Caliber Comics Debuts at C2E2
Caliber makes its first appearance at C2E2

Caliber Comics, one of the leading independent comic companies of the 1990s that was resurrected early last year, will make its first appearance at C2E2.  To mark the occasion, Caliber will debut a number of new releases at the show in addition to having most of its library of nearly 120 graphic novels at the convention.

The Art of Deadworld, a full color volume featuring over 115 different artists will debut at the show along with the Deadworld Coloring Book.  In addition, Caliber is re-packaging all the Deadworld issues into new editions providing fans a chance to get every issue of Deadworld ever released in 22 volumes.

One of Caliber’s first titles at the time of the initial launch was the anthology, Caliber Presents.  The all new Caliber Presents will debut at the convention.  The new version will be graphic novel size, running 120-148 pages and retailing for $9.95 and released about every 6 weeks.  Also set to debut is another former Caliber title returning, Calibrations.  This new incarnation of Calibrations will feature four first issues each issue which will range from 112-144 pages at the low price of $7.99.  The first issue features: Inferno from Mike Carey and Michael Gaydos; The Red Diaries with art from Laurence Campbell and Christopher Jones; Saint Germaine from Gary Reed and Vince Locke; and Strange Detective Mysteries from Sam Gafford and Rosaria Battiloro.

In a unique co-publishing venture, Caliber Comics and Source Point Press have teamed up for two new releases, both making their debut at C2E2.  Bayani, written by Source Pont Press CEO, Travis McIntire and illustrated by Grant Perkins will be a Caliber book whereas Savants, written by Caliber publisher Gary Reed with art by Seth Damoose and Sara Sowles, will come out from Source Point.  Caliber is also releasing a special Savants Prelude graphic novel which runs 64 pages and will be offered for only $3.00 at the con for anyone that buys the first issue of Savants.

“C2E2 is the big show in our area, the Midwest,” said Publisher Gary Reed, “and we were glad to work with the folks at C2E2 to make it happen.”  Reed stated Caliber worked with C2E2 to set up a special Free Book offer where every hour, there will be a drawing and the lucky winner can choose a free book from a selection of ten offered from Caliber.

“I realize that as an independent comic company that doesn’t do licensed titles, outside of our adaptation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, that a lot of fans may not be that familiar with our line. But we’ve always been a reservoir of new talent and giving creators a chance to do their own titles,” Reed said.  Over the years, Caliber has received dozens of nominations from the Harveys, Eisners, Don Thompson, Russ Manning, Ghastly, Shel Dorf, and other awards.

Showcasing the legacy of Caliber is the number of well-known creators who have worked on titles from Caliber that will be appearing at C2E2.  The list includes:  Mike Perkins, Jill Thompson, Phil Hester, Jim Calafiore, Tim Vigil, Dave Dorman, Mike Huddleson, Angel Medina, Vince Locke, Joe Pruett, Bryan JL Glass, Scott Beaderstadt, Jim Terry, Thom Zahler, Dan Dougherty, Dirk Manning, and more.

Caliber Comics will be in the publishing area, Booth 730.  Appearing at the booth will be Publisher Gary Reed and Manager Eric Reichert.
