Jack Kirby’s Fantastic Four Artist’s Edition Coming from IDW!
Celebrating “King” Kirby’s Centennial Birthday Year with Historic Launch in 2017
San Diego, CA (July 21, 2016) – January 2017 will see the release of Jack Kirby’s Fantastic Four Artist’s Edition, collecting multiple complete stories, all captured directly from Jack Kirby’s original art. This will be the second Artist’s Edition of Kirby’s immensely popular and influential Marvel work, following the recent release of the highly anticipated Jack Kirby’s The Mighty Thor Artist’s Edition. "These issues of Fantastic Four represent Jack Kirby operating at the top of his game, which is about as high a compliment as I can pay a comic book,” said noted comics historian and Kirby biographer Mark Evanier. "As a reader, I felt like the fifth member of the Fantastic Four—and that was in the small format with the bad printing. When I get the IDW book, I will probably want to move into it and live there." Kirby’s work on the Fantastic Four, with his long-time collaborator Stan Lee, is considered to be some of the finest comics ever done. Adding to the prestige, legendary inker Joe Sinnott embellished all the pages in this book. This breathtaking volume will include Issues #82 and #83 (guest-starring the Inhumans), and the 48-page epic from Fantastic Four Annual #6, featuring the birth of Franklin Richards, plus more! “Kirby’s inventive story-telling set the bar that Marvel has honored for decades,” says David Gabriel, SVP Sales & Marketing, Marvel Comics. “We couldn’t be prouder to see this fantastic work made available in this new prestige over-sized format that pays tribute to Jack ‘The King’ Kirby’s exemplary talent and skill.” “What better way is there to kick off Jack Kirby’s centennial birthday year than by releasing our first Kirby Fantastic Four Artist’s Edition?” said editor (and life-long Kirby fan) Scott Dunbier. “And did you catch how I said first?” IDW Pioneered the Artist’s Edition format in 2010 and has won five consecutive Eisner Awards to date. |

IDW Announces Post-Revolution Debuts!
G.I. JOE, M.A.S.K., and Other New Titles Explode Out of September’s Bi-Weekly Event Series San Diego, CA (July 21, 2016) – This September, the 5-part bi-weekly REVOLUTION will forever impact the future of Transformers, G.I. Joe, ROM, Micronauts, Action Man, and M.A.S.K.: Mobile Armored Strike Kommand, establishing a cohesive comic book universe for all these characters and titles. Spinning out of those universe-defining events, multiple exciting new Hasbro-licensed titles will follow shortly thereafter to pick up the story where Revolution leaves off.
Transformers: Lost Light will continue the fan-favorite adventures told by More Than Meets the Eye writer James Roberts, joined on art by Jack Lawrence (Doctor Who Adventures). Beginning in December, this new series will take Rodimus and the crew of the starship Lost Light into the farthest reaches of the universe, searching for the long-lost Knights of Cybertron.
Next, John Barber, who recently exited his post as IDW’s Hasbro Group Editor, won’t be straying too far from his IDW roots as he tackles Optimus Prime, the first solo series to star the eponymous Autobot. John will be joined by artist Kei Zama (Scarlett Witch). Optimus Prime has declared Earth to be under his protection—and this November, he’ll have to face the consequences. All those titles will join the currently running Transformers: Till All Are One, Micronauts, and upcoming ROM, which will each continue on, their storylines now converging with this newly established universe as their backdrop. |

"Bruce Lee meets Swamp Thing in Intertwined, a tale of mystery, martial arts, and menace. It's masterful!" - David Gallaher (The Only Living Boy, High Moon)"Intertwined asks the question: if Peter Parker had been a Chinese immigrant, what kind of hero would he have become? Fabrice's love of American popular culture is evident, but here he's re-introducing some diverse elements by referencing Chinese legends and teaming with artist Fred Pham Chuong to lend the book the visual style of martial arts manhua. This comic has the feel of Bruce Lee movies and the 1970s Kung Fu TV show, but with a hard-bitten noir edge. A timely message on cooperation for today's dis-United States." - David Hine (Second Sight, Darkness, Spawn)"With Intertwined, Sapolsky, Pham Chong, and Lopez manage to capture the thrill of a period 70s Kung Fu tale while putting their own unique, modern spin on the tale. Frederic Pham Chong is an artist to watch; don't miss out on his electrifying debut!" - Mark Sable (Graveyard of Empires)"An elemental version of Rock, Paper, Scissors... Intertwined spiritually picks up where chopsocky movies of the 1970s and hip-hop of the 1990s left off." - Dean Haspiel (The Red Hook, Billy Dogma)
