(Calgary, AB) Hayden Panettiere, award winning actor and vocalist, has been added to the Calgary Expo's growing roster of media and creator guests for the convention which runs April 27-April 29, 2012.
Hayden has performed in over 50 titles since the start of her acting career at the young age of 11 months. She is known primarily for her portrayal of Claire Bennet in Heroes, making the phrase, “Save the Cheerleader, Save the World” a household saying. Hayden also starred in the fourth installment of the comedic-horror Scream franchise as well as being the voice behind Dot in Pixar’s A Bug's Life.
She has won multiple awards including the Teen Choice Award which she received three consecutive years (2007-2009)for her work on Heroes. She was also the recipient of the 2001 Young Artist Award as the Best Supporting Young Actress for her role alongside Denzel Washington in Remember the Titans.
“Hayden's work is expansive,to say the least,”says Event Director Kandrix Foong. “She is a great example of young talent in the industry and she's become a very strong role model.”
The attendance of Hayden at the Calgary Expo highlights the diverse nature of the show, as year after year the convention continues to expand its content to include elements that will excite enthusiasts of not only comics and science fiction, but also horror, gaming, family programming, animation and pop culture as a whole.

The Calgary Expo is a non-profit organization that showcases the incredible talent of comic creators, artists, actors, voice actors, musicians, writers and pop culture icons from all over the world. Founded in 2006, the convention has grown rapidly having hosted guests from every genre including William Shatner, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, voice actor Vic Mignogna and Bruce Timm an Emmy award winning Batmanillustrator. The 2011 convention saw 30,000 attendees and is the 2nd largest convention of its kind in all of Canada.
