NBM news.
The just-concluded comics festival in Angouleme, France, has chosen DUNGEON: PARADE by Lewis Trondheim, Joann Sfar, and Manu Larcenet as one of the year's best books. On January 20, Trondheim's LITTLE NOTHINGS earned recognition from the Washington Post's MediaMix column .
Richard Moore's popular fantasy-comedy BONEYARD is going on hiatus after issue #28, shipping in March. In the meantime, NBM will continue to issue trade-paperback collections of BONEYARD. The next one, BONEYARD IN COLOR #3, should be in stores very soon. It may even be in some stores now.
Phil Yeh, creator of the geography graphic novel DINOSAURS ACROSS AMERICA, tells me: "[I] will have a space to paint a mural promoting literacy and the arts at the NY Comic Con, attached to their special emphasis on CHILDREN'S COMICS this year." Phil has been on tour, promoting literacy and painting murals with the help of schoolkids, for about 20 years. The New York Comic-Con (http://www.nycomiccon.com/App/homepage.cfm?moduleid=2577&appname=100453) takes place on April 18 through 20.
VĂ©ronique Tanaka's METRONOME, with an introduction by BONE's Jeff Smith, is also shipping in March and is already getting some very nice attention.
