NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL’S NEW SERIES CHASING UFOs LANDS
IN SAN DIEGO AS THE SERIES’ THREE INVESTIGATORS INVADE COMIC-CON WITH AUTOGRAPHS, ICE CREAM, FRISBEES AND SWAG
(WASHINGTON, D.C. – Monday, July 9, 2012) – Just in time for Comic-Con, the investigators on National Geographic Channel’s (NGC) Chasing UFOs are taking it to the streets, putting their alien explorations on hold to probe a mysterious outbreak of the undead at the 6th
Annual Zombie Walk: San Diego on Friday, July 13, at 5:30 p.m. Erin
Ryder, tech supervisor and lead researcher; Ben McGee, geologist,
radiation scientist and field explorer; and James Fox, “UFOlogist,” will
all be on hand at the iconic global event to mingle with fans and pass
out free swag, Frisbees and ice cream from Chasing UFOs-branded pushcarts.
The
next day, Saturday, July 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., fans will get
the chance to have their own close encounters with these real-life
“Scullys and Mulders” at a special free autograph signing in room AA08
of the San Diego Convention Center. There, fans will be able to hear
firsthand accounts of what the investigators experienced in the field as
they researched some of the most famous sightings to date such as an
alleged alien spacecraft crash landing site in Roswell, N.M., and Travis
Walton’s alleged abduction location, which was depicted in the feature
film “Fire in the Sky.”
The Chasing UFOs
investigators are sure to bump into a few like minds at Comic-Con, as a
recently published extraterrestrial survey from NGC reported that more
than 80 million Americans believe that aliens exist. The survey also
found out which caped crusader Americans would call upon in the event of
an alien attack. One in five Americans (21 percent) answered that they
would most likely call on the Hulk to deal with the havoc. Far fewer,
would most trust Batman (12 percent) or Spiderman (8 percent)
to step in. Ryder offered her own take on the situation, saying, “If I
needed some extra assistance in an alien attack, and I hope I never do, I
would have to say that I’d be looking for some strong females to be by
my side. Sorry ‘Avengers,’ but I’d take Wonder Woman, Buffy the Vampire
Slayer or Lara Croft any day of the week.”
National Geographic Channel’s Chasing UFOs airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT. On Friday, July 13, Chasing UFOs explores
the skies above the desert sands of Roswell, N.M., which have been home
to thousands of reports of unidentified flying objects. One particular
home video has the Chasing UFOs team in hot pursuit of the truth.
Does the mysterious video really show an actual crash landing of an
alien spacecraft? Under cover of darkness and armed with night vision
gear, Ryder, Ben and James scour the alleged crash site … and come
across a surprising find that has them questioning a military cover-up.
