed to Ricardo Lopez Ortiz, a fantastic new talent whose qualities far outweigh his still modest comics credentials,” said Kot. “Wolfe wakes up in a prison that will seem familiar to careful readers—while Anita drags something dead back home. A home that features more than one character you may have assumed gone forever… but in comics, as in life, unexpected resurrections sometimes happen when you're looking the other way—or when you're waiting for a new issue."
“As tough as it is to fill in the giant art shoes that Matt Taylor left behind, I'm incredibly excited to take over on art duties for this new arc of Wolf,” said Ortiz. “The whole creative team has come together beautifully and concocted an eerily fun and mind-bending trip of a story that will knock readers for a loop and leave them hungry for more.”
WOLF #5 (Diamond code: NOV150576) hits stores Wednesday, January 20th. Final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, December 28th.

REVIVAL STEPS OUT IN NEW STORY ARC
Issue #36 is a stand-alone before the new arc begins

New York Times bestselling writer Tim Seeley (HACK/SLASH) and Eisner Award-winning artist Mike Norton (IT GIRL & THE ATOMICS) will launch a special stand-alone issue in their ongoing rural noir series REVIVAL this January.
Previously in REVIVAL, the rural town of Wausau, Wisconsin was rocked by a vicious attack on its county courthouse, and Dana fought to protect Em from the scarred assassin Black Deer—casting a harsh light on the goings-on at The Farm in the process.
In REVIVAL #36, 98-year-old fitness guru Lester Majak reassesses what it means to live forever in a city full of the undead.
“Issue #36 focuses on one man's experience in Wausau, in the new status quo set up after issue #35,” said Seeley. “It's a bittersweet story about living with death when that doesn't mean what it used to.”
REVIVAL #36 (Diamond code NOV150539) hits stores Wednesday, January 27th. Final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, January 4th.

THE DISCIPLINE IS A DARK, SEDUCTIVE MYSTERY
An all-new series about sex, death, and metamorphosis
Bestselling writer Peter Milligan (X-Force / X-Statix) and artist Leandro Fernandez (Queen & Country) team up for an all-new series, THE DISCIPLINE, launching from Image Comics this March.

In THE DISCIPLINE #1 readers meet Melissa, one woman who—between fighting her sister and hating her husband—still finds time to fall in lust with a stranger who's an awful lot more than he seems.

“This might be the edgiest story I've written,” said Milligan. “In most ‘erotic thrillers’ sex is the end-game, the objective. In The Discipline the erotic charge is simply a step towards something stranger, darker… beyond human.”

What appears to be a simple seduction is revealed as something much darker and more dangerous.

This controversial and erotically-charged tale of sex, death, and metamorphosis begins with an explosion of carnality and weirdness. THE DISCIPLINE #1 (Diamond Code JAN160523) will hit comic book stores on Wednesday, March 2nd. The final order cutoff deadline for comic book retailers is Monday, February 8th.
