GREG GOLDSTEIN JOINS IDW PUBLISHING AS

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER



(San Diego, CA; September 22, 2008) – IDW Publishing, a leading publisher of comic books and graphic novels, today announced that veteran entertainment and media executive Greg Goldstein has joined the company as Chief Operating Officer effective today.



“We are thrilled that Greg has joined our growing family,” said IDW CEO Ted Adams. “Greg’s demonstrated leadership capabilities and solid background in consumer entertainment publishing make him the ideal person to help guide us through the next phase of our growth. We are especially excited to leverage his entrepreneurial spirit, creative skills and extensive relationships in the entertainment industry.”



As COO, Goldstein will manage the company’s day-to-day operations, as well as help guide IDW as it expands its existing product lines and enters new categories.



Goldstein has a lengthy track record in managing top content-driven entertainment products and in the marketing and licensing of major entertainment and sports properties. Most recently, he was Vice President of Gaming and Entertainment at leading sports collectibles and entertainment trading game developer Upper Deck. Prior to that, Goldstein was CEO and Founder of Popmania, a development and brand-licensing agency focusing on digital entertainment, located in New York.



He also held several senior-level management, product development and licensing positions at major entertainment publishing companies, including Acclaim, a leading publisher of console games and personal computers; Activision, a worldwide developer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment and leisure products, and collectibles publishing companies Inkworks and Topps, where he was Director of Publishing for Topps Comics. Goldstein started his career at IBM where he successfully launched new employee and consumer publications and reinvigorated existing ones during his tenure.

Goldstein, who holds a Masters of Science degree from Columbia University, has taught classes in marketing, communications, and publication management at Iona College, Hofstra University and The State University of New York.
