Episode 8 of the Internet-only sitcom LIFE FROM THE INSIDE, “*may be addictive,” is complete online, and tens of thousands of fans have viewed it at the LIFE FROM THE INSIDE website, and on YouTube and iTunes.



Among them is director Kyle Newman, whose film Fanboys embraces an enthusiastic creative spirit. He’s become a fan of LIFE FROM THE INSIDE and its creators.



“What they pulled off is very impressive, especially considering the budget,” says Newman of the series, which costs just a few hundred dollars an episode to produce. “I think it is so cool that they have created a series together and are doing it out of passion. They are really making it happen!”



The latest episode of the independent, full-length, Internet-only sitcom has been a top-page podcast feature on iTunes, and has also been heavily featured on the Zune site and Zune Marketplace – no small irony given that “*may be addictive” focuses on the “cult” of popularity around Apple.



“We wanted to do an episode about cults,” says Robb Padgett, a producer, writer, and actor on the show. “I still have an original Mac and ImageWriter, and I thought it’d be fun if the cult we were creating wouldn’t allow their members to use any technology introduced after 1984. It’s a perfect way to showcase the old Mac, and to observe how obsessed with technology we’ve become.”



In LIFE FROM THE INSIDE, Padgett plays Mason, an agoraphobic jingle writer. When his best friend Guy gets sucked into the technology-shunning “Neo Amish” cult, Mason tries to lure Guy away from the cult with an iPhone. But nothing goes according to plan, and both Mason and Guy end up getting sucked into an even larger cult; think black mock turtle necks and New Balance sneakers.



“Robb and I are both huge Apple geeks ... though I’d probably beat him in a trivia contest or something,” says Steven Lekowicz, a producer and actor on the show. “We had great fun coming up with little touches here and there, small things that Apple fans will pick up on right away.”
