in less than 5 days from initial release
March 23rd 2012 - New York, NY - Today comiXology announced the availability of over 1,000 CMX-HD upgraded comics and graphic novels available for the new iPad. That’s less than five days since the initial release of one hundred CMX-HD comics this past Monday in conjunction with delivery of the new iPad. The offering of 1,000 CMX-HD comics and graphic novels is over a tenfold increase in the initial amount available – at no extra cost to comiXology customers.
ComiXology released it's 3.1 iOS update with the debut of the CMX-HD format this past Monday; meeting the challenge of the new iPad's resolution with a brand new digital comics format. CMX-HD formatted comics and graphic novels are offered at no additional upgrade cost to comiXology customers who have previously purchased content and with no price increase for new purchases that are made available in CMX-HD.
Previous to this week's iOS update — which also included new sharing features with Facebook, Twitter and Email integration — comiXology, the world’s largest digital comics platform available on iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle Fire and the Web, was most recently in the news when the company announced that they had crested over 50 million comic and graphic novel downloads to date.

Telltale today released the third episode of Playing Dead at the official website for their game, The Walking Dead. Playing Dead is Telltale’s talk-show format developer diary designed to let gamers know what they can expect from the upcoming game based on Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic books.
In this episode of Playing Dead, host AJ LoCascio is joined by very special guest Robert Kirkman, the Eisner Award-winning creator/writer of The Walking Dead. Kirkman, who runs his own Skybound imprint at Image  Comics, where he's a partner, talks about why the game isn’t based on Rick Grimes, why it’s not an open-world shooter, why player choice and decision making is a big deal and why he chose Telltale to make a game based on The Walking Dead.
The episode also features the very first extended look at the game’s Adventure Horror game-play.
In addition to Playing Dead episode 3, Telltale has also posted the second of a series of video format Q&A sessions on the games’ official website (answers come from Lead Designer Sean Vanaman and Designer Harrison Pink). Gamers are encouraged to ask more questions for future Q+A sessions by emailing playingdead@telltalegames.com or by leaving a message at (707) 701 DEAD.
The Walking Dead is a 5 part episodic game series coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, PC, Mac and other leading platforms. The first episode will be available for download in late April.
