“Holy Smokes, Batman” Motor City Comic Con’s Guest Roster Grows: Lea Thompson (Back to the Future I, II, III), Jon Bernthal (Daredevil), Seth Gilliam (The Walking Dead) among others added to the guest list

Novi, MI (April 25, 2016) – BAM! POW! WOW! Superhero-sized news is creating excitement as Motor City Comic Con 2016 announces that more comic and media guests have been added to its 27th
annual, three-day, celebrity-filled metro Detroit comic event. The
newly added guests feature: Lea Thompson, known for her role as Lorraine
McFly in Back to the Future I, II, III; Jon Bernthal, known for his roles in Daredevil and The Walking Dead; Seth Gilliam, known for his role as Father Gabriel Stokes on The Walking Dead; Alexandra Breckenridge, known for her role as Jessie Anderson on The Walking Dead; among many others. These guests are in addition to those previously announced from Batman, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, The Four Horsemen, Gotham, The X-Files, Monty Python, The Monkees, and many more. This year’s Motor City Comic Con will take place Friday, May 13 (12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.), Saturday, May 14 (10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sunday, May 15 (10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
at the Suburban Collection Showplace, located at 46100 Grand River

Michigan’s number one pop culture event will also toast the 50th anniversary of Batman with Burt Ward and Adam West, stars from the original cast, in their final tour.

The weekend event features more than 300 creators, writers,
illustrators and actors who will greet the fans, sign autographs, take
pictures, and provide panels and Q & A discussions, while many super
fans are dressed in their pop culture best. A popular event is
Saturday’s cosplay contest where a mix of celebrity judges determine the
best costume winners, presenting prizes and gift packages. Motor City
Comic Con’s annual Saturday night bash celebrates comic con weekend with
entertainment, refreshments, and light hors devours for the public. Sunday is Kid’s Day featuring kid-friendly activities.

Lea Thompson: Known as Lorraine McFly in Back to the Future I, II, and III, marking its 30th anniversary this year.
Jon Bernthal: Best known for his role as Shane Walsh on The Walking Dead and as Frank Castle on Daredevil.
Seth Gilliam: Known as Father Gabriel Stokes on The Walking Dead, and Dr. Alan Deaton on Teen Wolf.
Brenda Strong: Known for her role in Desperate Housewives playing Mary Alice Young who narrates the events of her friends' and neighbors' lives; Ann Ewing on Dallas; and Sue Ellen Mischke on Seinfeld.
Alexandra Breckenridge: Known for her role as Jessie Anderson on The Walking Dead; Willa McPherson on Dirt; Moira O’Hara on American Horror Story: Murder House.
Ve Neill: Academy award-winning makeup artist known for her work on Edward Scissorhands, Mrs. Doubtfire, Ed Wood, and the Batman series. She also serves as a judge on Syfy’s series Face Off.
Glenn Hetrick: Designer, fabricator, sculptor, painter, and CEO of Optic Nerve Studios, Hetrick’s wide range of work is in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, The X-Files, Freaky Links, Babylon 5, Roswell, Heroes, among others.
Graham McTavish: Known for his role as Lewis in Rambo; Dwalin in The Hobbit; and Dougal MacKenzie in Outlander.
Phil Jimenez: Comic book artist and writer known for his work on Wonder Woman, Infinite Crisis, New X-Men, The Invisibles, Tempest, The Return of Donna Troy, The Amazing Spider-Man, among many others.
David Finch: Comic book artist known for Top Cow’s Cyberforce. Finch’s other works include: New Avengers, Moon Knight, Ultimate X-Men, Brightest Day, Forever Evil, The Dark Knight vol. 1 and 2, and Wonder Woman.
Felix Silla: Best known as Cousin Itt in the original television series The Addams Family.
Jason David Frank: Known as Tommy Oliver in the long-running television show Power Rangers.
Garrick Hagon: Known as Biggs Darklighter in Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope, and as Cy Wilson in Spy Game.
James Marsters: Known as Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel. Marsters had recurring roles as Brainiac on Smallville, Captain John on Torchwood, on the series Without a Trace, and SyFy series Warehouse 13.
