Award-winning music talents Nathan Barr, Ramin Djawadi, Robert Duncan, Danny Jacob, James Levine, Edward Rogers, and Christopher Young to speak to fans at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront as part of Comic Con 2011

San Diego, CA (July 15, 2011) – Back by popular demand, the second annual Behind the Music with CW3PR: Composing Horror to Animation and Everything in Between will be held at Comic-Con International: San Diego.

Seven legendary composers in film and television are slated to speak for the program from 6 to 7 pm on Saturday, July 23 in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront, 1 Park Blvd.

Together, Nathan Barr (HBO’s “True Blood”), Ramin Djawadi (HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” Paramount Pictures' “Iron Man”), Robert Duncan (ABC’s “Castle,” WB’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Danny Jacob (Disney Channel’s “Phineas and Ferb”), James Levine (FOX’s “Glee,” TNT’s “The Closer”), Edward Rogers (Syfy’s “Warehouse 13”), and Christopher Young (Columbia Pictures' “Spider-Man 3,” New World Pictures’ “Hellraiser”) will discuss their pivotal roles in some of today’s top film and TV projects.

This year’s panel will focus on the different creative processes required for composing music in a wide variety of genres and platforms. Panelists will also discuss expanding music to ancillary projects such as motion comics, video games and more that boost some of Hollywood’s largest growing franchises.

Attendees will receive exclusive giveaways and be the first to view (and hear) some surprise sneak peeks from upcoming projects. A fan-led Q&A will follow.

The panel will be moderated by film and television composer Hélène Muddiman.

About The Panelists

Nathan Barr can currently be heard on one of HBO’s hottest shows TRUE BLOOD. Having written and performed the music for all four seasons of this show, he has come a long way since working as an assistant to world-renowned composer Hans Zimmer. Barr has since composed original music for film and television. Film credits include: IFC Films' THE LEDGE, Lionsgate’s THE LAST EXORCISM, and Stonebrook Entertainment’s OPEN HOUSE.

Ramin Djawadi received a Grammy nomination for Paramount Pictures’ IRON MAN, as well as Emmy nominations for ABC’s FLASHFORWARDfor “Outstanding Music Composition For A Series,” and FOX’s PRISON BREAK for “Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music." He recently completed MGM’s RED DAWN, and is also working on Zoom Entertainment and Silver Screen Studios’ THE CAMEL WARS and DreamWorks’ FRIGHT NIGHT. He has collaborated with Hans Zimmer, co-composing and producing the score for Universal Pictures’ THUNDERBIRDS, as well as collaborating on both Columbia Pictures’ SOMETHING’S GOTTA GIVE and Warner Bros. Pictures’ BATMAN BEGINS.

Robert Duncan is a Canadian composer of film and TV, currently scoring music for ABC’s CASTLE, for which he was nominated for an Emmy. Other credits include: Foundation Feature’s THE ENTITLED; FOX’s THE CHICAGO CODE; FX’s TERRIERS; ABC’s THE GATES; FOX’s LIE TO ME; CBS’ THE UNIT; the WB’s BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER; and FOX’s TRU CALLING.

Danny Jacob is a three-time Emmy-nominated composer and producer of more than 300 original songs for the Disney Channel’s mega-hit animated series, PHINEAS AND FERB. Influenced by his life-long experience as a world-class guitar player, Jacob bridges the worlds of score and song. As a featured guitarist, he has performed on DreamWorks’ SHREK, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Picture; the Emmy-winning BETTE MIDDLER HBO CONCERT DIVA LAS VEGAS; and Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin’s “Heaven Help Us,” which won the Grammy for Best Duet. Other credits include: Disney’s LILO AND STITCH, Disney Channel’s THE EMPEROR’S NEW SCHOOL, and Kids’ WB’s JACKIE CHAN’S ADVENTURES.

Levine has also provided additional music for DreamWorks’ MADAGASCAR and Touchstone Pictures’ PEARL HARBOR.

Edward Rogers is an Emmy-nominated composer for film, television and videogames. Prior to scoring original music for the Syfy network’s hit series, WAREHOUSE 13, for which he received an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music,” Rogers also brought the gritty streets of New York to life with his underscore for ABC’s award-winning series, NYPD BLUE, for six years. He continued his collaboration with producer Steven Bochco on FX’s acclaimed series, OVER THERE.

Christopher Young is one of the foremost talents in film music today. A Golden Globe-nominated composer, he has scored an impressive number of features in virtually every genre, all with strikingly original music. New World Pictures’ spine-tingling HELLRAISER showcases the composer’s seminal upbringing in horror; the new-techno sound of Warner Bros.’ SWORDFISH displays his versatility; the resonant, genuine Celtic sounds of Miramax Films THE SHIPPING NEWS display his attention to detail; and the heart-pounding rhythms of Columbia Pictures’ SPIDER-MAN 3 are all evidence of his willingness to experiment. These scores are among the nearly 100 films that embody the work of this prolific composer.

Hélène Muddiman (Moderator) is a British film and television composer who recently scored ITV2’s THE ONLY WAY IS ESSEX, a British award-winning reality show based in Essex, Southeast England. Muddiman is currently composing original music for Warner Bros.’ HAPPY FEET 2 with composer John Powell who scored for Shrek and Happy Feet. MMA K-O!
Blair Butler and Kevin Mellon Team Up to Show Fans Heart

Berkeley, CA -- 15 July 2011 -- G4tv's Blair Butler announced yesterday that she's making her professional comics writing debut at Image Comics this November, with a four-issue miniseries called HEART. Featuring art by LOVESTRUCK artist Kevin Mellon with lettering and design by Crank!, HEART combines Butler's love of both comics and mixed martial arts for a story that's both full of action and emotionally gripping.

"I think it's safe to say that writing this book was hugely intimidating. It's scary to think that you might fail horribly at something you love!" exclaimed Butler. "But this is a story I've been dying to tell. I know it's set in a world that may seem esoteric or overwhelmingly brutal to a lot of people, but I hope both comics and MMA fans will find a lot to relate to inside. HEART is about the initial rush of joy that comes with discovering something you love, finding a purpose, and what happens when you reach your threshold and have to question your own heart and dedication."

HEART chronicles the struggles and victories of a spirited young fighter named Oren as he forges ahead through a difficult, frequently painful career path. Even though Mellon is illustrating pages chock-full of fight scenes, he has described the story of HEART as like nothing else in comics right now.

"Before I had even read the script, I wondered how one could do a comic book taking place in the mixed martial arts world," explained Mellon. "But I have to admit, I was intrigued by Blair's notion of going deeper and doing a more emotive story about a person's inner journey that happens to be set in that world."

Mellon continued: "I was immediately taken aback by how much I related to the voice and the character of Oren. There are a lot of cool (and complicated!) fight scenes in this book, but I was amazed at Blair's ability to choreograph a wealth of character, as well as punches, into them."

"I've been incredibly lucky to work with artist Kevin on this," Butler added. "The first page he sent in just looked incredible -- and he's been consistently kicking ass ever since. So if you're down for dudes punching each other in the face -- please give us a shot!"

"Blair and I first started talking about HEART at Comic-Con last year, and I'm thrilled that readers will finally be able to read the wonderful story that's been percolating in her mind over the last year," said Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson. "Her passion for the material is undeniable, and in Kevin, she's found the perfect artist to bring that passion to life on the page. Get ready for a really special series!"

HEART #1, a 32-page black and white comic book, will be available to order in the September issue of Previews, and goes on sale in stores in November for $2.99.

Characters Welcome.
WITCH DOCTORÕS BRANDON SEIFERT AND LUCAS KETNER

AT SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON

WHO: Brandon Seifert and Lukas Ketner are the high-octane duo behind the brand new horror comic Witch Doctor, the first original on Robert Kirkman's Image Comics imprint, SKYBOUND. The first issue of Witch Doctor completely sold out, an amazing feat for the relative newcomers, and they're thrilled to meet the fans that bought them at Comic Con.

The pair of Alaskans are currently based in Oregon, the home base of their 'hero' Dr. Vincent Morrrow. In 2009, Lukas Ketner received a nomination for the Russ Manning Award, given to outstanding newcomers in the field of comic art. The Beat Magazine stated Ketner is Òa fast rising star in the world of illustration.Ó Seifert and Ketner have also worked on the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, and are collaborating on an issue of the Escape From Alcatraz educational comic book series published by the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, focusing on the notorious 1946 Battle of Alcatraz.

ÒBrandon SeifertÕs story is strong and confident, inviting readers to settle in for an appointment of world-building and character-defining. Seifert delivers the requisite comic book magic mumbo-jumbo and comic science fiction, but the accompanying art by Lukas Ketner makes it all seem new and bold... This is a straight-forward magical story that appears to be done in one, but leaves plenty of reason for the character, the creative team, and especially the reader to come back for moreÉÓ – Doug Zawisza, Comic Book Resources

Episode 7 – Can We Travel Faster Than Light?

It's called the speed limit of the universe. Einstein blew all of our minds when he worked out the Theory of Relativity, and showed that space and time were malleable substances. He also theorized that we as humans can never travel faster than the speed of light, which leaves the stars and other galaxies almost impossibly out of our reach. But the dreams of Star Wars and Star Trek are not dead. In fact, there could be ways to travel faster than the speed of light—and some of them are already being tested in labs around the world.

IDW Announces H.P. Lovecraft Adaptation
Comic Series

New miniseries based on Lovecraft’s The Dunwich Horror

Joe Lansdale brings the horror classic to the 21st Century

[Lovecraft Cover]San Diego, CA (July 15, 2011)—In anticipation of Comic-Con International: San Diego 2011, IDW Publishing today announced H.P. LOVECRAFT’S THE DUNWICH HORROR, a comic series with a modern take on Lovecraft’s timeless short story of terror The Dunwich Horror. Starting in October, author Joe R. Lansdale and artist Peter Bergting bring to the 21st century audience classic horrors that influenced many prominent authors, most notably Stephen King, who cites Lovecraft as the largest influence on his own writing.

“It’s flattering to be working on a Lovecraft project, one of the most influential horror writers of all time,” said Lansdale, a seven-time Bram Stoker Award winner.

Originally published in the April 1929 issue of Weird Tales, and set in Dunwich, Massachusets, The Dunwich Horror depicts an eerie story of Wilbur Whateley, a sorcerer’s grandson and his search for the Necronomicon, a magical textbook said to hold the powers to open the way for the return of the “Old Ones” to Earth.

“Like many before me, H.P. Lovecraft’s stories have had a great impact on my notion of what fiction can be,” said editor Denton J. Tipton. “Helping to bring Lovecraft’s work to a new generation of readers is a great honor, as is working with Joe and Peter. The legacy couldn’t be in better hands.”

Each of the four issues in the H.P. LOVECRAFT’S THE DUNWICH HORROR miniseries will also offer an adaptation of Lovecraft’s short story The Hound, by noted Lovecraft historian Robert Weinberg and artist menton3. First published in the February 1924 issue of Weird Tales, The Hound tells the cryptic tale of two grave robbers, who take their private collection too far when they dig up the grave of one of their own.

“Lovecraft's story ‘The Hound’ is horror at its most intense,” said Weinberg. “The climax of the story is one you won't forget!”

Readers are encouraged to ask their retailer about the variant Nick Percival covers and The Dunwich Horror prose chapbooks for each issue. Each chapbook will feature a portion of the original The Dunwich Horror prose; readers collection all four chapbooks will come away with the prose for The Dunwich Horror and The Hound.

Also coming in October from IDW Publishing, THE LOVECRAFT LIBRARY, VOL 1: HORROR OUT OF ARKHAM features terrifying tales by H.P. Lovecraft, including Herbert West—Reanimator, The Unnamable, The Colour Out of Space, The Dunwich Horror, and The Shadow Over Innsmouth. With art by Menton3 and an introduction by Robert Weinberg, this is one book that horror fans can’t do without!

H.P. LOVECRAFT: THE DUNWICH HORROR #1 (of 4) ($3.99, 32 pages, full color) will be available in stores in October 2011.

THE LOVECRAFT LIBRARY, VOLUME 1: HORROR OUT OF ARKHAM ($16.99, 232 pages, full color, hardcover) will be available in stores in October 2011.

Among Wheatley's latest projects, Skultar, has just been announced to start in Dark Horse Presents #7. Written by M.J. Butler, Skultar is a loving (but none-too-kind) send-up of barbarian stories. The Spider: Satan's Murder Machines collects Norvell Page's epic crime drama in a deluxe hardcover for the first time with a cover by Wheatley, and The Mark Wheatley Gallery collects a number of the artist's 2010 13" x 19" art prints in book form for the first time.

Blood of the Innocent, which pits Jack the Ripper against Dracula, is presently being adapted for film through Inferno Entertainment. The script by Bill Marsilii is complete and Inferno is fielding offers from additional studios seeking to turn the already-funded film into a blockbuster.

"Everyone at Insight looks forward to the Baltimore Comic Con each year," Wheatley said. "This show strikes an amazing balance between big convention thrills and a friendly, comfortable atmosphere where you can actually spend time with your friends and meet industry stars. And the Harvey Awards is one of the most entertaining awards ceremonies I ever attend!"

Breathtaker, Mars, and Blood of the Innocent collaborator, writer-artist Marc Hempel, will also be on hand. In addition to his acclaimed work on "The Kindly Ones" story arc for DC's Sandman with Neil Gaiman, Hempel also created Tug & Buster, Gregory, and the online strip Marc Hempel's Naked Brain. His work is also appearing in MAD.

Also attending the Baltimore Comic-Con as he takes a break from a series of films in production and in development, writer-producer-director Robert Tinnell has the graphic novel Flesh & Blood on the way with artist Neil Vokes. The creator behind The Wicked West, The Black Forest, Sight Unseen, The Faceless: A Terry Sharpe Story, The Living and The Dead, Demons of Sherwood, and Feast of the Seven Fishes, he directed such features as Kids of the Round Table, Frankenstein and Me, and Believe. Tinnell also produced the cult classic Surf Nazis Must Die, and he was one of the segment directors for the just-released DVD Edgar Allen Poe's Requiem For The Damned.

Mike Gold, who will also be at the Insight Studios booth at the show, has been the Editor-in-Chief of ComicMix, director of editorial development and a group editor at DC Comics, and editor-in-chief of First Comics, which he helped start. Along the way, he's worked with such notables as Mike Grell, Howard Chaykin, John Ostrander, Del Close, Tim Truman, Joe Staton, Trevor Von Eden, Bo Hampton, Mark Wheatley, Marc Hempel, and many others on properties such as Green Arrow, The Question, Jon Sable, Freelance, American Flagg!, GrimJack, Starslayer, E-Man, and others.

"The Baltimore show is pure comics, run by people whose love for comics is obvious. It's the way great conventions used to be run, and it's one of the very few I truly enjoy and actually look forward to. And it's the only show where I care about the convention even more than I care about the local food!" Gold said.

"That's because Mike would prefer to eat barbeque rather than crabs!" Wheatley added.

Insight Studios Group, is producer of numerous award-winning comic books, graphic novels, portfolios and other publications including The Mark Wheatley Gallery, The Spider: Burning Lead for the Walking Dead!, The Elemental Art of Dale Rogers, IS Art - The Art of Insight Studios, Hammer of the Gods, Titanic Tales, Jimgrim and the Devil at Ludd, Frank Cho Illustrator, Gray Morrow Visionary, Al Williamson ADVENTURES, Frankenstein Mobster, Miles the Monster, MARS, Marc Hempel's Naked Brain, Breathtaker, and many more.

Upgrade To Real Vampires with IDW at Comic-con

Exclusive “Sparkles for Blood” promotion offers fans
free copies of 30 Days of Night graphic novels

[Sparkles for Blood Image]San Diego, CA (July 14, 2011)—IDW Publishing is daring fans to switch to a vampire franchise with some teeth! This year at San Diego Comic-Con, in an unprecedented promotion, fans can turn in any copy of a Twilight book or graphic novel at the IDW booth #2643 for a free copy of a 30 DAYS OF NIGHT graphic novel! IDW is vowing to help vampire fans get back on track with the undead the way they were always meant to be: bloody and terrifying.

“Real horror fans have watched vampires systematically turned into wimpy fodder for years now. It’s time to fight back” said Niles. “I’m happy to be working with IDW on the Sparkles for Blood event. Hopefully, working together we can put an end to this nightmare.”

IDW’s exclusive “Sparkles for Blood” outreach program is designed to help all fans of the undead get what they really want – bloody, vampire horror. Sprung from the twisted minds of Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith in 2002, 30 Days of Night graphic novels and major motion pictures offer vampires as the feral, animalistic creatures that stalked humans under cover of night that they really are.

“Recently, vampires in pop culture have started to swing back to the romanticized vamps of other literature and films before 30 Days of Night,” said IDW chief creative officer, Chris Ryall. “In some cases, they’re even being treated more as chaste immortal teenagers than as the murderous creatures that they are. ‘Sparkles for Blood’ will remind everyone that vampires are creatures of the night, not of the twilight.”

As part of the book-swap being offered to fans at Comic-Con, everyone who receives a 30 Days of Night graphic novel in trade for their sparkly novel will also receive information about the coming 30 Days of Night ongoing series. Written by 30 Days co-creator Steve Niles, with art by acclaimed artist Sam Kieth, this first-ever ongoing 30 Days of Night series kicks off very appropriately in October.

“We may need a forklift at the end of the show, for all the Twilight books,” says Dirk Wood, IDW’s director of retail marketing. “But it will be worth it. It’s time to start scaring people again.”

Every lapsed 30 Days of Night fan and sparkly vampire purveyor is invited to the IDW Publishing booth #2643 at Comic-Con to get back on the straight and bloody path. Steve Niles will be in attendance and signing at the IDW booth every day.

Suggested Wood, “Come swap out your Twilight books and get a needed blood transfusion in your reading habit.”

Immortality Takes a Dark Turn in IDW’s MONOCYTE

Original comic series from menton3 and Kasra

“A fantastic new addition … beautiful artwork” – Ashley Wood

[Monocyte Cover]San Diego, CA (July 14, 2011) – Adding to the growing excitement for San Diego Comic-Con, IDW Publishing today announced MONOCYTE, an all-new four-issue comic series launching in October. Written by breakthrough artist menton3 with Kasra Ghanbari, with art and covers by menton3 (Zombies vs Robots Aventure, Silent Hill: Past Life), MONOCYTE brings readers to a scarred world where time has no meaning, ruled by two warring immortal races.

“I had the wonderful opportunity to work with menton3 on IDW’s Silent Hill: Past Life miniseries,” said IDW senior staff writer and editor, Tom Waltz. “His work on that book was phenomenal and I knew all along he was destined to be a mega-star in this industry. MONOCYTE proves I was right!”

MONOCYTE #1, available in October, tells the tale of two warring immortal races who rule a scarred world absent of duration. Death sits impotent, quietly planning his restoration. He summons Monocyte, a forgotten immortal necromancer who long ago chose sleep in his failed quest to die. With a fatal pact sealed, Monoctye strikes out as Death’s vicious proxy. MONOCYTE is an action-adventure in a hyperrealistic fantasy setting with occult undertones, filled with visually dazzling characters, environments, and dynamic fight scenes all imbued with magical, occult, political, philosophical, social, and technological themes.

Readers can get a taste of the MONOCYTE horror through a free digital preview, available from IDW this summer. In addition to the two issue #1 covers by menton3, readers are encouraged to ask their local retailer about the variant Ashley Wood cover. Future issues of MONOCYTE will feature variant covers by such luminaries as Bill Sienkiewicz.

Ashley Wood praised MONOCYTE as “a fantastic new addition to the sci-fi/fantasy genre. Filled with menton3's beautiful artwork, Monocyte combines cerebral complexity and entertainment in one damn fine package.”

MONOCYTE #1 (of 4, $3.99, 32 pages, full color) will be available in comic stores in October 2011.

The HPA Launches Imagine Better
New organization will bring together fan communities for social change

Boston, MA – Today, the Harry Potter Alliance (HPA) launched Imagine Better, an organization that will bring together fan communities from across the spectrum of movies, music, television shows, games, and books in an unprecedented network harnessing popular culture for social change. Following the model of the HPA, Imagine Better will work to tackle real world issues using parallels from each individual fan community.

“As the Harry Potter phenomenon enters a new chapter, Imagine Better is a natural progression,” said HPA Executive Director Andrew Slack. “It allows fans to come together through the passion they feel for stories as a starting point for changing individuals and communities across the world.”

Imagine Better will initially include partnerships with the Vlogbrothers and Nerdfighteria, prominent YouTubers Dan Brown and Shawn Ahmed, various best-selling young adult authors, and websites from over twenty fan communities.

The first official campaign of Imagine Better is the Imagine Better contest, also a part of the HPA’s Deathly Hallows Campaign. As a part of the Climate Crisis Horcrux, the last Horcrux in the Deathly Hallows Campaign, the HPA, in partnership with Splashlife, is running two contests. One contest asks for artwork and the other for ideas for how to defeat the Climate Crisis.

The advisory board for the contest includes leaders in social media, the environmental movement, and entertainment, including actors Jason Alexander (George in Seinfeld), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter), and Anthony Stewart Head (Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

The initial blueprint for Imagine Better has been hailed by the University of Southern California’s Annenberg as the premier model for civic engagement in the twenty-first century. For the time being, Imagine Better will exist as a part of the Harry Potter Alliance. Over time, Imagine Better will develop into its own non-profit organization that will allow different fan communities to collaborate and make changes throughout the world for social change.
ORIGINAL SCREEN USED DELOREAN TIME MACHINE FROM BACK TO THE FUTURE III ON EXHIBITION

There were several DeLorean cars used during the three Back to the Future moves, so where are they all?

Los Angeles, CA – July 14, 2011 – Where are all the real DeLorean Time Machines that were used in the Back to the Future movies? Sadly, some of them no longer exist and others are in need of extensive work. Of the seven cars used over the three movies, only three original cars are thought to still exist. Presented by Profiles in History, the famed auction house that represented the Debbie Reynolds Collection this summer, one of those screen used DeLoreans will be at Comic-Con 2011 for public viewing in conjunction with Team Fox benefitting The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. The main goal is to give fans the opportunity to see and be photographed in the car. For a $20 donation to the Foundation you can be photographed in the DeLorean with all proceeds going to Team Fox.

Profiles in History is proud to present the original DeLorean Time Machine driven by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future III. It will be presented at booth 1605, along with several original artifacts from all three Back to the Future movies with the hopes of creating a Back To The Future "museum" experience. Along with the Time Machine will be original costumes, the Tales From Space comic, Doc's burned toy Cadillac, Clock Tower cables, Gray's Almanac, the Doc Brown committed/commended newspapers, a full set of all five types of hoverbo, and other rarely seen pieces of cinematic history.

The Time Machine has been in private hands for the past 8 years, and was recently featured on the Hollywood Treasure television show hosted by Joe Maddalena. Joe and his staff will be at the booth in person to greet fans, and share these rare pieces of history. In conjunction with Team Fox, this is a rare opportunity to get your pictures taken with the original Time Machine.

The Time Machine will be available for viewing during advertised Comic-Con show hours, and will be in a future Profiles in History auction later this year, with a portion of the proceeds going to Team Fox benefitting The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Previously it could be seen at the San Diego Air & Space Museum.

About The Michael J. Fox Foundation

Fox Foundation is dedicated to accelerating a cure for Parkinson's disease and improved therapies for those living with the condition today. SYFY PAIRS WITH HER UNIVERSE TO DRESS GEEK GIRLS
AT SAN DIEGO COMIC CON
SYFY & STAR WARS EXCLUSIVES AND SPECIAL PANEL FOR FEMALE FANS

With superheroes ruling the box office and latter-day pulp heroes dominating the dial, “geek chic” is all over pop culture - but despite our cultural embrace of all this "genre" goodness, geek girls are still struggling to be heard amidst the squeaky wheels of male fandom. Noticing a distinct lack of representation for the growing numbers of female fans, actress Ashley Eckstein (the voice of Ahsoka Tano on Star WarsTM: The Clone Wars) is leading the charge and taking up the cause - creating a voice for girls no longer willing to be relegated to the sidelines of popular entertainment. A year ago, she launched HER UNIVERSETM, a female genre line featuring fashionable apparel and accessories for fangirls from the beloved Star Wars franchise. These unique female-focused products are offered through her website, www.heruniverse.com or at select Sci-Fi conventions around the country.

Eckstein is quickly proving that there's more than enough room in the science fiction universe for everyone. As further evidence of that, her company, HER UNIVERSE, is premiering its all-new Syfy branded line of fangirl apparel and accessories for Battlestar Galactica, Warehouse 13 and “Syfy’s Original Movies” at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (July 20th-24th). Included in the launch are shirts, a sweatshirt and jewelry “designed in part by women for women,” which will also be available online.

“I am so excited to be partnering with Syfy as they are a television destination for millions of fangirls,” said Ashley Eckstein. “As women, we are passionate about our favorite shows and characters and we want to show off that passion by the items we wear. Now, just like Star Wars, all of the female Syfy fans will have some feminine and fashionable pieces made just for them.”

In addition to the premiere of HER UNIVERSE’S “Syfy Gear” line, Eckstein will be offering new releases in her burgeoning Star Wars collection which includes female-focused shirts, hoodies, undergarments, hats, earrings, bracelets and more. Because of demand, Eckstein is now offering two popular Star Wars designs in children’s sizes for younger fangirls too!

San Diego Comic-Con fans are always looking for those elusive exclusives each year and HER UNIVERSE will not disappoint. Available in a limited number for purchase at this year’s convention will be an exclusive Battlestar Galactica “Toaster” necklace and a Star Wars charm which can be added to the Star Wars charm bracelet – also making its debut at San Diego.

Eckstein’s new endeavor, however, is not just about selling merchandise. She has begun setting down the roots of a movement within the Sci-Fi community to equally acknowledge the female fan base and connect fangirls to one another. For the second year-in-a-row, HER UNIVERSE will be sponsoring a special panel at Comic-Con featuring a group of distinguished panelists from film, television, comics and publishing. This year’s topic, “What Women Want in Their Sci-Fi Heroes,” is hosted by Eckstein and is scheduled for Thursday, July 21st from 6pm to 7pm in room 25ABC.

The current line of HER UNIVERSE Star Wars apparel and accessories can be found at www.heruniverseshop.com. The new HER UNIVERSE Syfy branded apparel debuts at San Diego Comic Con and online simultaneously.
SID & MARTY KROFFT AND SUPERMODEL/ACTRESS ANGIE EVERHART

TO HEADLINE EXCLUSIVE PANEL ON FRIDAY, JULY 22 AT 10AM

IN ROOM 23ABC ONLY AT COMIC-CON IN SAN DIEGO

(Los Angeles, CA) – Sid & Marty Krofft will appear at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Friday, July 22 to take part in a panel to discuss their past, present and future. The panel will begin at 10 a.m. in Room: 23ABC at the San Diego Convention Center and will be hosted by supermodel/actress Angie Everhart. “When Angie was getting ready to shoot Happily Divorced (on TV Land with Fran Drescher) -- which airs on July 27th by the way -- we met on the CBS lot” said Marty Krofft. “Now that she has a young son, she has once again become very interested in kids programming. When I found out that the Krofft shows were a huge influence on her growing up I thought she would be great to host our panel at Comic-Con so I asked her and here she is.” Sid & Marty Krofft changed Saturday mornings forever when the sibling puppeteers unleashed colorful characters like H.R. Pufnstuf and The Bugaloos on a generation of sugary-cereal-fueled kids growing up in the 1970s and ’80s. They will debut a brand new SIGMUND AND THE SEA MONSTERS: SEASON 1 DVD collection on September 6, the second release in their exclusive new partnership with Vivendi Entertainment. The arrival of SIGMUND in September will cap a busy few months for the Kroffts. It began in April with the launch of www.sidandmartykrofft.com, the online home for all the latest news from “The World of Sid and Marty Krofft.” One subject they are sure to touch on in this panel is the recent announcement that DreamWorks Animation is bringing the beloved 1970’s television series Lidsville to the big screen in a feature film. The Kroffts will also update fans about the H.R. Pufnstuf feature that is in development at Sony. Sid, Marty and Angie will be available for a select few interviews immediately following the panel in Pressroom 22. After the press interviews, Sid, Marty and Angie will be in the Huckleberry booth #3449, signing autographs from 1-2:30PM. There you will find Sid & Marty Krofft’s Secret Stash…a host of limited edition items ranging from artwork, t-shirts, action figures, 3D lenticular photos and more for sale. There will also be an exclusive free promo poster available to fans on a first-come, first serve basis (exclusive to Comic-Con) in support of SIGMUND AND THE SEA MONSTERS: SEASON 1 DVD.
