BIG MAN PLANS—A REVENGE STORY THAT WILL SHOCK YOU
An all-new crime series with retribution at its heart
An all-new crime series with retribution at its heart
Eric Powell, Eisner award-winning creator of The Goon, teams up with Tim Wiesch for a brutal crime drama steeped in mystery this March 2015.
In BIG MAN PLANS, even the most marginalized in society can exact revenge if they don’t care how they do it.
The two have discussed the project since late 2012, going back and forth over texts, emails, and phone calls. “This project was born out of drunken conversations Tim Wiesch and I had while I was a vagabond living in his basement for a month,” admitted Powell. “This is what happens when kids of construction workers get really drunk for a long period of time and are given a creative outlet. This book is nothing but brutality and in a weird way the most noble project I’ve done. If people don’t freak out over this thing, my entire @&$%ing career has been a lie!”
Wiesch added: “This is going to be dark. Very, very dark. What's been amazing is working with someone who doesn't flinch when you offer up an incredibly visceral or painful part of the story but instead wants to help push it even further.
“When we were coming up with the story, we were looking for a way to embody a truly marginalized version of a man without just playing with worn-out tropes and comic clichés. Someone that would never be even remotely considered tough, let alone as the violent specter of revenge and death that we were looking for. No super powers, no crazy martial arts. Just a man driven beyond his own limitations by rage.”
BIG MAN PLANS #1 arrives in stores on 3/4 and can be pre-ordered with Diamond Code JAN150572.

GO AHEAD, BITE OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW
The New York Times bestselling series begins a new story arc, announces vol. 9 trade paperback
The New York Times bestselling series begins a new story arc, announces vol. 9 trade paperback
Writer
John Layman and artist Rob Guillory serve up more CHEW this February
from Image Comics with an all-new story arc and trade paperback with
CHEW #46 and CHEW, VOL. 9 respectively.
A multiple Eisner Award winning and New York Times bestselling series, CHEW #46 provides the perfect jumping-on point for readers and will introduce a new partner, new boss, and new problems to the new CHEW storyline.
Only 15 issues remain to the series—with a planned ending at issue #60—and the stakes will be raised for Tony Chu with each new plot twist. “Chew continues to drastically change its own status quo from issue to issue and arc to arc,” said Layman. “As we enter the final quarter of the book things will continue to accelerate. Change will come fast, and change will be permanent."
Guillory added: "John and I began Chew with a very specific end in mind. Now, with only 15 issues of Chew left, we're hitting the gas pedal in a very big way. Things are escalating to fever pitch, and no character is safe."
CHEW #46 will be available on February 25 and can be pre-ordered using Diamond Code DEC140631. CHEW, VOL. 9 (ISBN: 978-1632152894) will be in comic book stores on February 25 as well and can be pre-ordered with Diamond Code DEC140632.
