DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT TO PUBLISH WHITE SAND,
A SERIES OF ORIGINAL GRAPHIC NOVELS BY BRANDON SANDERSON

Introducing a Brand New Saga of Magic and Adventure
by
#1 New York Times Best-Selling Author

MARCH 17th, MOUNT LAUREL, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce the publication of a new trilogy of graphic novels from New York Times best-selling author Brandon Sanderson! White Sand triumphantly brings to life Sanderson's unpublished novel, a crucial missing part of Sanderson's sprawling Cosmere universe.

Welcome to Taldain, a planet like no other. Taldain has no rotation; instead it is forever locked in place, one half in brilliant sunlight, the other in eternal night. The most powerful figures on Dayside are the Sand Masters, harnessing arcane powers to magically manipulate sand for construction, transportation, and spectacular displays of attack and defense. The weakest of their number is Kenton, whose paltry abilities pale in comparison to his peers and to his father, the powerful Lord Mastrell Praxton.

However, a conspiracy is afoot on Dayside that threatens the stability of the whole planet. When the Sand Masters are ambushed and slaughtered, Kenton believes himself to be the sole survivor. With enemies closing in on all sides, Kenton finds himself in an unlikely partnership with a mysterious Darksider called Khriss -- who hides secrets of her own.

White Sand has been adapted by Rik Hoskin, scripter of Amazon's best-selling Mercy Thompson graphic novel, with art by Julius Gopez and colors by Ross Campbell. With the creative team working so closely with Sanderson, White Sand promises to be a spectacular new saga for lovers of fantasy and adventure, as its powerful imagery and storyline are built on Sanderson's celebrated approach to magical systems.
"Dynamite has been excellent to work with. Rik Hoskin, the person hired to do the adaptation, is a fantastic writer - and he really managed to preserve the core of my story, using my own dialogue and descriptions, while cutting out all the chaff," says author Brandon Sanderson. "The artist Julius Gopez, the colorist Ross Campbell, the letterer Marshall Dillon, and the editor Rich Young have all done a fabulously great job."
"I've admired Brandon Sanderson's brilliant writing ever since I first read his work on the Wheel of Time series, after he assumed the reins from Robert Jordan," says Nick Barrucci, CEO/Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment. "Thanks to our chats with his agent Joshua Bilmes, we sealed a deal to work with Brandon directly, and White Sand is the first project born from that exciting venture! We're very excited to be working hand-in-hand with him, and can't wait for fans to read this mind-blowing original graphic novel."
White Sand Vol. 1 is on sale at finer comic shops and bookstores everywhere this June, and features 160 pages of spellbinding story and breathtaking art, from a true master of the genre! Look for this deluxe hardcover format for $24.99.

IMAGE EXPO SPRING FORMAL
TO HONOR THE VALKYRIES

Image Expo after party will celebrate diversity and the comics community

Image Expo Spring Formal dance will be held on Wednesday evening from 8 p.m. - 12 a.m. at The Showbox Market theater and will celebrate diversity and community in the comics industry. The traditional Spring Formal crowning ceremony will focus on a very special thank you to The Valkyries—a group that has made great strides over the past several years building an accepting, inclusive community and repeatedly championing diversity within the comics industry—and will highlight the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund’s important efforts to protect and promote diverse creators and their work.

New York Times bestselling artist Babs Tarr (The New 52’s Batgirl) will emcee the Valkyrie crowning ceremony and all registered Valkyrie members are encouraged to attend by submitting their credentials here for a complimentary ticket to the Formal by Friday, March 25.

New York Times bestselling creators of THE WICKED + THE DIVINE, Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie, will offer their DJ-ing skills (and dance moves) while attendees dance, mingle, knock back signature cocktails, snap silly selfies at the step-and-repeat or in the photo booth.

“Obviously, Jamie and I play all kinds of music, varying from early-period Robyn, to mid-period Robyn lightened with a little sprinkling of late-period Robyn,” teased Gillen. “But really, this is the first opportunity we've had to bring the Thought Bubble dancefloor experience over Stateside, which is basically The Church Of The Wicked + the Divine (featuring the sacristy of Phonogram). The aim is to make people dance in ways they really shouldn't, and we - and our handpicked colleagues—will do anything to achieve our goal. Admittedly, this will inevitably involve some Robyn. You know what we're like.”

Presented in the style and spirit of a traditional Spring Formal dance, attendees must be 18+ and are encouraged to don their formal wear for a night on the tiles with their fellow comics fans, creators, press, and retailers. Tickets available here.

The Spring Formal will follow on the heels of Image Expo. IMAGE EXPO 2016 will feature a line-up of some of the hottest names in comics and offers a uniquely experience for fans to have unprecedented access to the writers and artists behind their favorite comic books at exclusive autograph sessions and comic-focused programming. In addition, Premium Admission Ticket holders will enjoy an admission ticket to 18+ Image Comics' Spring Formal dance—a chance to mingle with creators, press, retailers, and fellow fans, an Image T–shirt, an Image tote bag, EXPO exclusive variants, Priority seating, and access to the Premium signing.

Dark Horse to Publish 1980s Cult Classic “Ranx”

Collected for First Time in English!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MILWAUKIE, OR—Dark Horse Comics is pleased to announce that it will be publishing the classic Heavy Metal series Ranx for the first time in English since its debut in the 1980s.
This volume collects all of the Ranx stories by two Italian comic masters, writer Stefano Tamburini and artist Tanino Liberatore.
Ranx (also known as RanXerox) is a sci-fi antihero made of photocopier parts and ultraviolence. In a futuristic dystopia, he protects his girlfriend Lubna from vicious drug dealers on a brutal path of sex, carnage, and destruction.
The hardcover will be released on November 9, 2016. Preorder your copy today at your local comic book store or favorite retailer.
“Tanino Liberatore. Italian. Acid-fueled son of R. Corben. His dwindling output is still crowned by his RanXerox.”—Guillermo del Toro
“Ranx is a punk, futuristic Frankenstein monster, and with the under-aged Lubna, they are a bizarre Beauty and the Beast. This artist and writer team have turned a dark mirror to the depths of our id, and we see reflected the base part of ourselves that would take what it wants with no compromise, no apology—and woe to the person who would cross us. But it is all done with a black, wry, satirical sense of humor.”—Richard Corben
“The Ranx character is a punky, post-apocalyptic android built from spare Xerox machine parts. All RanXerox stories were luxuriously illustrated with bizarre, violent and, to put it lightly, unchaste story lines.”—TwitchFilm

NAILBITER SINKS ITS TEETH INTO A NEW CHAPTER: BOUND BY BLOOD

Writer Joshua Williamson (BIRTHRIGHT) and artist Mike Henderson (Venom, Carnage) will launch a new story arc in their hit horror series NAILBITER this May.

Previously in NAILBITER, NSA agent Nicholas Finch found himself roped into the mystery of Buckaroo, Oregon, where sixteen of the world’s vilest serial killers were spawned—and his life has not gotten any simpler since. A new serial killer appeared, for one; not to mention the commitment of more grisly murders and a major revelation about Alice’s parentage.

In NAILBITER #21, Alice now knows that the Nailbiter is her father. Does that mean she will grow up to be a serial killer?

"It's awesome that we're starting year three of Nailbiter! The team and I are so thankful to the readers and retailers for keeping us alive and killing for the last two years,” said Williamson. “We've been building to the Bound by Blood story arc since the beginning, slowly revealing the secret relationships between the characters. And now with this story arc we focus on Alice as she learns some dark truths about her past. The only way for her to know everything is if she solves the town's big secret...why does it give birth to so many serial killers? How has it been hidden for so long? Crazy things are going to be revealed in this story arc...and it's going to be very bloody!"

"Another year, another arc, another murder spree!” said Henderson. “We can't thank everyone who's kept Nailbiter going strong enough but just to try: Alice takes center stage and learns some new things about her ever-weirder world and the result is some of our darkest and bloodiest yet."

NAILBITER #21 (Diamond code: MAR160550) hits stores Wednesday, May 4th. Final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, April 11th.

MATT WAGNER RETURNS TO THE SHADOWWITH THE DEATH OF MARGO LANE!

Wagner Writes AND Draws All-New Five-Issue Series!

MARCH 17, MOUNT LAUREL, NJ: Legendary creator Matt Wagner returns to both write and draw an all-new tale for the first and most famous of all pulp heroes, The Shadow!

Following his critically-acclaimed work on The Shadow: Year One and Grendel vs. The Shadow, Wagner once again lends his masterful talents to unveil "what evil lurks in the hearts of men." In a storyline that is sure to rock The Shadow's relentless crusade against crime, Dynamite is proud to bring readers The Death of Margo Lane - a six-issue series masterfully written and drawn by Wagner and colored by his son, Brennan Wagner, a rapidly rising talent in today's industry.

"I've been a huge fan of The Shadow since my early teens and I just had to come back to the character by both writing and drawing this exciting and critical storyline" says Matt Wagner. "The Death of Margo Lane is a series that will challenge The Shadow on many levels… and leave him changed in ways he had never expected."

For years, Margo Lane has served as The Shadow's faithful "friend and companion", the closest and most intimate of all his many agents. But when will that proximity to The Shadow's dark and violent world take its ultimate toll on her? And what effect will his lover's loss have on the driven and brooding Master of Darkness? This series presents a powerful and resonant tale in the sort of pulse-pounding pulp style that only Matt Wagner could deliver!

"Working with Matt remains a high water mark in my career and with each and every project we work on together, my respect and admiration for his skills as a storyteller grows beyond bounds I thought possible," says Senior Editor Joseph Rybandt. "Working in pure pulp mode, with the definitive pulp character, Matt is a force of nature."

"We've worked with Matt as a writer on quite a few great series at Dynamite, and he's graced series with covers," says Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci. "This is the first time we have been fortunate enough to have Matt both write AND draw a series at Dynamite, making this one of the most important books that we will have published to date."

In addition to the beautifully drawn cover to the first issue, qualifying retailers will be eligible for a special classic crime noir black-and-white variant version. Details available in the April dated issue of Diamond's Previews catalog.

Look for the premiere issue of this five-issue series on June 1st at your local comic book retailer!

IDW GAMES RELEASING BIG BOX GODFATHER BOARD GAME THIS SUMMER!
THERE'S A NEW DON IN TOWN, AND IT COULD BE YOU

San Diego, CA (March 16th, 2016) Control the streets of New York and bring power to your family in this summer's The Godfather: A New Don. Designed by Jay Cormier and Sen-Foong Lim (Orphan Black, Belfort), The Godfather: A New Don is a game for 3-6 players that sees each player taking control of one of the major mafia families, each trying to assert their power in the streets of 1950's New York in hopes of taking the reigns as the new kingpin of the criminal world. The game is playable in approximately 45 minutes.

"I'm excited that we created an area control game that uses dice in a unique way! It's accessible for inexperienced gamers but deep enough to please the serious gamers!" said Jay Cormier

"We've come up with a special blend of strategy and negotiation mixed with just the right amount of luck to capture the feeling of the crime families vying for control of New York. I really enjoyed tying the facets of the film into the game's mechanisms," added Sen-Foong Lim.

The Godfather: A New Don is an area control board game with unique dice mechanics. Each round players will roll their individual pools of dice and decide what area of the city they'll want to focus on trying to capture. Meanwhile, the current Don will be able to make players an offer they can't refuse and steal dice from their limited supply. Staying on top proves difficult as every stolen die moves other players up the ladder toward taking over as Don, so the tension rises with each shake of the dice. With multiple ways to use each dice you roll, players will never find themselves at the mercy of the die, instead they'll use what they roll to make their opponents beg for mercy.
