Bernie Wrightson Joins 2008 Baltimore Comic-Con!
BALTIMORE, MD (Jan. 20, 2008) Swamp-Thing' s celebrated co-creator Bernie Wrightson has joined the September 27-28, 2008 Baltimore Comic-Con as the Guest of Honor, and he's not alone in making his first appearance at the long-running convention.
Other first time guests for the show include Ultimate Spider-Man artist Stuart Immonen, Cliff Chiang (Green Arrow & Black Canary) and Mike Vosburg (Lori Lovecraft). They join returning guests Dean Haspiel (Brawl), Kyle Baker (The Bakers), and Vincent Spencer (Zombie-Proof) in addition to the previously announced creators.
"We're excited to be able to add Bernie Wrightson to our guest list. For a the fans in our region, he's been one our most requested guests we haven't had yet, so it's great to have him on board," said Marc Nathan, the show promoter. "We're also happy to welcome Stuart, Cliff, Mike to Baltimore and to welcome back Dean, Kyle, and Vincent as well."
The guest list already includes Jim Lee (Batman, Wildcats - appearing both days in 2008), along with Howard Chaykin (American Flagg, Wolverine), Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows, Mighty Avengers), Steve Conley (Star Trek, The Escapist), Amanda Conner (JSA Classified, Terra), David Finch (World War Hulk, New Avengers), Ramona Fradon (Aquaman), John Gallagher (Buzzboy, Roboy Red), Michael Golden (Micronauts, The 'Nam), Geoff Johns (Green Lantern, Action Comics), J.G. Jones (52, Wonder Woman), Robert Kirkman (Invincible, Ultimate X-Men), Barry Kitson (Empire, The Order), Jimmy Palmiotti (Painkiller Jane, Jonah Hex, Brandon Peterson (Ultimate X-Men, Strange), Eric Powell (The Goon), Tim Sale (Batman: The Long Halloween, Heroes), Jim Shooter (Legion of Super-Heroes, Secret Wars), J.C. Vaughn (Zombie-Proof, 24), Neil Vokes (The Black Forest, The Wicked West), and Mark Waid (Flash, Boom! Studios).
