DARK HORSE AND BIOWARE TO HAVE A “MASSIVELY EFFECTIVE” 2017

“Mass Effect: Andromeda” program and new “Dragon Age” series set to drop early next year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
MILWAUKIE, Ore., (October 3, 2016)—After publishing a highly successful art book, ship replicas, and a line of comics based on the popular Mass Effect franchise, Dark Horse is excited to announce the next phase in its partnership with BioWare: the Mass Effect: Andromeda program. The Andromeda program is based on the highly anticipated game scheduled for release in 2017. Additionally, Dark Horse will offer new comics and a coloring book based on the 2014 Game of the Year, Dragon Age.
Dark Horse and BioWare are excited for the newest development in their partnership. “Dark Horse has been one of our oldest and most trusted partners. It is not only exciting to add more high-quality products to the release, but also to continue our creative collaborations to give our fans the best experiences possible for Mass Effect and Dragon Age,” said BioWare Director of Business Planning and Development Chris Bain.
The Mass Effect: Andromeda program will begin in 2017. Mass Effect Adult Coloring Book will be available for purchase on March 1, 2017. The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda goes on sale March 21, 2017. Dark Horse is also creating limited editions that will be available for pre-order soon at The BioWare Store (biowarestore.com). The first issue of the comic series Mass Effect: Discovery will be available in spring 2017. The Mass Effect: Discovery story is by Mass Effect: Andromeda Creative Director Mac Walters, Mass Effect: Andromeda Lead Writer John Dombrow, and Jeremy Barlow (Star Wars Adventures, Mass Effect: Foundation). Jeremy Barlow writes the script, and Gabriel Guzmán provides his artistic skills. Mass Effect: Andromeda—The Poster Collection will be available for purchase in fall 2017.
Mass Effect: Andromeda Creative Director Mac Walters explained the creative process behind developing books based on successful video game franchises: “As we bring the Andromeda galaxy to life, we realize that there are many untapped stories that could be better told through comics. These stories give our fans a more in-depth understanding of the motivations of the explorers making that journey, from their perspective. Our creative partnership with Dark Horse goes all the way back to Mass Effect 2 and we are excited to expand that partnership within the Andromeda galaxy.”
The next Dragon Age series is titled Dragon Age: Knight Errant. Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir (Skinwalker, Three Strikes) write the series, while Fernando Heinz Furukawa illustrates it. Sachin Teng will create the covers. The first issue goes on sale May 10, 2017. Dragon Age Adult Coloring Book will go on sale February 8, 2017.
