2 More Join Future of Comics Row at Baltimore's Kids Love Comics Pavilion

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - September 8, 2015 - Have you bought your tickets for the 2015 Baltimore Comic-Con? Returning to the Inner Harbor this September 25-27, the 16th annual show will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center.
The Baltimore Comic-Con celebrates kids' comics in a big way. Young comic creators, Kate Davis, L.J. Fowlkes, Eric Mann, and Trinity McKnight were announced as the winners of the Future of Comics contest. They earned a space in Baltimore Comic-Con's Kids Love Comics Pavilion to sell their books and art. This talented quartet won't be the only young creators showcasing their work.
Kids Love Comics saved two spots for two extraordinary kids. "These kids have been coming to the Baltimore Comic-Con for years," explains Mark Mariano, Senior Director of Kids Love Comics. "We have seen them grow as artists and comic creators. Every year, they show us their work and every year it gets better and better." To honor their hard work and dedication to the craft of comic-making, young creators Mary Jane DeCarlo and Nicolas Aureliani have been chosen to be Future of Comics guests in the Pavilion.
Mary Jane DeCarlo

This won't be Mary Jane's first time exhibiting at the Baltimore Comic-Con. The 17-year-old Fairfax, Virginia native has had a table in Artists Alley the past two years. She enjoys creating comics, but her versatile art can be seen all throughout her high school. Murals painted in hallways and classrooms, logos on T-shirts, and illustrations in the school newspaper, Ms. DeCarlo has certainly left her mark. Playing guitar in a band with her brothers, John and Mike, may have inspired the story for her comic book. Just Fly is a beautifully illustrated comic about a trio of siblings who secretly perform as a rock band. They use their powers acquired onstage to fight against evil. Be sure to pick up the book when you meet her at the Kids Love Comics Pavilion and see why Mary Jane rocks.
Nicolas Aureliani

Nicolas grew up learning the craft of making comics from his father. His dad, Franco, is the award winning writer and artist of Tiny Titans, Itty Bitty Hellboy, and Aw Yeah Comics. Comic conventions are nothing new for Nicolas. He's helped out with workshops for the Kids Love Comics Pavilion, doing live drawing and encouraging kids to join in the giant drawing jam session known as Groove is in the Art. Nicolas is a 16-year-old with a brightly huge imagination. It shines through in every one of his crazy comic creations. Zombie Cat, Frankenbug, and Unicornea are some characters he helped create for Aw Yeah Comics. Nicolas also wrote stories for the two Aw Yeah Comics paperback collections published by Dark Horse. "I hope to do more with the characters I have created and make tons more," said the young creator. We can't wait to see more!
Mary Jane DeCarlo and Nicolas Aureliani are true inspirations for all young aspiring writers and artists. The Future of Comics row is part of the Kids Love Comics Pavilion. It features over 30 family-friendly comic creators and engaging workshops every hour.
