Our favorite demon turned mortal - Anya is coming!
Actress Emma Caulfield will be at Phoenix Comicon, Sunday, May 30th 2010.

PHOENIX, AZ MAY 18TH 2010: Actress Emma Caulfield will be appearing at Phoenix Comicon later this month, joining editor Christian Beranek for a talk about Emma's Contropussy webcomic and then speaking at a Q&A session where the floor will be open for questions about all of her work. Emma Caufield is best known for her role as Anya, on the critically acclaimed hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

“I absolutely loved her in Buffy,” said Jared Arthur, Phoenix Comicon's Operations Director.

After spending time on TV, Emma landed the starring role as "Caitlin Green" in the Revolution Studios thriller Darkness Falls. Caulfield then went on to produce and star in the film Bandwagon. Some of Caulfield's other work includes numerous television movies and the short film Hollow, an official selection in over 30 festival. She won the best actress award at the Beverly Hills Film Festival and the Sydney International Film Festival (A Night of Horrors). Most recently Caulfield starred in the romantic comedy/sci-fi hybrid film Timer. Emma has also re-teamed with Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) recurring on her new television series Gigantic.

Eureka! We’ve Got Him!

Eureka co-creator Jaime Paglia will be at Phoenix Comicon over Memorial Day Weekend

PHOENIX, AZ MAY 19TH: Eureka co-creator Jaime Paglia will join Kevin Grazier, John Scalzi (consultants for Battlestar Galactica, Eureka, and Stargate Universe) and science fiction movie consultant Seth Shostak to discuss science fiction in TV & Film. Jaime Paglia will also talk about his hit series, Eureka. The series has become a science fiction centerpiece hit for the SyFy channel and will air its 4th season in July. Jaime Paglia is the co-creator and Executive Producer of the Syfy Channel record-setting series, Eureka, which is currently in production on its fourth season of 20 episodes. Paglia started his career in feature films before creating Eureka with Andrew Cosby for the SyFy Channel and NBC Universal Television Studios. Eureka is not just a fan favorite, but also a critical success. Eureka was nominated in 2007 for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Visual Effects for a Series. The series did win the Leo Award for Best Visual Effects in a Dramatic Series.

The Green Lantern and The Flash and A Keyboard, Oh My!

Ethan Van Scriver talks about life, theories and plans at Phoenix Comicon

MAY 5th 2010, PHOENIX, AZ: Ethan Van Sciver will be back at Phoenix Comicon this May for numerous events, discussing his life, music, and of course comic books! Van Sciver is an American comic book artist, best known for illustrating a number of titles including Green Lantern, Superman/Batman, New X-Men, and currently, The Flash: Rebirth. His work is noted for its consistently detailed rendering.

Many of Van Sciver's most notable works have been produced in collaboration with writer Geoff Johns on the superhero-horror one-shot The Flash: Iron Heights. In 2008, Van Sciver was the guest artist on an issue of Justice League of America(#20). Van Sciver has also done the six-issue mini-series The Flash: Rebirth, and variant covers for the Green Lantern and DC Comics event, The Blackest Night.

It’s the Mastermind of Sci-Fi Himself!

Michael A. Stackpole shares his wisdom at Phoenix Comicon

Phoenix, AZ May 12th 2010: New York Times Bestselling author Michael A. Stackpole will be at Phoenix Comicon, to describe digital publishing and writing. The spotlight will also be on Stackpole when he presents his three week program on preparing future writers on writing novels. Of course, Michael Stackpole will also discuss Star Wars, Star Trek, and other fictional universes he has written in. Specific days of Michael A. Stackpole’s events at Phoenix Comicon are listed in the new Conquest Scheduler at phoenixcomicon.com.

Michael A. Stackpole is a science fiction and fantasy author best known for his Star Wars ( Several from the Star Wars: X-wing series and two from The New Jedi Order series) and Battletech books. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1979 with a BA in History. He sold his first gaming project to Flying Buffalo Inc. in 1977, and then headed for Arizona.

Stackpole’s Writing Workshop, “21 Days to a Novel,” is a three week program for preparing future writers to write a novel. This set of 21 exercises is broken down to give everything from character creation to world building, practical plotting devices, dialogue development and character voice creation tools. Additional cost is $20.
