KILL SHAKESPEARE PART OF CANADIAN COMICS INVASION HEADING FOR SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON!
Toronto, Canada: Hot on the heels of the success of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, another Canadian comic book series is beginning to make waves in the comic and media world. Kill Shakespeare Entertainment and IDW Publishing will officially announce at the next week’s San Diego Comic-Con that the first two issues of the 12-issue series Kill Shakespeare have sold out. “We are excited to see that fans are reacting to our unique take on the Bard, and we’re very happy that retailers across North America are already reporting that they’ve sold out of our third issue as well” says co-creator Anthony Del Col.
Issue #3 of the IDW series that mashes up Shakespeare’s characters was released in stores across North America and the U.K. on July 8, 2010 on a wave of great reviews, and the fourth issue is slated to be released the first week of August. Co-created and co-written by Conor McCreery and Anthony Del Col, the artwork is overseen by fellow Canadian Andy Belanger.
Kill Shakespeare is the latest in an onslaught of Canadian-creator series that have become comic book hits and attracted the interest of Hollywood production companies. It’s a list that includes Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim, Jeff Lemire’s The Nobody and fellow IDW creator Darwyn Cooke’s heavily praised re-imagination of classic noir character Parker in The Hunter.
“We’re happy to be part of this Canadian comic renaissance,” said McCreery “It’s a fantastically supportive community, and we’re looking forward to spreading the word in San Diego about what a hotbed for comics the frozen North truly is.”
About the series:
Kill Shakespeare is an adventure story that pits all of Shakespeare’s greatest heroes (including Hamlet, Juliet, Falstaff, Othello, Puck) against the Bard’s most menacing villains (including Richard III, Lady Macbeth, Iago) in a quest to track down and kill – or save – a reclusive wizard by the name of William Shakespeare. Called by Aint it Cool News as, “A great read”, the series has been profiled by NPR, CBC Radio 3, Wired.com, The Globe and Mail and Publisher’s Weekly. It also created controversy in April when Shakespearean scholar (and girlfriend of comics legend Frank Miller) Kimberly Cox railed against the title on popular U.K. comic blog BleedingCool.com, while other scholars raced to defend it.
Both Del Col and McCreery will be available for interviews during the San Diego Comic-Con and also in Los Angeles the week of July 26th – 30th.
More information about the series can be found at www.killshakespeare.com.

SHOWTIME® LAUNCHES "DEXTER GAME ON" AT COMIC-CON
In A Television Network First, SHOWTIME Teams Up With
SCVNGR To Design An Interactive Mobile Experience
NEW YORK, NY – (July 15, 2010) – As part of a multi-tiered programming, digital and marketing campaign custom-designed for the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, SHOWTIME announced the launch of Dexter Game On (DexterGameOn.com), an interactive promotional game that will take place simultaneously at San Diego Comic-Con and in five other major cities across the U.S. from Wednesday, July 21 to Sunday, July 25. SHOWTIME has worked with SCVNGR – an iPhone and Android-based application that is all about going places, doing challenges and earning points – to build DEXTER™-themed challenges for the game. The collaboration marks the first time that a television network has teamed up with SCVNGR.
Players of Dexter Game On are asked to step into Dexter’s mind to unlock exclusive content from the series' upcoming fifth season and for a chance to pick up DEXTER-themed merchandise, including season four DVDs. Devoted fans of the series know that all of Dexter's victims are marked with a small incision on their right cheek, and at Comic-Con, those fans can show their love for the series by sporting a DEXTER "cheek slash" tattoo. SHOWTIME will hand out over 100,000 lick-'n-stick tattoos during all four days of Comic-Con. Tattoos will be available throughout the convention floor, at the SHOWTIME booth (#4129), and will be distributed by street teams outside the convention center.
.
Fans are encouraged to take pictures of themselves sporting their tattoos at various locations around the convention and upload them to the Dexter Game On site (DexterGameOn.com). At Comic-Con, players will explore San Diego through the check-in-based Dexter-themed Trek on SCVNGR (scvngr.com) – venues will range from the SHOWTIME booth, to an innocent coffee shop nearby, and will culminate in a "crime scene" location to be revealed near the convention center. As gamers complete the trek, they will have the opportunity to earn limited edition SCVNGR badges that can be redeemed for DEXTER merchandise, including the early release of 250 copies of the DEXTER season four DVD.
Fans that are unable to join SHOWTIME at Comic-Con can actively play in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle and Atlanta with SCVNGR treks custom designed locally for their area. SHOWTIME has also created a new "cheek-slash-yourself" Facebook application, where fans can upload tattoos directly to their online profile photos on Facebook. Fans playing DEXTER GAME ON across the country will work as a hive – each challenge completed at Comic-Con, in the five participating cities, and via Facebook gets tallied on the official counter on DexterGameOn.com. Once the Dexter community amasses 100,000 completed challenges, a never-before-seen sneak peek of the series' upcoming fifth season will be unlocked and available for all fans to see.
"At SHOWTIME, we pride ourselves for being at the cutting edge of technology and are excited to be the first television network to join forces with Scvngr," said Robert Hayes, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Digital Media, Showtime Networks Inc. "Comic-Con is the perfect venue to further engage our loyal fans with this robust interactive social media game, while providing added value to our over three million Dexter fans on Facebook."
"The DEXTER challenges on SCVNGR are truly killer," said Seth Priebatsch, Chief Ninja of SCVNGR. "Fans should grab the SCVNGR app and play Dexter Game On at Comic-Con, and all across the country to help unlock an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming fifth season of DEXTER."
As previously announced, SHOWTIME will headline the opening day of San Diego Comic-Con hosting two panels on Thursday, July, 22 in Ballroom 20. THE ANTI-HEROES OF SHOWTIME (4:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.) will feature series creators, showrunners and actors who have helped define the network's programming line-up. Featured panelists include Michael C. Hall and DEXTER showrunner Chip Johannessen, David Duchovny and executive producer and creator Tom Kapinos of Californication, Mary-Louise Parker and executive producer and creator Jenji Kohan of Weeds, along with Linda Wallem, executive producer, writer and one of the creators of NURSE JACKIE and series star Paul Schulze.
Then, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Comic-Con will once again welcome America's favorite serial killer with a revealing interview and Q&A session with the stars and executive producers of Dexter that will include an exclusive first-look trailer of the highly anticipated season five premiere. Featured panelists include series star/executive producer Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, Desmond Harrington, and executive producers John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Chip Johannessen and Manny Coto. The fifth season of DEXTER premieres September 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT only on SHOWTIME.
SHO.com will launch a dedicated Comic-Con microsite that will bring the convention experience to the fans that are not able to attend. The site will host the highly anticipated season five Dexter trailer and content from the Anti-Hero panel, to be showcased immediately after the Comic-Con panels.

TV.com's editorial team will provide round-the-clock coverage of the biggest news on the hottest television shows at the convention, including interviews and coverage broadcast from CBS booth #4129 on the exhibit floor. GameSpot.com, covering Comic-Con from a video game perspective, will feature stage demonstrations as well as interviews with the biggest movers and shakers in the gaming industry.
For THE EARLY SHOW's coverage from San Diego, special correspondent and "Superfan" Tyler McGill will mix with the ultimate fans of pop culture and report live from the convention on Friday, July 23. This is McGill's fourth special assignment for the morning show since his impressive on-air debut last month to discuss his 218-mile walk from Boston to New York to win Celtics playoff tickets.
Additionally, Showtime Networks' SHO.com is launching a dedicated Comic-Con microsite which will host the season five "Dexter" trailer and content from the Anti-Hero panel, both to be showcased after their respective panels.
SHOWTIME's anti-hero messaging will be prominently featured throughout Comic-Con with high-impact advertising both inside and outside of the convention center. The official lanyards for the over 130,000 Comic-Con attendees will be branded by SHOWTIME's anti-hero creative, and in a media company first, so will every shuttle bus at Comic-Con.
SHOWTIME will also launch "Dexter Game On" (www.DexterGameOn.com), an interactive game exclusively for Comic-Con where players will step into Dexter's mind and unlock content from season five. As devoted "Dexter" fans know, all of Dexter's victims are marked with a small incision on their right cheek, and fans at Comic-Con can show their love for the series by sporting a "Dexter" cheek slash tattoo. SHOWTIME will distribute over 100,000 lick-'n-stick tattoos throughout all four days of Comic-Con. Fans are encouraged to take pictures of themselves at various locations around the convention and upload them to the "Dexter Game On" site. As they play throughout the weekend, gamers have the chance to unlock exclusive content and pick up "Dexter"-themed merchandise including season four DVDs.

CBS's Teching Out on TV (Sat., July 24, 2:00-3:00 PM, Room 7AB)
Since the debut of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" 10 years ago, the use of technology has increasingly become a major character of sorts in many of today's most popular crime procedurals, including the CBS series "CSI: Miami," "CSI: NY," "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Criminal Minds." CBS's heroes and the anti-heroes of SHOWTIME will make their mark at Comic-Con 2010 in San Diego from July 21 through 25. The company's extensive presence through panels, a booth, autograph signings and a joint "Fandemonium" party with Entertainment Weekly will provide Comic-Con fans with multiple opportunities to engage with CBS and Showtime Networks' popular stars and creative teams.
The SHOWTIME and CBS panels will include a session on the three-time Emmy® Award-nominated and Peabody Award-winning series "Dexter;" a special SHOWTIME Anti-Hero panel featuring the stars and creative talent behind some of television's most subversive characters, including "Weeds," "Nurse Jackie" and "Californication;" a session on the highly anticipated return of the iconic series, "Hawaii Five-0;" and CBS's "Teching Out on TV" panel comprised of stars who play the beloved tech-geek characters on "NCIS," "NCIS: LA" and "Criminal Minds" to be joined by both the creator and technical expert behind "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
Entertainment Weekly and CBS will jointly celebrate all things pop culture — including the fans — at their "fandemonium" event on Thursday, July 22. The party will bring together stars from CBS's primetime line-up, EW.com bloggers Michael Ausiello and Jeff "Doc" Jensen, as well as fans attending the convention for an evening of fun, food, drinks and a live Q&A moderated by Entertainment Weekly Managing Editor, Jess Cagle.
At the CBS Booth (#4129), a fun mix of CBS and SHOWTIME talent and producers will sign autographs. Among many giveaways and contests is the chance to win a vacation getaway to the filming location of "Hawaii Five-0" on the island of Oahu. The cast will be on hand exclusively to sign free, specially-produced Comic-Con/"Hawaii Five-0" collectors' posters.
Since no one would savor Comic-Con more than the brilliant and quirky characters on the phenomenally popular CBS comedy series, "The Big Bang Theory," it's more than fitting that, in conjunction with Warner Bros. Television, the celebrated series' cast will interact with fans at the CBS booth, the Warner Bros. booth (#4545) and the CBS/Entertainment Weekly "fandemonium" party. On Friday, July 23, the cast will participate in Warner Bros. Television's "The Big Bang Theory" panel (12:45 to 1:45 PM in Ballroom 20).
Those who cannot physically attend Comic-Con can follow the extensive on-site video and text coverage on CBS Interactive's TV.com and Gamespot.com.
Additional details about the panels:

IDW Launches Literary Mash-Ups with
Limited Joe R. Lansdale Novella
Full Classics Mutilated collection coming in October
[Dread Island cover]San Diego, CA (July 15, 2010) – IDW Publishing is proud to announce CLASSICS MUTILATED, an all-new prose collection of genre mash-up stories by top-tier authors, coming in October. At San Diego Comic-Con, IDW will debut the original novella “Dread Island” by noted horror and crime writer Joe R. Lansdale, as an exclusive preview of the upcoming collection. Lansdale will be featured at special autograph sessions at the IDW booth #2643 throughout the convention.
CLASSICS MUTILATED offers a different take on the current monster-lit trend by challenging a coterie of major talents to twist fantasy and horror elements with classic tales and icons, creating all-new stories. Lansdale’s “Dread Island” showcases the collection’s unique tone by featuring Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer in a new adventure, with bizarre fantasy and supernatural elements out of both H. P. Lovecraft and Uncle Remus.
“I wrote ‘Dread Island’ based on my love for Mark Twain,” reveals Lansdale, “which collided with my interest in Lovecraft, and the fact that the Uncle Remus tales may have been the first stories I ever read. And then there were comics. I always saw ‘Dread Island’ as a kind of comic book in prose, the old Classics Illustrated look. That's how it played out in my head.”
Available in October, the full CLASSICS MUTILATED collection will feature fifteen stories from writers such as Nancy Collins, John Shirley, Thomas Tessier, Kristine Katheryn Rusch, Chris Ryall, Rick Hautala, John Skipp and Cody Goodfellow. The collection will also feature a painted, wrap around cover by Menton Matthews III.
To promote the upcoming CLASSICS MUTILATED, "Dread Island" will be available in four different editions, beginning with the trade paperback version, limited to 500 copies and available only at conventions. After SDCC, IDW will offer a 400-copy signed hardcover edition and a 100-copy signed and numbered leatherbound edition exclusively through the company’s website. A fourth, “retailer only” configuration will be available to Diamond accounts for an October release, alongside CLASSICS MUTILATED.
“CLASSICS MUTILATED is our take on this so-called Monster- Lit trend,” explains Jeff Conner, the collection’s editor. “Rather than foisting zombies and the like onto beloved literary classics or unsuspecting historic figures, we’re approaching the concept from the other end, challenging an unholy cabal of fantasy and horror writers to use their dark arts on genre-blending. The results have been remarkable, as lucky readers of Lansdale’s ‘Dread Island’ preview edition will get to see.”
Dread Island ($15, 86 pages, trade paperback, prose) will be available from IDW at San Diego Comic Con.
Dread Island ($35, 86 pages, hardcover, signed, prose) will be available from IDW Publishing in August.
Dread Island ($100, 86 pages, hardcover, signed and numbered, prose) will be available from IDW Publishing in August.
Dread Island ($24.99, 86 pages, hardcover, signed, prose) will be available in stores in October.
Classics Mutilated ($16.99, 320 pages, paperback, prose) will be available in stores in October. ISBN 978-160010830-3

DarkBrain, LLC Seeks to Change the Face of Webcomics
Warwick, RI, July 15, 2010: DarkBrain, LLC, an innovative new webcomics publisher, released today Cortex #3. The company, which is founded and run by Andrew Zar, opened its virtual doors on February 6, 2010. Producing 12 original series of comics, each has graphic novel quality art and a great story - but also includes voice-over narration, original music, and user choices and preferences that change the story itself. In addition to the monthly online magazine, DarkBrain also features four regular ongoing comic stories with new pages every Friday.
Cortex, an online magazine featuring full length comic stories, debuted in April with a free inaugural issue comprised of two full length stories and a series of short strips. In June, DarkBrain offered Cortex #2 at the cost of $4.99. July’s issue showcases two full-length stories including the pirate adventure “The Vat Vol. 2,” illustrated by Marvel and DC veteran Ernie Chan. In this issue readers learn more about the mysterious genie who appeared in Volume 1 and the history of Brainstorm’s captive, Velouria. Joining “The Vat Vol. 2,” Cortex #3 also features dramatic new art talent Renato Camilo illustrating The Butcher #1 "Reckoning." The Butcher is a brutal tale set in 230 BC and covers the expansion of Rome interests in Cisalpine Gaul. Rounding out the magazine is a short comic called Grace Comes Home #1 "Arrival" where Grace makes a dramatic return to Earth, seven years after her abduction. She is a little "different" now, and is also being hunted by a fire-spewing alien. Readers at DarkBrain can purchase Cortex #3 for $4.99 or get a magazine "six pack" that will include over 300 pages of art, voice and music for only $24.95.
DarkBrain produces edgy content designed specifically for PG-13 and R+-rated audiences, yet with a unique feature. The site utilizes a state of the art preferences system where readers control how intense they wish their viewing experience to be. DarkBrain.com was established to be a pro-artist studio, with artists both being paid for work up front in addition to receiving royalties. 50% of all sales go back to the artists. The business model is designed to break down the barrier of entry for independent comic authors and to have artists participate in growth right from the start.
SJS Comic Promotions is owned and operated by Promotions Consultant, Susan Soares. TRION WORLDS AND WILDSTORM PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCE
RIFT: PLANES OF TELARA™ AND END OF NATIONS™
COMIC BOOKS
Complimentary “Issue Zero” Prequel Issues to be Distributed at the DC Comics Booth During Comic-Con International in San Diego
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – July 15, 2010 – Trion Worlds, Inc. and DC Comics/WildStorm Productions welcome comic fans to a pair of war-ravaged worlds with two miniseries based on the upcoming massively multiplayer online games, Rift: Planes of Telara™ and End of Nations™. Diving deep into the lore behind the games in four monthly issues beginning this fall, the comics will explore the events and characters that will shape the main storylines of each game.
The special limited edition “Issue Zero” comics can only be found at the DC Comics booth during Comic-Con International, held in San Diego July 21-25. First issues of both series are scheduled to hit store shelves this fall, while the games will debut in 2011.
“Graphic novels are the perfect medium for exposing the deeper facets of these intricate worlds,” said Scott Hartsman, chief creative officer, Trion Worlds. “We’ve created two universes, each with its own rich history. Every character, faction, and locale has a tale to tell, and with the help of WildStorm’s talented team, we can relate those stories in a truly meaningful way.”
Written by Ricardo Sanchez (Resident Evil, Aion, Nier), Telara Chronicles features interior art by Pop Mhan (World of Warcraft, Batgirl, Bionicle) and cover art by Drew Johnson (Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Fantastic Four). Sanchez also assumes writing duties for End of Nations, with cover art by Chris Sprouse (Batman, Human Target, Deathblow) and interior art by Yvel Guichet (Aquaman, Harley Quinn, JLA).
Both the massively multiplayer online game, Rift: Planes of Telara, and the comic, Telara Chronicles, are set in a world torn asunder by elemental rifts that unleash powerful planar forces, threatening Telara's very existence. Amid spreading darkness and mayhem, two factions – the Guardians and the Defiant – battle to understand and perhaps control the awesome power surging through these tears in the fabric of reality. The WildStorm series follows the story of Asha Catari, a plane-touched warrior with magical abilities, as she ventures in search of answers and adventure.
End of Nations gives readers a possible glimpse into everyday life after a worldwide economic collapse in the not-too-distant future. The Order of Nations, a totalitarian global regime, has assumed control of every world government, bringing peace and stability at the cost of personal freedom. The comic tells the story of a group of resistance fighters who are determined to bring the fight directly to the Order of Nations and end its stifling reign for good.

GANGSTERS, VAMPIRES, ALIENS, OH MY!
TURF #2 sold out at distribution level; Image Comics takes it to press again
Berkeley, CA - 14 July 2010 - Jonathan Ross and Tommy Lee Edwards' TURF -- a Prohibition-era tale of vampires, gangsters, and aliens -- is a certified hit with the sell out of issue #2! Image Comics is reprinting the issue, and it will be available on July 21, 2010.
"We're just knocked out by the response the first two issues have gotten,” exclaims Ross. “To get so much positive feedback and to sell out again is totally rad, as they used to say in the eighties. Turf three is just around the corner and the ride gets even bumpier, so stick around!”
"Creating TURF with Jonathan has been one of the most time-consuming yet rewarding experiences of my career,” adds Edwards. “I'm glad to see how much the readers are appreciating our hard work and that they enjoy seeing TURF's story-lines converge to become even more exciting, scary, funny and challenging."
TURF: New York, 1929. The height of Prohibition. The cops turn a blind eye while the mobs run the city, dealing in guns, girls and illegal liquor. But the arrival of the mysterious Dragonmir Family from Eastern Europe with more of a taste for blood then booze coincides with a series of brutal attacks on the gangsters themselves. As the gangs fall before the fangs, only a handful of mobsters survive. But an unlikely alliance formed between tough guy Eddie Falco and a character from a LONG way from New York City -- a long way from Earth in fact -- offers the humans a glimmer of hope. As the strong willed young reporter Susie Dale from the Gotham Herald tries to survive in the middle of the maelstrom and an ancient prophecy unfolds, no one can guess who's going to win the battle for this particular slice of Turf.
TURF #2 Second Printing (MAY108162), a 32-page full color comic book for $2.99, will be in stores July 21, 2010.
Ross and Edwards will be joining Image Comics at Comic-Con International 2010 in San Diego on Thursday, July 22, and Friday, July 23, for a pair of exclusive signings from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. both days (booth #2729). Don't miss your chance to pick up a signed convention exclusive of sold out issue #1!

He worked as an investigator/interviewer, went on a mission to war-torn Biafra (now Nigeria), and ran a maximum-security prison for "aggressive-violent" youth. For the past twenty-five years, he has been an attorney in private practice, representing child and youth exclusively. Perhaps most well-known for his best-selling crime-fiction novels, Vachss also serves on the Advisory Board of the National Association to Protect Children, and consults widely in his area of expertise, including international presentations.
Frank Caruso has spent his adult life communicating through art. He's illustrated children's books for St. Martin's Press, served as Executive Producer for American Public Television's Emmy award-winning "SeeMore's Playhouse," and is best known for his work on properties like Popeye and Betty Boop, as the Vice President of Creative Services for King Features Syndicate. Caruso has worked with Scholastic's Alliance for Young Artists and Writers and is a member of New York's Society of Illustrators.
Now the two are collaborating on *Heart Transplant*, a book that uses images and words to tell a story--a story that is meant to change the way we think about, talk about, and *deal with* the issue of bullying. Dr. Joel A. Dvoskin, Assistant Clinical Professor at the Univeristy of Arizona Medical School and President of the American Psychological Association's Law Society division, says of *Heart Tranplant*, "[T]his gripping story gives kids and grownups alike a road map to change, both for individual kids and more importantly, for the school as a community. ... This book should be required reading in every elementary school in America[.]"
Dr. Dvoskin's sentiments are echoed by Dr. Bruce D. Perry, Senior Fellow at the ChildTrauma Academy and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine: "Teachers and parents will find that *Heart Transplant* can be the perfect lens to focus meaningful dialogue about the origins of bullying and the pervasive nature of the exploitation of power in our society. The scope of important, inter-related themes that this work highlights is broad--so this can be a tool for a classroom to be used for much more than merely addressing bullying."
*Heart Transplant*is anchored by an essay from Zak Mucha, LCSW, to help readers of all ages understand the important lessons contained within. This is the story of not only one child’s personal experience with feelings of alienation and torment at the hands of his peers, but a young boy's transformation from bullied "outsider" to *true* manhood. This thought-provoking work speaks directly to bullied children and their parents, providing not only the basis for discussion, but a viable solution.
Personally edited by Dark Horse Founder and President Mike Richardson, Heart Transplant--a 100-page hardcover--arrives in stores in October.

TELEVISION ICONS SID & MARTY KROFFT, JOE RUBY and KEN SPEARS TO HEADLINE EXCLUSIVE PANEL ON NEW PARTNERSHIP
REPRESENTING THE WORKS OF JACK KIRBY
SATURDAY, JULY 24 ONLY AT COMIC-CON SAN DIEGO
(Los Angeles, CA) -- Sid and Marty Krofft changed Saturday mornings forever when the sibling puppeteers unleashed colorful characters like H.R. Pufnstuf and The Bugaloos on a generation of sugary-cereal-fueled kids growing up in the 1970s and ’80s. They will debut a brand new compilation DVD this fall, the first release in their exclusive new partnership with Vivendi Entertainment. As this upcoming release will celebrate the Kroffts’ past, the brothers are looking to the future with a new partnership with Ruby-Spears Productions, the legendary animation studio responsible for Scooby Doo. They are working together to bring to life numerous illustrations that iconic comic book artist Jack Kirby created for Ruby-Spears Productions in the ’80s.
Dave Itzkoff of The New York Times writes: "The characteristics of a Jack Kirby illustration are easily distinguished: extravagantly costumed heroes and nefarious villains locked in titanic struggles; foreshortened fists, feet and muscles that seem to pop off the page; intricately detailed settings meant to conjure the ancient past or suggest the distant future." The Krofft brothers will appear for the first time together with Joe Ruby and Ken Spears at Comic-Con 2010 for an exclusive panel discussion called Behind the Scenes with Sid & Marty Krofft, Joe Ruby and Ken Spears: A Look at the Past, Present and Future. Join them for a look back at what they have achieved and then take a look to the future with their new partnership in Creations from the World of Jack Kirby. The panel will be moderated by producer Bonny Dore.
WHO: Sid & Marty Krofft, Joe Ruby, Ken Spears
WHAT: An exclusive panel and Q & A (moderated by Bonny Dore)

CASSIE HACK'S BIG FAN
October's HACK/SLASH annual bridges the gap to new ongoing series
Berkeley, CA - 13 July 2010 - In October, Cassie Hack will face off against her biggest fan in HACK/SLASH ANNUAL 2010: MURDER MESSIAH. Written by Tim Seeley, with art by Jethro Moralles, MURDER MESSIAH connects the events of the previous Devil's Due series with the new ongoing HACK/SLASH series that will launch from Image Comics in January 2011.
"When we started off at Image, I wanted to give everyone a fresh starting point," says series creator Tim Seeley. "So, we did Hack/Slash: My First Maniac. But my intent was always to continue with the further adventures of Cassie and Vlad, and this annual will set up a great new status quo for the ongoing series!"
HACK/SLASH ANNUAL 2010: MURDER MESSIAH is the story that links the DDP series to the new Image Comics ongoing. Cassie's biggest "fan" -- a serial killer -- is on a spree, cleaning up her loose ends. That means no foe or friend is safe. Meanwhile, 14 years in the future, in an America ruled by the Black Lamp Society, street-witch Liberty Lochs is on a desperate quest to find Six Sixx's guitar...
HACK/SLASH ANNUAL 2010: MURDER MESSIAH, a 48-page full-color comic book for $5.99, will be available October 13, 2010. HACK/SLASH MY FIRST MANIAC #1 (of 4) Second Printing (MAY108016) and HACK/SLASH MY FIRST MANIAC #2 (of 4) (MAY100478/MAY100479), both 32-page full-color comic books for $3.50, are available now.
