LET SLIP THE WEREWOLVES OF WAR IN CRY HAVOC, VOLUME 1: MYTHING IN ACTION
Collects the first arc into trade paperback this August

“Flawless.” —The Nerdist

From writer Simon Spurrier (X-Men: Legacy) and superstar artist Ryan Kelly comes the darkly folkloric CRY HAVOC, VOLUME 1: MYTHING IN ACTION, which collects issues #1-6 in trade paperback this August.

Meet Lou: a street musician savaged by a supernatural terror.

Meet Lou: a civilian crossing war-torn Afghanistan with a unit of shapeshifting soldiers.

Meet Lou: a monstress held captive by the rogue beast she was sent to kill.

CRY HAVOC interweaves three stages of a remarkable life into a critically-exalted saga of military, myth, and mania, including an unprecedented use of multiple colorists (Matt Wilson, Lee Loughridge, & Nick Filardi) to define the story's threads.

CRY HAVOC, VOLUME 1: MYTHING IN ACTION (ISBN 978-1-63215-833-8) hits comic book stores Wednesday, August 17th and bookstores Tuesday, August 23rd and will be available for $14.99. It can be ordered by retailers through Diamond Book Distributors with the Diamond Code MAY160675. It can be preordered now via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indiebound, and Indigo.

PRAISE FOR CRY HAVOC:

“An electrifying account of black ops, black dogs and weaponised folklore that is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Best in show.” —Alan Moore

“CRY HAVOC is flawless. It sinks its teeth into you and won’t let go. Graceful, elegant, visceral and fierce, it runs the gamut. If there’s any justice in the world this will be another huge hit for Image Comics.” —The Nerdist

“The supernatural spec-ops comic for grownups. Literary, human, complicated, bloody, horrible, compulsive.” —Kieron Gillen

“CRY HAVOC arrives like Christmas, reads like candy, and lingers like a concussion. One of the most thrilling and surprising books I’ve read in ages.” —Gail Simone

QC ENTERTAINMENT TO FINANCE MICHAEL SHEEN’S FEATURE FILM DIRECTORIAL DEBUT “GREEN RIVER KILLER”

Sheen To Star As Infamous Serial Killer Gary Ridgway
QC Entertainment, Dark Horse Entertainment and Sheen To Produce
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LOS ANGELES, CA — QC Entertainment announced today the company will produce and finance the true crime thriller “Green River Killer,” which marks the feature film directorial debut of acclaimed actor Michael Sheen who will also star in the film.  The screenplay written by Sheen made the coveted The Black List in 2015, and is adapted from the Dark Horse Entertainment’s award-winning graphic novel Green River Killer: A True Detective Story.  The novel was written by Jeff Jensen, based on his father Tom Jensen, and artist Jonathan Case.
The film will be produced by Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg, Sheen and QC Entertainment’s Sean McKittrick and Ray Mansfield.  QC’s Edward H. Hamm Jr. and Shaun Redick will serve as Executive Producers.  The film will be co-represented for domestic film sales by ICM Partners and QC Entertainment, which is the recently formed partnership between McKittrick, Hamm, Mansfield and Redick.
The film is the story of Tom Jensen, the man who spent twenty years looking for the ‘Green River Killer,’ and Gary Ridgway (to be played by Sheen), the man he caught.  After a two-decade hunt and forty-nine official murders, the two men are forced to live and work together in a dark alliance to uncover the truth.
“Michael has written an elegant script which brings his sophisticated vision to subverting the typical serial killer movie,” said QC Principals McKittrick and Mansfield.  “Jensen and Ridgway are terrific roles for both an actor of Michael’s caliber and the actor cast opposite him.  As producers who have long championed actors making the move to directing, we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.”
“This is a dark story but one that ultimately finds hope and meaning in that darkness,” said Sheen.  “The story of Tom and Gary, and how they are bound together in time, pulled me in from the beginning and wouldn’t let go.  I hope that by now bringing it to life on screen it can make audiences feel the same way.”
“’Green River Killer’ presents the ultimate insider’s account of America’s most prolific serial killer,” said Dark Horse Entertainment President Mike Richardson.  “Michael Sheen’s passion for the material was clear when he insisted on adapting the book on spec.  His screenplay proves that Jeff Jensen’s Eisner Award-winning graphic novel is perfectly suited for the screen.”
Sheen is repped by ICM Partners, Tammy Rosen of Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management and attorneys James Adams and Ira Schreck of Schreck Rose Dapello & Adams LLP.  The deal for Sheen was negotiated by ICM Partners and Schreck Rose Dapello & Adams LLP.  The deal for Dark Horse Entertainment was negotiated by attorney Keith G. Fleer.  Ray Mansfield negotiated the deals on behalf of QC Entertainment.

Dark Horse Books Reveals The First Look at ANGEL CATBIRD

Dark Horse Books Reveals The First Look at ANGEL CATBIRD
by Margaret Atwood, Johnnie Christmas, and Tamra Bonvillain
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MILWAUKIE, OR— This fall, Dark Horse Books will publish one of the most eagerly anticipated and unusual books of the year: ANGEL CATBIRD, the first graphic novel by Margaret Atwood, the Man Booker Award-winning author of The Blind Assassin, The Handmaid’s Tale, and The Heart Goes Last. For her first graphic novel, Atwood is collaborating with artist Johnnie Christmas (Sheltered) and colorist Tamra Bonvillain (Doom Patrol) for a weird and wonderful tale about a part-cat, part-bird superhero. Timed to Atwood’s appearance at the American Library Association Conference in Orlando, FL this week and ahead of her appearance at San Diego Comic Con next month, Dark Horse Books has revealed the first look inside ANGEL CATBIRD.
"I grew up in the 1940s drawing comics, and I've continued: I even drew a strip in the 1970s. So what better way to explore cat/bird interactions and the welfare of both than through a flying catbird superhero? I'm thrilled to be working with Johnnie Christmas, who can draw way better than I can!" said Margaret Atwood.
ANGEL CATBIRD is the latest politically charged book by Atwood, who was recently named the recipient of the 2016 PEN Pinter Prize for her political and environmental activism. ANGEL CATBIRD is being published by Dark Horse Books in tandem with Keep Cats Safe and Save Bird Lives, www.catsandbirds.ca, an initiative led by Nature Canada, the oldest conservation charity in the country.
“This project has been a fun mix of advocacy, humor, and adventure,” said Johnnie Christmas. “Margaret Atwood is a fountain of ideas, it’s been an absolute blast working with her. And our tale of ‘half-cats’ gets a fine boost from the wonderful Tamra Bonvillain. Her vibrant colors help bring the world of ANGEL CATBIRD to life.”
ANGEL CATBIRD (978-1-50670-063-2will be a 3 volume series of 6'' x 9'' full color hardcovers, priced at $14.99 each. More information about the ANGEL CATBIRD graphic novels and Nature Canada’s campaign will be released throughout 2016.
