NANCY DREW GRAPHIC NOVEL WINS MEDIA AWARD

“Tiger Counter” named one of the “Excellent Products of 2009”

iParenting.com, a leading source of advice for parents, has given a 2009 iParenting Media Award to NANCY DREW graphic novel #15. The book, titled “Tiger Counter,” is available through Papercutz’s website, www.papercutz.com.

In “Tiger Counter,” by writers Stefan Petrucha & Sarah Kinney and artist Sho Murase, Nancy and her BFFs Bess and George encounter lions, tigers, and scares -- oh, my! -- as they explore the mystery of a missing cat. When the authorities learn exactly how many cats eccentric old Mrs. Eartha keeps in her house, health code violations force the cats to be removed -- but Hell hath no fury like a cat-woman scorned! That’s when Nancy, Bess, and George run into escaped lions and tigers in the woods, and a deadly cat-and-mouse game ensues. The book is a full-color, 96-page trade paperback cover-priced at $7.95 ( ISBN: 978-1-59707-118-5). It’s also available as a collector’s hardcover for $12.95 (ISBN: 978-1-59707-119-2). For more information, visit the book’s web page, http://www.papercutz.com/nd/nd_novel15.html.

NANCY DREW’s award comes on the heels of recognition by ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY that Nancy is one of the “20 All-Time Coolest Heroes in Pop Culture.” (She even outranks Batman.) “The first female hero embraced by most little girls, Drew lived in an endless summer of never-ending adventures and unlimited potential,” says her entry, which you can find at http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20268279_3,00.html.
