Kurt Cobain Graphic Novel Coming To IDW
The Nirvana Frontman And Grunge Icon Will Be The Subject Of An Original Graphic Novel
San Diego, CA (April 9, 2015) – The most iconic singer/songwriter of his generation, Kurt Cobain left behind a phenomenal body of work, legions of fans, and a mystery… a final letter addressed to “Boddah.”

Now, award-winning creator Nicolas Otero brings the story of this note to life in the forthcoming original graphic novel WHO KILLED KURT COBAIN?

Based on the French novel, Le Roman de Boddah by Heloise Guay de Bellissen, this adaptation – a work of fiction – recounts real-life events from Cobain’s life, as narrated by his childhood imaginary friend, Boddah.

Through the eyes of Boddah, readers get a front row seat to the highs and lows of one of music’s most influential voices like they’ve never experienced before. Trace the arc of modern rock’s greatest icon from the dark clubs of Seattle to the bright lights of the world stage… and all the angst, horror, and thrill that came with that ride in this captivating graphic tale.

IDW Publishing is proud to make this announcement in the city that Cobain called home during Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle.

“I was 17 when Nirvana and Kurt Cobain came to Paris in 1992,” recalls artist Nicolas Otero. “I saw them live the day before my graduation and it was… explosive, mind-blowing, sonic, and so powerful. When Kurt put an end to his life in 1994, I remember hearing the name of Boddah for the first time. I thought it could be a fantastic way to tell Kurt’s story, with Boddah as the narrator. Twenty years later, my hair is not long nor dirty, I’m the father of three wonderful kids, and life has given me such a great gift. I can finally draw this little voice and explore what I imagined Kurt’s mind and life were inside. I hope you’ll enjoy reading it as I enjoyed doing it. I’m 17 again today.”

“Nirvana blew the world open my freshman year of high school and were gone before graduation. In 1993 I saw them play on Halloween with Kurt dressed as Barney the dinosaur” said editor, Justin Eisinger. “But I didn’t know about Boddah. I’d never really thought about this mythical life — Kurt’s — from any perspective other than MTV-spawned voyeur. What Otero does here is impressive. His exploration peels back the curtain, showing another way to perceive this person’s life and accomplishments. Boddah’s narration is endearing and haunting… leading us to question what we expect to find inside those we idolize. After all, what do we know of our heroes?”

Who Killed Kurt Cobain? arrives in book stores this October.

EMERALD CITY COMICON ANNOUNCEMENT:
COMEDY CENTRAL'S BRICKLEBERRY RETURNS IN AN ALL-NEW
COMIC BOOK SERIES FROM DYNAMITE ENTERTAINMENT

Bento Box Entertainment Partners With Dynamite for the
Official Continuation of Roger Black and Waco O'Guin's Animated Series!

April 9, 2016, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Following up on the success of Loren Bouchard and Bento Box Entertainment's Bob's Burgers comes the continuation of another animated series in comic book form in Brickleberry!

First premiered in 2012, Brickleberry was a comedic take on the lives of park rangers working in the fictional national park of the same name. The series ran for three seasons and chronicled the daily misadventures of Brickleberry National Park's longtime ranger Woody Johnson and a supporting cast of federal employees as they bumble through their daily duties.

Picking up where the series finale left off in 2015, Dynamite will work directly with the show's creators Waco O'Guin and Roger Black for the official continuation of the series, featuring the same off-beat humor and backwoods politics for which it's known.

"We are so excited to be in business with Dynamite to tell more Brickleberry stories! Our first issue is an insane tale that picks up where the Brickleberry finale left off," says series co-creator Waco O'Guin.

"We truly believe this series will make all our Brickleberry fans very happy,"says co-creator, Roger Black. "Also, we are thrilled at the possibility of reaching the tons of comic book fans who might not yet know of the show."

"We are excited to expand our partnership with Bento Box to bring Brickleberry to comic books," says Dynamite CEO/Publisher, Nick Barrucci. "Bob's Burgers is one of our most rewarding programs, due largely to the direct involvement of the writers and artists working on the show. We know we have a repeatable recipe for success with the help of Bento Box and the series' creators."

Brickleberry arrives at your local comic shop this June from Dynamite and Bento Box Entertainment.

EMERALD CITY COMICON ANNOUNCEMENT:
WARREN ELLIS AND JASON MASTERS RETURN TO
IAN FLEMING'S JAMES BOND IN EIDOLON

James Bond Volume 1: VARGR to be Collected as a Deluxe Hardcover,
Timed for Day-and-Date Release with the EIDOLON Debut

April 8, 2016, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Following last year's massive critical hit series, James Bond: VARGR, masterful writer Warren Ellis (Transmetropolitan, The Authority) and artist Jason Masters (Batman Incorporated, Guardians of the Galaxy) return to tell the next chapter in the life of 007!

After World War Two, army intelligence groups created ghost cells called "stay-behinds" across Europe in the event of a Warsaw Pact surge. EIDOLON is the story of a SPECTRE stay-behind structure - ghost cells of SPECTRE loyalists acting as sleepers until the time is right for a SPECTRE reformation and resurgence. The time is now.

The new arc in Dynamite's smash hit series features the same creative team that wowed critics and fans alike back for another arc of suspense and intrigue!

"I landed on the idea of EIDOLON while reading Umberto Eco's last book, Numero Zero, which reminded me of Gladio and the 'stay-behind' forces embedded in Italy after World War II," says writer Warren Ellis. "I'd been looking for a way to introduce asymmetrical warfare and modern combat conditions into Bond without being too clunky about it -- AQ, Daesh, the movement of money, all the stuff that didn't necessarily pertain when Fleming was writing. Just as VARGR was about drugs, a subject Fleming barely grazed."

"Fans of the first arc will not be disappointed here, and as they saw in VARGR, Ellis and Masters are at the top of their game, delivering a Bond that is perfect in each and every way. EIDOLON is no exception," says Joseph Rybandt, Senior Editor.

"It was thrill enough to be granted the license by the Fleming estate," says Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci. "We knew we had to put the absolute best creative team we could on this series, and when the pages started coming in, it was clear that we couldn't have made a better decision. Then the reviews started pouring in echoing our sentiments, and we were validated yet again. To have Warren and Jason return for the second arc is nothing short of a coup, and we are ready to make comic book history all over again!"

Also releasing on June 15th will be a deluxe hardcover collection of the critically acclaimed debut series James Bond: VARGR! Kicking off after a mission of vengeance in Helsinki, James Bond returns to London and assumes the workload of a fallen 00 Section agent. His new mission takes him to Berlin, presumably to break up an agile drug-trafficking operation. But Bond has no idea of the forces ranged in secret against him, the full range of an operation that's much scarier and more lethal than he could possibly imagine. Berlin is about to catch fire... and James Bond is trapped inside.

New “Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens” Unleashes Summer 2016

Dark Horse, IDW, and 2000 AD team up for galactic mayhem!

FOR EMERALD CITY COMIC CON: Announced today at Emerald City Comicon, three of the universe’s most feared figures cross paths this summer in the ultimate science-fiction crossover: Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens!
Written by New York Times best-selling and Eisner Award–winning author John Layman (Chew, Mars Attacks: Occupation) with stunning interior artwork by Chris Mooneyham (Five Ghosts, Predator: Fire and Stone) and iconic covers by Eisner Award winner Glenn Fabry, this series will be the wild ride of the summer for readers everywhere!
Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens is just the sort of concept that would have Teenage John Layman wetting his pants with excitement…just at the possibility of reading it. Here, many, many years later, Old Man Layman is writing it, and it’s still every bit as thrilling,” remarked writer John Layman.
The crossover pits the legendary lawman Judge Dredd against the universe’s supreme hunters, the Predators, as they both try to survive an onslaught by the galaxy’s ultimate killing machines, the Aliens!
Judge Dredd and Judge Anderson have tracked a criminal cult across the Cursed Earth and into the Alabama morass, where a mad genetic scientist with destructive designs has acquired the best genes that evolution has to offer—a xenomorph skull!
A Predator, attracted to the warm climate and superior prey, has declared hunting season as he calls for backup. All paths will cross in a mind-blowing sci-fi showdown with the fate of the Earth at stake!
“This really is a dream-come-true project for me. I got to work on Aliens once before—a super cool experience, and one that was always on my creative bucket list. Dredd’s been on the bucket list as well, and you throw Predator into the mix, and it’s a trifecta of awesome. I’m loving every minute of this project so far,” added Layman.
Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens #1 (of 4) is in stores July 27, 2016.  Preorder your copy today at your local favorite comic shop.
