FIVE GHOSTS' SECOND ACT GETS SECOND PRINTING

Second consecutive issue of pulp adventure comic sells out

The second issue of the pulp-inspired Image Comics series FIVE GHOSTS: THE HAUNTING OF FABIAN GRAY by Frank Barbiere and Chris Mooneyham has sold out the same week as its release and has immediately gone back to press. The second printing (Diamond code MAR13813) will be in stores on May 15, a week before FIVE GHOSTS #3.

The first issue of FIVE GHOSTS also sold out. Its second printing was in stores alongside #2 on April 17. The praise received for the first issue has continued along with the supernatural story of a man possessed by five spirits, each a literary archetype, that imbue him with their skills:

"Five Ghosts is probably the most fun comic you will read this year. Barbiere has crafted a story that thrives on the page, and is nothing but a pleasure to read. An insanely original concept weaved around a globe trotting adventure make for an issue that is impossible to set down. All things combined make for one of the best books out there today.”

"This is a book with a great premise that actually delivers on it and reads great all the way through.”

"...a seamless continuation of the exciting first issue, with even more emphasis on the action and the same consistently brilliant illustration.”

"With an original story created by an inspired and skilled team, there's no question in my mind why Image chose to support this project before someone else did.”

METRO: LAST LIGHT DIGITAL COMIC

APRIL 18, MILWAUKIE, OR–The next generation of video game comics arrives from Dark Horse and Deep Silver this May! The Gospel According to Artyom, a Metro: Last Light digital graphic novel, is a unique collaboration between Metro 2033 author Dmitry Glukhovsky and Dark Horse Comics.

Metro: Last Light is a first-person-shooter video game and the highly anticipated sequel to the extraordinary Metro 2033. In the year 2034, a nuclear war has turned the world into a postapocalyptic wasteland. In Moscow, the tunnels of the Metro have become a new home for the former inhabitants of the city. Within the catacombs, they fight for their survival, fending off hordes of hideous mutants born from the toxic atmosphere, as well as other factions desperate to take control of what little hospitable land remains. As they fight, they also search for a doomsday device that could be the key to their victory. A civil war is inevitable. During these dark hours, the players will embody Artyom and become the last light for all of mankind.

Telling the story of Artyom between the fateful events of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, the digital graphic novel The Gospel According to Artyom is available exclusively to customers who preorder Metro: Last Light through Steam and other selected retailers worldwide.

"The Gospel According to Artyom' is in fact the last chapter of Metro 2033 and the first chapter of Metro: Last Light, linking both stories together and giving an unexpected insight on what really happened in the beginning of it all. Reading it will change your understanding of my saga," said Dmitry Glukhovsky.

The novel Metro 2033 served as the inspiration for the creation of both video games, and Glukhovsky personally contributed a huge volume of dialogue for Metro: Last Light. Glukhovsky’s novels Metro 2033 and Metro 2034 have sold more than two million copies worldwide. In 2013, his latest book, Metro 2035, will be available outside of Russia.

CHRYSTA BELL COMES TO LA AND SF THIS MAY

Hypnotic and Haunting Singer’s Upcoming Performances Are Presented by
David Lynch, Who Produced Bell’s 11-Song Debut This Train

Tickets on Sale Now for the May 9 Show at Bimbos in San Francisco
and the May 12 Show sponsored by 89.9 KCRW at the
Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES  — (April 18, 2013) — Sultry chanteuse Chrysta Bell will perform in San Francisco and Los Angeles at concerts presented by David Lynch this May. She begins on Thursday, May 9 at Bimbos 365 Club (1025 Columbus Ave, San Francisco) and then lands Sunday, May 12 in Los Angeles in a show sponsored by 89.9 KCRW at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever (6000 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles). “The first time I saw her perform, I thought she was like an alien. The most beautiful alien ever,” Lynch says.  Tickets for Bimbos ($18 in advance, $20, day of show) are available through their website: http://tinyurl.com/cx6d23j and tickets for the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever (Admission is $25) are available through their website: http://tinyurl.com/cdwsfh2 (Please note David Lynch will not be in attendance for the San Francisco event but has provided an introduction and selected background visuals for both Chrysta Bell shows.)

Dior premiered Chrysta Bell’s “Real Love” in their recent commercial for the perfume Hypnotic Poison. Watch it here: http://tinyurl.com/amuwp8s Chrysta Bell also secured a fashion spread and feature in Italian Vogue’s February 2013 issue shot by renowned high-fashion photographer Emma Summerton as well as a stunning new music video for “Friday Night Fly” directed by Trevor Undi, shot exclusively for V Magazine.com. Watch it here: http://tinyurl.com/c8swgg7

A longtime collaborator with Bell, Lynch first began working with the San Francisco-based singer-songwriter in 2000. The legendary filmmaker’s surreal epic Inland Empire, saw the use of the duo’s song “Polish Poem,” a classically Lynchian ballad, spotlighted in the film’s closing moments.

Building on their powerful chemistry, the pair reunited for Bell’s debut, This Train. Released on La Rose Noire, the 11-song album was produced and written by Lynch. Evocative of Lynch’s film and television productions — as well as his recent solo debut Crazy Clown Time — the album’s dark and airy musical soundscapes conjure a dramatic atmosphere that allows Bell’s breathy inflections and soulful melodies to truly take flight.  Lynch adds: “Chrysta Bell is not only a killer performer, she also has a great intuitive ability to catch a mood and find a melody that’s really spectacular.”

Bell certainly fits Lynch’s vision of the femme fatale archetype, projecting an on-stage persona that references Julie London, Rita Hayworth and Isabella Rossellini. “She was born to sing and be on stage,” Lynch says of Bell. A recent London performance earned Bell comparisons to Portishead and Massive Attack from the Web site, theupcoming.co.uk, which added that: “Bell’s on-stage persona propels her to another level entirely.”

Indeed, her fiery, multimedia performances around the world have forged true believers in London, Paris, Rome, Shanghai, Montreal and Austin, Texas, which is not far from her hometown San Antonio. Raised there by her mother, a professional vocalist, and her stepfather, who owned a local recording studio, Bell was singing jingles by the time she was 11 and doing musical theater at 13. She first caught Lynch’s attention years later when she was the lead vocalist of RCA Victor’s gypsy swing act 8 ½ Souvenirs.
THE WORRYWOO MONSTERS TAKE THE STAGE
Monsters of Emotions adapted into a Woosical

Jersey City, NJ (April 18th, 2013) - Andi Green, creator of the award-winning series The WorryWoo Monsters, announced today that rumors of a WorryWoo Musical are true! Green has signed a contract with seasoned theater pros Kristen Tumminello (musical theatre instructor, AL) , Kelley Birney (Actress/ Writer, CA) and Jay Tumminello (NY based Composer/Arranger) to create and produce the first Woosical! "They have written an unbelievable script with a dream come true musical score" says Green. "I have always thought about bringing the WorryWoos to life, and what they put together already goes above and beyond anything I could have imagined!" Green explains that Jay Tumminello, the Woosical composer, has created a score that rivals the likes of her favorite soundtracks, the Muppets and The Last Unicorn. As well, the script written by Kristen Tumminello and Kelley Birney has adapted the WorryWoo characters into a magical experience that brings the "Woo" world to life.

The Tumminellos and Birney started writing the script and music two years ago after Kristen discovered The WorryWoos in a local gift shop in Huntsville, AL. "The first time I read Green's books, I was inspired!" says K. Tumminello. Kristen contacted her writing team, lifetime friends Kelley Birney and brother-in-law Jay Tumminello about the project. "Kristen was so excited about this, I knew it had to be something amazing," says Birney." After I read the books, I was hooked and knew she was absolutely right!" The collaborators met Andi Green in NYC in April of 2011 and the rest is history! This magical project was not without its challenges though. With the writers being in 3 different states, they would email back and forth regularly and meet every few months to brainstorm until the Woosical script was complete.

From Fuddle and Wince's duet about confusion and worry to Squeek's poignant song about leaving his "Bubble", the Woosical brings to life five WorryWoo characters exploring various emotions in the signature WorryWoo way. "One might think it is a challenge to write a song about a monster who lives in a bubble (Squeek)," says J. Tumminello, "but for me the music just came naturally. These characters tap into the psyche of both children and adults. I wanted the music to do the same!" Andi Green adds that both the script and music retain the valuable lessons about each of the emotions The WorryWoos are known for while creating a wonderful musical theatre experience.

So get ready to embrace your emotions - literally!! The Woosical will debut in workshops throughout Summer 2013 and production dates are anticipated to begin mid 2014.

Woosical Synopsis:
Meet the WorryWoos: Squeek, Rue, Fuddle and Wince. Four friends on an incredible journey to find Nola, a monster they have never met, but she just may hold the key to everything. Along the way the monsters face loneliness, insecurity, confusion, fear and worry. But through sheer determination, unyielding friendship and, of course, the power of song, they find more than what they were looking for. By working through challenges together they find the courage and confidence it takes to succeed.

Based on the award winning children's book series by author Andi Green, playwrights Kristen Tumminello and Kelley Birney, with composer Jay Tumminello, bring the WorryWoos to life in Woosical, a rollicking new musical that will have children of all ages dancing, singing and embracing their Inner Woo!

Jay is very excited to be a part of the WOOSICAL creative team.

Today Green's WorryWoos can be found in gift, boutique and toy shops around the world. Andi's goal is to help children embrace their emotions and find their inner Woo. And with the release of her sixth book, a new WorryWoo app and the Woosical on its way it seems her message is catching on.
