Project: Rooftop Announces
"The Middleman: Man About Town" Redesign Contest
The indie comics and TV star comes to Project: Rooftop looking for some fashion tips from artists just like you!
Project: Rooftop is proud to partner with Javier Grillo-Marxauch and Les McClaine for an official redesign contest for the titular star of their comic series The Middleman. "The Middleman: Man About Town" invites artists far and wide to take  on the challenge of imagining a new look for the Middleman in this official redesign contest. Both Grillo-Marxauch and McClaine will be joining our regular panel of judges to survey the entrants in this official redesign contest, and are also offering a range of prizes  for the winners.

"For years, I have followed Project: Rooftop and reveled in the unbridled creativity of its contributors - to have The Middleman get the P:R treatment is a dream come true for me," Grillo-Marxauch says. "I can't wait to see what how the site's readers interpret my and Les McClaine's creation!"

Due to the nature of The Middleman, artists have free reign to re-imagine the Middleman in various time periods and cultures. In the comics we've seen Middlemen from the Victorian age to barbarian times in addition to the well-known modern-day Middleman. And remember, Middleman can be female or male. Whatever era you choose, remember the key part of the Middleman's cannon: black trousers, white shirt, green jacket, black tie and boots.

As part of this official redesign contest, the creators have provided several prizes for the winners of "The Middleman: Man About Town:"
  •  First Place: A prize package that includes an original page of art by McClaine from The Middleman, graphic novel/DVD combo pack, a online portfolio review by Grillo-Marxauch and McClaine, and the winner's design featured in a future issue of  The Middleman.
  • Second Place: A original page of art from The Middleman by Les McClaine, along with a Middleman graphic novel/DVD combo pack.
  • Third Place: A Middleman graphic novel/DVD combo pack.

Entries for "The Middleman: Man About Town" should aim to create a new take on the hero that stays true to the character's concept and history and only revise their costume, as if your design was in the running to be used in current continuity. All entries must be received by December 4, 2013 at 5pm Eastern Time. As usual, check our guidelines, and save your submission as a .jpg, .,png or .gif with your full name as the file name. Send your submission as an attachment to projectrooftop@gmail.com with the subject line being "Entry for The Middleman: Man About Town," and make sure to include your name and website in the body of the e-mail.

Thanks to Paul Milligan for designing the banner for this contest.
