NYCC 2015: “LONE WOLF 2100” RETURNS FOR MONTHLY SERIES

ERIC HEISSERER REVAMPS A CLASSIC
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: OCTOBER 8, 2015—From screenwriter Eric Heisserer (Shaper) and artist Miguel Sepulveda (Red Lanterns, Action Comics) comes Lone Wolf 2100, a reimagining of Kazuo Koike’s classic manga Lone Wolf and Cub set in the not-too-distant future.
“It’s a genuine privilege to get to write for a title as iconic as Lone Wolf and Cub, and the 2100 setting allows me an opportunity to tell a fresh iteration of this story,” said Heisserer. “The best science fiction holds up a mirror to contemporary society and exaggerates all its flaws (but also its beauty). That’s what I aspire to do with the ideas behind Lone Wolf 2100.”
AD 2100: A devastating manmade plague is turning the human race into cannibalistic monsters known as the Thrall. But there is hope: young Daisy Ogami’s blood holds the secret to a cure—if Itto, her android protector, can get her to a place where it can be extracted!
Lone Wolf 2100 #1 (of 4) is in stores January 6, 2016, from Dark Horse Comics. Preorder your copy today at your local comic shop.

LARA CROFT BEGINS A NEW SERIES OF ADVENTURES WRITTEN BY THE AWARD-WINNING SCRIBE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MILWAUKIE, OR—In 2016, Lara Croft is back, and she’s bringing a whole new bag of tricks to the table at the hands of award-winning writer Mariko Tamaki.

“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to write up some adventures for Lara Croft. I feel like I’ve just gotten this new, incredibly daring, strong, valiant friend, and now I get to think up super-cool stuff for her to do,” said Mariko Tamaki. “And she has to take me with her. NYCC 2015: VAN JENSEN BRINGS ALL-NEW PROJECTS TO DARK HORSE

DARK HORSE TO PUBLISH JENSEN’S CREATOR-DRIVEN ORIGINAL SERIES IN 2016
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MILWAUKIE, OR—In 2016, fan-favorite Green Lantern Corps and The Flash scribe Van Jensen brings a new lineup of creator-driven original series to Dark Horse Comics—and you won’t believe what he plans to tackle first.
They were the gunmen on the grassy knoll.
They conducted the Philadelphia Experiment.
They found the ship that crashed in Roswell—and its pilots.
They allowed the Japanese to attack Pearl Harbor. They faked the moon landing.
For ages, they have worked in the shadows, controlling the fate of the world. But now, they are being hunted.
In Cryptocracy, Jensen teams with Action Comics artist Pete Woods for a deep exploration into the secret society behind every major conspiracy in history—and why they’re suddenly being killed. Coming May 2016, the series combines Jensen’s profound story with Woods’s dynamic art for a story that shouldn’t be missed.
Then, in September 2016, Jensen gets back to his roots as a crime reporter for Two Dead, a collaboration with legendary March artist Nate Powell.
On a snowy New Year’s Day, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Police Chief O. N. Martin gunned down his lieutenant, Jack Deubler, and then killed himself. The threads of crime, conspiracy, violence, racism, and madness that led to this tragic true-crime case of murder-suicide are retraced in Two Dead, which follows in the footsteps of true-crime epics such as Green River Killer.
Look forward to seeing these new stories in 2016!

BERKELEY BREATHED’S
BLOOM COUNTY IS BACK!
IDW TO PUBLISH COLLECTION OF NEW COMIC STRIPS IN 2016

San Diego, CA (October 8, 2015) – For the first time since 1989, Berkeley Breathed is producing new Bloom County comic strips. Featuring all of his beloved characters—Opus, Bill the Cat, Milo, Steve Dallas, and more—the world has never been more ready for Breathed’s biting satire and skewering humor to make a return—and, more importantly, on his own terms, free of the editorial constraints of corporately owned newspaper syndicates. In that spirit, IDW is very proud to announce the publication of the first in a new series of Bloom County Collections, debuting in the Summer of 2016.

“It's hard to say why, but for me, doing Bloom County has suddenly become… what’s the word…fun,” said Berkeley Breathed, "I’d like to think readers can tell. When the strips are brought together in a book, I think you especially can.”

Breathed’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Bloom County ran from 1980 until 1989, when Breathed walked away from the strip at the peak of its popularity. Then, in the summer of 2015, and with no advance warning, he brought the cast of Bloom County back to an unsuspecting world—via social media—which caused a media frenzy as word of the strips unexpected return spread virally to multitudes of delighted fans.

“As a fan, I was ecstatic when new Bloom County strips began to appear,” said Editor, Scott Dunbier. “As an editor, I’m thrilled to work on this book—thank you, Berkeley!"

8HOUSE OPENS THE DOOR TO A NEW STORY ARC
What is worthy of being human?

Writer Emma Ríos (PRETTY DEADLY, ISLAND) and artist Hwei Lim (LALAGE, HERO) will launch a new story arc in the boldly beautiful sci-fi/fantasy collaborative miniseries 8HOUSE this December.
So far in the 8HOUSE series readers have experienced outcast blood knights, astrally-projected soldiers, and disbodied assassins.
MIRROR is a four-part sci-fi/fantasy story arc connected to the 8HOUSE universe and focused on the House of Healers, a noble magical guild based on flesh and body magic. Each issue contains 28 pages of comic narrative: a main story and short epilogues that bring more light to the intrigue, as well as concept art, designs, timeline keys, and glossaries. Ríos and Lim build this tale together, occasionally swapping roles.
8HOUSE #6: MIRROR: PART 1 (of 4) explores the concept of humanity—specifically, how one attains such a distinction. The MIRROR story arc follows a terrorist talking dog, an idealist mage, and a heroic lab rat on their quest for acceptance.
“Each 8House story is unique, and beautiful,” said Ríos. “Mirror speaks about sacrifice and freedom of choice, in a world full of strange creatures more humans than us.”
Added Lim: “If I had to, I'd describe Mirror as the 8House story with the talking animals, the one about playing God; the one that admits humans aren't all-powerful, even with the power of technology or magic or whatever we want to call it…”
8HOUSE #6: MIRROR: PART 1 (of 4) (Diamond code: SEP150518) hits stores Wednesday, December 2nd. Final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, November 9th.
