Gearhead and the Realbot is a wacky, science fiction comedy homage to the awesome, terrible, and terribly awesome science fiction films and television shows, of the 1950s and 60s.  The play follows Howard Batch, or Gearhead as his comrades call him, the brainy space engineer who is looking for a chance to prove his true worth to his condescending comrades.  He finally seizes his chance when the evil Professor Zee infiltrates the Pomegranate Fizz, the space craft Gearhead works on, along with his beautiful yet mysterious daughter, Marigold.

The play contains all of your favorite characters from sci-fi classics, from the inept and overly-masculine captain, to the shell-shocked first mate, to the gentle but probably an axe murderer doctor, the doctors sweet and annoying son…you know, the kid producers put on the show to appeal to children but ends up appealing our carnal desire to see a child run over by an Abrams tank. And of course the villain, whose desire to take over the universe is rooted in the fact that…I don’t know…it’s Wednesday?
