Guinness World Records 2009: Gamer's Edition is hitting shelves and in it are special sections devoted solely to some great superhero and comic
book based video game records. We thought you and your readers might want
to give this a look.

A couple of records featured in the new book include:

- First Superhero Game of All-Time - 1979 Atari introduced Superman
- Most Marvel Characters in a Spider-Man Game - The 2000 PlayStation
Spider-Man featured 15 heroes and villains
- First Superhero First-Person Shooter - X-Men: Ravages of Apocalypse
released for the PC in 1997 was the firs officially licensed superhero entry
in the first-person shooter genre

The first edition of Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition was published in February 2008, and received critical accolade from gaming industry
reviewers. PC World said: "if you truly want to prove your mettle in the
gaming arena...your name in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition is the
only way to go about it," while critics from Popular Science praised: "If
you care about gaming, something here is going to fascinate you."

The latest book is available everywhere books are sold on February 4th for $21.95.
