CRITICS AGREE
BETRAYAL OF
THE PLANET OF THE APES #1
IS A HIT!

"The Apes comic I've always wanted."
-- Ed Brubaker

November 16, 2011 - Los Angeles, CA - The critics have spoken: BETRAYAL OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is a commercial and critical hit! THE INCREDIBLE HULK and AGENTS OF ATLAS' Gabriel Hardman teams with FEAR ITSELF: THE HOME FRONT's Corinna Bechko on one of the most critically-lauded miniseries launches of the year. The first of four issues, issue #1 has started the miniseries off with a bang.

"We do a fair amount of comics here at BOOM!," says BOOM! Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon, "And we've been pretty blown away by the excitement that this one is causing. Daryl Gregory, Carlos Magno and crew have been tearing it up for fans on the PLANET OF THE APES ongoing series, so it's kind of an embarrassment of riches to have Hardman and Bechko come in and really deliver on a new miniseries. "

While the main, ongoing PLANET OF THE APES series takes place hundreds of years before the original movie, BETRAYAL starts just twenty years before the arrival of Colonel Taylor in the first film. Taking place during the continuity of the original, seminal fan-favorite film, the feared and respected General Aleron finds himself at the center of a conspiracy that could transform ape and human relations. Along the way, his journey puts him face to face with…Dr. Zaius!

The first issue is already available at your local comic shop and BETRAYAL OF THE PLANET OF THE APES #2 ships on December 7th, 2011.
