BOOM! STUDIOS ANNOUNCES NEW LINE OF DELUXE EDITION TRADE PAPERBACKS, KICKING OFF WITH
'THE SAVAGE BROTHERS'
'THE SAVAGE BROTHERS'
THE SAVAGE BROTHERS DELUXE EDITION TP Cover by Rafael Albuquerque
May 16, 2014 - Los Angeles, CA - Just
as the dead walk again, THE SAVAGE BROTHERS have returned! The popular
BOOM! Studios title is being resurrected to kick off the publisher’s new
line of full-sized, deluxe editions, leading into the publisher’s 10th
anniversary in 2015. These deluxe editions of early BOOM! Studios series
are perfect for new readers or for existing fans who are looking to
enjoy the book in its larger format.
Written by Andrew Cosby (co-creator of the hit SyFy show Eureka) and Johanna Stokes (Eureka, THE CALLING: CTHULHU CHRONICLES), THE SAVAGE BROTHERS DELUXE EDITION TP
is presented in standard comic size for the first time (the first
edition was printed in 6” x 9” digest size) and features a brand-new
cover by interior artist Rafael Albuquerque (American Vampire, Animal Man).
By the way, SAVAGE BROTHERS was Albuquerque’s first work on a
full-length American series. Before he perfected vampires, he was giving
you another monster—zombies! Never has the zombie apocalypse looked so
rich and vibrant.
“Reprinting
some of our classic BOOM! titles and giving them the deluxe edition
treatment is something we’ve been itching to do,” said BOOM! Studios
Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon. “Starting off with SAVAGE BROTHERS is a
perfect entry point; this is the series that Rafael cut his teeth on
before he went on to become the star he is today. And we had to have him
come back to do a new cover!”
When
the living want their undead loved ones put out of their misery, the
Savage Brothers are the only two guys for the job. But their latest job
takes them on a strange trip, involving virgin strippers, heads in jars,
and the secret of the zombie apocalypse! This special edition also
contains two terrifying reprints of Zombie Tales stories from Johanna Stokes, J.K. Woodward, and Keith Giffen.
Other upcoming Deluxe Editions from BOOM! Studios include TAG by Keith Giffen, Kody Chamberlain, and Chee; and TALENT by Christopher Golden and Paul Azaceta. Previous series recollected in the Deluxe Edition format include 2 GUNS by Steven Grant and Mateus Santolouco and DINGO by Michael Alan Nelson and Francesco Biagini.
THE SAVAGE BROTHERS DELUXE EDITION TP arrives in comic shops on June 11th with a cover price of $9.99 under Diamond order code MAR140961 and ISBN number 978-1-60886-387-7, featuring a new cover by series artist Rafael Albuquerque.
