"Fantastic" Results For Project: Rooftop's  "Fantastic Four: Fashion Forward" Redesign Contest

Judges include Comic Artist Stuart Immonen, NPR's Glen Weldon
and Dark Horse Editor Rachel Edidin
With over 100 entries from a variety of comics pros, online favorites and fabulous newcomers, Project: Rooftop is proud to announce the winners of its "Fantastic Four" Fashion Forward" Redesign contest. Judged by a panel of 10 people including Marvel artist Stuart Immonen (New Avengers, Fear Itself), Dark Horse editor Rachel Edidin and NPR's Glen Wledon, this latest P:R contest found its winner in a first-time P:R artist, New York-based Alejandro Bruzzese.

"I love the ligne claire art style and the dramatic pose," says Immonen in his comments on the entry. Edidin calls Bruzzese's rendition of the team as "a science-adventurer team with the emphasis on the 'science.'"

When asked about his design, the artist Alejandro Bruzzese was very specific.

"As far as I'm concerned they're explorers, not super-heroes," explains Bruzzese. "Thus the backpacks and practical clothes. I gave them their own colors as a sort of tribute to the Thunderbirds, Bionic Six, Super Sentai, Galaxy Trio... basically all the teams the Fantastic Four inspired in the first place."

Coming in a close second in P:R's "Fantastic Four: Fashion Forward" contest is frequent name on the site and a multi-time finalist in our contests, Vanni LoRiggio. Rounding out the top three is Victor Newman.
