ABOUT:

Music Saves Lives, a Southern California based non-profit that focuses on youth blood donation and marrow registration has teamed up with some new cartoon characters to get the word out about saving lives. Dahveed! from Smorgasbord Productions and Steve Sievers from Level 27 Media are the creators of Supa Pirate Booty Hunt the hit online animated series. The animated spots will feature the adventures of Captain Zack Stevers and Daniel the turtle as the two rock out on stage with some top musical bands and artists including Nat and Sean from the band 3OH!3, Dave Mustaine from Megadeth and Chuck Billy from Testament. MSL has a precise goal of targeting its message to millions of young people, educating them through "Adult Swim" style edgy and hilarious animation that many of them are already watching.

Each PSA sends a message that donating blood or registering for the marrow program is done not only by mainstream America, but by young people that find music and adult animation entertaining.

The summer of 2011 is the sixth summer Music Saves Lives has been supported by the Vans
Warped Tour to educate and encourage blood donation and the first year that they are working
in the metal-rock scene with Rockstar Drink Energy Mayhem Festival. This program has
generated over 200,000 blood donations in the summer and over 1 million in the past 6 years.
It has been awarded for being the largest youth blood donation program in US history. The
Music Saves Lives motto, "Saving Lives Has Never Sounded So Good™", echoes its life saving
mission.
