Writer Matt Hawkins (THINK TANK, TALES OF HONOR) teams up with artist Raffaele Ienco for an all-new science fiction, suspense series called SYMMETRY—set to launch from Image Comics/Top Cow Productions this December.
In
SYMMETRY, Utopia is here. Hunger, sickness, work… all relics of a long
forgotten past. For the greater good of the human species, all
individuality, creativity, and negative emotions have been genetically
bred out and medically suppressed. The population is limited to
segregated areas where people lead long lives of leisure, games, and
socializing. Only one man and one woman seem to notice, care, or think
differently. Once they find each other, their relationship sparks a
revolution...but will their love cause the salvation or destruction of
mankind?
"I
spent a ton of time talking to psychologists about what it would take
to create a world with no aggression or violence," said Hawkins. "From
my research it would require eliminating diversity, ambition and
creativity. Sounds bland I know, but it's an interesting exercise and
amazing for storytelling opportunities. Symmetry is an interesting Utopian future that gets broken, which results in some fantastic drama for the lead characters.”
SYMMETRY #1 (Diamond Code OCT150485)
will hit comic book stores on Wednesday, December 9th. Cover B by
Raffaele Ienco can be ordered with Diamond Code OCT150486. Cover C, also
by Ienco, can be ordered with Diamond Code OCT150487. The final order
cutoff deadline for comic book retailers is Monday, November 16th.
