WALKER STALKER CON BRINGS MAJOR CELEBRITIES FROM
ZOMBIE, HORROR AND SCI‐FI FILMS AND TV SHOWS TO BOSTON
THIS JUNE
==============================================
BOSTON, MA – Walker Stalker Con, a zombie and horror themed fan‐centric
convention, will be held at The Westin Boston Waterfront in Boston, MA
on June 13,
14 & 15, 2014. Fan access to celebrity guests will be the primary focus of this event.
In Atlanta, GA on November 1‐3, 2013, Walker Stalker Con made its debut
where it assembled more “The Walking Dead” cast members than any other
convention ever before, along with other actors from zombie and horror
films. The inaugural event had over 10,500 attendees. In Chicago, IL on
March 14‐16, 2014, Walker Stalker Con made its second appearance as a
convention and the first Walker Stalker Con of 2014. Now,
Walker Stalker Con has set its sights on Boston!
With cast members from “The Walking Dead” returning to the upcoming
Boston convention, along with stars from other zombie and horror films,
Walker Stalker Con
continues to position itself to be particularly unique.
Walker Stalker Con is the fruit of The Walker Stalkers Podcast with James & Eric (www.thewalkerstalkers.com). The podcast began with an amazing trip to Senoia, GA
where James & Eric were able to view the set of The Walking Dead and
meet the incredible actors from the show. As a result of this
experience, a podcast began and then the idea of a convention focused
around recreating that same experience with the cast and crew of the
show, along with talented actors and artists from other zombie shows,
movies and art.
In April 2013, James and Eric decided a podcast wasn’t enough, so they
launched a Zombie, Horror and Sci‐Fi themed fan‐centric convention
called Walker Stalker Con
(http://walkerstalkercon.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c419cc2ced13e931f32be4e38&id=a35e9ca8e0&e=9d1648f98c).
"We hope to continue this same kind of access and involvement as we did
with our successful convention in Atlanta," say James Frazier and Eric
Nordhoff, hosts of the podcast. “We want fans of TV shows, films and
comics in this genre to have a chance to have real interaction with
their favorite celebrities – not just a 10 second hand shake and photo
opp.”
Walker Stalker Con is not just a convention. It is a fan meet‐up and an
opportunity for each guest to come away feeling like they’ve had an
amazing experience and became part of a greater community of zombie
lovers! Walker Stalker Con is three days of events, panels, and
experiences that zombie fans won’t find anywhere else!
Confirmed guests for the convention include:

DARK HORSE ANNOUNCES ANDREW VACHSS UNDERGROUND!
ANNAHEIM, CA – APRIL 18 – Acclaimed author Andrew Vachss
hits home with an unapologetic approach guaranteed to leave readers
with plenty to think about. From the hard-boiled crime and suspense of
the anthology series, Hard Looks, to the powerful and poignant Another Chance to Get it Right: A Children’s Book for Adults, his work continues to challenge the norms of prose.
Dark Horse is proud to present Underground,
a work of “speculative fiction” with a clear connection to current
events…particularly how such events are presented in the media. Based on
the script of the same name by Andrew Vachss, the book is adapted by Chet Wiliamson and Mike Richardson, with art by Dominic Reardon!
When all sources of “news” are so clearly biased that none can be considered even remotely trustworthy or reliable, there is
no news . . . and “The Terror” descends. For decades, The Rulers have
been using prisoner and slave labor to construct Underground, confident
that all those who flee there will willingly trade their freedom for
security. Now, “truth” is what the Rulers say it is, and The Rulers rule
all aspects of the human existence. But even within this antiseptically
evil world, a revolutionary movement is brewing. A new breed of
journalists— “The Book Boys”—risk everything to graffiti the truth on
Underground’s pristine walls. The intolerable act of creating a reliable
source of truth––“If it’s written in blue, it must be true.”––is
against The Rules ––a huge bounty has been offered for identification or
capture of any of this crew.
This original graphic novel will
challenge readers to reexamine the way the media governs their own
lives, in print, on air and online, with a chilling account of
willingly-accepted oppression and individual autonomy for the comfort of
fascism! Underground is a new genre: the Graphic Novel presented as a visual Movie, adapted from the original screenplay of Andrew Vachss by Mike Richardson and noted author Chet Williamson.
Find the truth––and what it costs to those who dare to disseminate––it at finer comic shops everywhere on October 29 in a beautiful hardcover edition of Underground priced at $29.99!
Global Artist Yoshiki Pens Theme Song for Globally Anticipated SAINT SEIYA
(a.k.a Knights of the Zodiac)
Film World's hottest collaboration finally a reality
Tokyo, Japan - April 18, 2014 - Yoshiki, leader of globally renowned band X Japan, has written the worldwide theme song for the new movie version of SAINT SEIYA (a.k.a Knights of the Zodiac), brought to film to honor the 40th anniversary Masami Kurumada's passionate career as a manga creator.
SAINT SEIYA was a highly popular series in the manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump
in 1985-1990. The manga was made into anime and broadcast on television
only nine months after it began to be published; an unusually fast
transition into animation on television at that time. The anime earned
deeply rooted popularity among many fans with its diverse array of
deadly techniques utilized by attractive characters and knights. It
became a masterpiece representative of the 1980s. The total worldwide
number of copies printed of the original books reached 34.4 million and
the animated version was broadcast on television in over 80 countries
including France, Italy and Brazil, gaining a tremendous following and
cementing its popularity.
Yoshiki penned the worldwide theme song for the new movie based on SAINT SEIYA.
Yoshiki is the leader and pianist of X Japan, and also just announced
that he will embark on a world solo tour, Yoshiki Classical World Tour
2014, playing 13 venues in 10 countries. The song is called "Hero
(Yoshiki Classical Version)," and will be sung by Katie Fitzgerald,
vocalist of Violet UK, a band also led by Yoshiki. The main reason for
the collaboration is that Yoshiki's global success synchronizes with the
world tour of the SAINT SEIYA movie. A new legend will be born with the fusion of contents and an artist that have seized the world's attention.
Hero (by Yoshiki) - Theme Song for Saint Seiya: The Movie (2014) |
On the collaboration Yoshiki said, "I feel greatly honored to write the theme song for SAINT SEIYA. I truly believe I have created a touching song with a beautiful melody using a hero as the motif. I very happily accepted this offer since I of course knew SAINT SEIYA
and I am a great fan of anime. I saw the manga a long time ago. Before
writing the song I had the chance to see the new movie, which feels like
it was created at a magnificent scale. I actually faced a big struggle
with matching my music with the movie. The result is a sort of ballad,
rather than a loud piece. I think the song suits the magnificent scale
sensitivity of SAINT SEIYA. I will play this song during the upcoming Yoshiki Classical World Tour at 13 venues in 10 countries."
Original work author and executive producer: Masami Kurumada
Director: Keiichi Sato; scenario writer: Tomohiro Suzuki: CG director: Ei Sato; musical director: Yoshihiro Ike

"Hero (Yoshiki Classical Version)" (written by Yoshiki)
Yoshiki
is the leader, drummer and pianist of X Japan, a Japanese rock band
that debuted in 1989. His past solo works include a song honoring the
10th anniversary of the accession of the Emperor of Japan (1999), the
official theme song of the Aichi Expo (2005) and the official theme song
for the Golden Gloves (2012).
Yoshiki Classical,
Yoshiki's solo album released last year, was his first in roughly eight
years. The epic work comprises newly released pieces and greatest hits
from his previous two solo albums. This latest release, the subject of
worldwide attention, was ranked #1 in the iTunes Store classical music
album section in 10 countries including Canada, Japan and other Asian
countries. The work also made the top 10 in France, Norway and
Australia.
The
movie's theme song, "Hero (Yoshiki Classical Version)," is performed as
a classical version based on piano played by Yoshiki and sung by Katie
Fitzgerald, a vocalist from Violet UK, also led by Yoshiki.
His first world solo tour "YOSHIKI CLASSICAL WORLD TOUR PART 1" begins April 25, with performances at 13 venues in 10 countries.
